Running into this issue now as well. Would be a cool feature to have. Just bumping it up +1

+1 from my team!

We need this so we can take over-used files with lots of pages and split them into multiple more specific files to make it easier to find what we’re looking for.

Perhaps ‘duplicate file’ feature could automatically share the file with the same people so that comments can transfer without the issues mentioned in the original comment. If we’re worried users may not be aware of the file being shared, Duplicate could trigger a dialog with an option to Duplicate with Comments and/ Links (file will be shared with anyone invited) or without Comments and/ Links.

Please make this dream come true! 🥳

I have a solution I think.

  1. Open Figma using a browser (not the desktop app).
  2. If you’re logged in (on the browser account) log out.
  3. Get the link to the Figma file you want using the account you don’t want it to be on.
  4. Duplicate the file (to save it to your account).
  5. After it duplicates the file you should see a small message at the bottom asking if you’d like to open it with the app. Say yes, and it will open in the desktop app in which you are still logged in using your personal account, ie. the one you would like to copy the file to.

If someone else tries this please edit my instructions. The steps might need clarification but the process worked for me. until it did I was as frustrated as everyone else on this thread. Best!

+1 I need this feature as well

Iago_Barbosa1

Unbelievable this is still a problem without fix …
One option is to duplicate file and delete the unwanted pages

Eudalia_King

What will you use instead of Figma and is it an easy process reorganising all existing files?

Eudalia_King

Looking forward hearing an update on this highly requested feature. It’s not possible to copy a prototype from one design file and paste it into another design file. If this has been resolved, please respond. Thanks! 🙂

Melanie_Gladding

Just here to +1

Sandra_Luo

+1 to this, would love to be able to move a page to another file the way that we can move things between pages (right click → move to page)

Ana_Victoria_TORRES_GUZMAN

need this too

Frederik_Ueberschar

+1, this is an essential feature when working with multiple files and developer handoff!

I have experienced RED stripe at the top with warning of losing data after exceeding 80% occupation of available resources in one file.
So… I really need this option, to move pages to another file.

Kelly_Dyson

+1, it would be really handy to have an option to “Move to file” for pages, the way we currently have “Move to page” for objects within a page in the right click menu.

I can’t believe it isn’t possible to copy or move pages from one project to another.

If it were to be available I’d also expect the process to ask whether any components local to the source file but on a different page should also be brought along.

If the user selects this option, the process would create a second page in the destination file called something like “imported components” and place a copy of all the local components that the copied/moved pages include. The process should also be smart enough to grab nested local components so that there are no links back to any components in the source file.

Marta_Ponari

+1 we need this!

+1 to keep this alive

Candy_Johnson-Eich

We really need this!

Very surprised at the fact that I cannot currently do this. With this feature, all tangled components can be really well-organized.

Need this badly!!

Thank you all for your feedback!

Our team is already aware of this thread and the interest from community for this feature. We’ll continue to pass along your feedback and votes to the team for future consideration.

Bill_Grimmer_Allovus

+1 - this would be very helpful to move pages between documents

PolinaNik

+1 please!

Tono_Guerrero

I have a big big project and need to move pages from a APP board to slice in severals Boards. No way to do it natively.

We need this feature (move pages from file to another)

+1.000! Thanks in advance.

Annoying that “topics will close a month after the last reply”, what a terrible product and user experience…so here is a comment, to keep it open.
