Hello Figma, I’ve encountered an issue when using typographic variables. I’ve configured all the fonts according to the parameters allowed by the program, but when applying them and switching to prototype mode, it doesn’t respect the settings established as variables. In my case, I’ve used two different types of typography, “Flexo” and “Nunito,” but both font families have different names for their weights. My question is, does this affect the variables? I’m attaching a video of the issue I’m facing, and I hope to find a possible solution to this problem.

hey guys, im a new member of Figma’s community just as user too. Im facing an issue about editing texts on instances, the changes just dont appear at all, however, the changes remains as the master component. in design mode everythings okay, but it dont appears in a presentation view. Can someone help me plss? thnks for all

I have a dropdown instance. In its open state I changed the text. But when I tried the prototype preview mode the text and the component keeps changing to the default text from the main component. Can you guys help me? Go to file

We are using variables for our enterprise components (things like color, border radius, etc) the typical token items. We are working to integrate them into illustration, logo, and pattern component libraries. So that these items swap out depending on the brand (mode) picked. It seems to work, but when Figma reloads some of the visual items or full components will “disappear” (they are there but broken). This is not the same as the bug where you can click into the disappeared element and it reappears. Everything fixes itself when you “CMD+/” and “Re-Resolve Variable References”, but to visually see the changes of many of the items we have to re-resolve every time Figma reloads. This is a big issue because we need developers and stakeholders to be able to use these designs and see the correct variable of the components. Is there a way to make it where the files “Re-Resolve Variable References” automatically on load so this isn’t an issue?

Hello, I’ve been working on this prototype for a website and just finished a carousel menu that will nest within a section of the landing page. I’m trying to figure out how to nest this carousel within a frame that can then rest on my landing page, while preserving the interactions I’ve already created. However, every time I place my carousel within an empty frame and activate “Clip Content”, it somehow makes my carousel interactions completely inaccessible in Prototype Mode. I’ve tried playing around with the ordering of each of my items, I’ve searched YouTube and the community, and nobody seems to have this same issue. I can’t figure out what the heck I’m doing wrong and I’m losing my mind. Nesting a carousel in a frame shouldn’t do this, should it? Situation: Component File (published as a library) Screens File (using instances from the component file, combining them into a page design, and then also used as components library for the next file) Feature Presentation File (using the screen components from the Screens File to present new feature requests and updates to product team) Component File → Screens File → Presentation File Problem: Normally, there is no problem and everything works fine. However, sometimes Figma successfully uses components from the “Components file” in the “Screens file”, but fails to show the exact same component in the “Presentation file”. Sometimes even shows weird stuff instead. (See screenshots) I tried: closing & restarting Figma changing something so I can publish a change hoping that it will affect the other files. It would be nice if this bug would be resolved. 😉

Suddenly today I noticed that my prototypes started freezing. After some investigation I found that by removing the “Mouse Enter” variant change that I used for the hover effect on my buttons, the prototypes started working correctly again. I’m not sure if this was the cause but it did resolve the issue. (note these had been previously working) Image below to show how I had the buttons setup using the “Mouse Enter” and Mouse Leave" triggers to switch between the two variants.

Context I have multiple libraries enabled. Using the desktop application for Mac. Problem Occasionally, searching in the component panel shows this image. Infuriating, because I know I have libraries enabled. I need to click to “Layers”, then click “Assets” again and the components load. This happened multiple times while I was working on a file.

Hi Plugin are not loading, is there a raison for that ?

When I try using the pen tool to draw a line inside a frame with autolayout, the vector node gets placed wayyyy outside the frame, at a seemingly random point.

Hi Figma Community, I’m facing a significant issue after a recent update where drafts must now belong to a team. I moved all my drafts to a personal team, and now, a project I had published in the Figma Community has been deleted. I no longer have access to it, and it no longer appears on my community profile. This project had thousands of duplicates, and it seems I’ve lost it completely. I do not wish to republish it; I want to recover it with all the comments and likes it had before. Attached is a screenshot of what appears when I try to open an old notification for the project: This is the Draft Could someone help me resolve this issue? Thank you.

1. Describe the bug/issue you’re running into? It’s not possible to copy and paste when you create a line. Also glitching when drawing a line. And moving the line. 2. Are you able to consistently reproduce it? If so what are the steps? As simple as creating a new line and duplicating it. 3. Share a screenshot, recording, console log, link to the file, etc. 4. Is the issue only happening in desktop app or a specific browser , or both? Both 5. What OS/version and/or browser/version are you using? Big Sur and Chrome Version 90.0.4430.93 (Official Build)

Hi, So I am trying to create an icon that can be resized within another component. To do this, I have made 4 variable modes, so that the icon will scale to the set sizes. This all works fine with the main component itself, but when a duplicate or an instance of the component is placed, it does not work and I don’t understand why not. See video example… Can anyone help me please?

Hi, I’m experiencing something that seems to be a bug with Styles vs. Variables. I have bunch of components that are imported from a library with color variables (no colors styles involved). Problem is when I am selecting one of them ‘Selection colors’ shows a color style that imitates applied background color variable and there’s no such style anywhere. See example, ‘Background/background_sidebar’ variable is applied to ‘Sidebar’ component (imported from library) and is reflected in ‘Fill’, but ‘Selection colors’ show one another ‘Style’ called ‘Background/background.sidebar’. Overall these Styles that you see in the screenshot, do not exist in this file, neither in the library. Sooo, how do I get rid of these annoying ‘ghost styles’? Thanks!

Hi, we need to publish a plugin quickly, but we are stuck with this notice: As per the manifest documentation, it shows that the ‘documentAccess’ field is optional. We do not want to use the dynamic page loading feature for now. How can we publish the plugin without enabling the dynamic page loading APIs for the Plugin ?

When I select an auto-layout attribute (gap, or padding) with a variable applied, in the dropdown I see the current value highlighted which is amazing. Tho, that doesn’t happen when I want to change the radius. When I click on the radius value, the dropdown highlights the first value in the list which is incorrect. It would be nice if Radius would be consistent with how the layout properties work and would highlight the selected value in the dropdown. Thank you!

So we used to be able to reset the name of text layers (so that they automatically are naemd after their content) by simply deleting the name. Now Figma has removed the ability to do this. Has anyone found another way to reset the name, or are all my layers now ruined?

I created two modes (Light and Dark) with semantic tokens in my library and applied them to all the components. According to the Figma documentation, the most left column of the Variables settings page is the default mode. https://help.figma.com/hc/en-us/articles/15343816063383-Modes-for-variables#h_01HMD3VBSV4SD76PH8BVZY8Z13 But in my library some components show light mode by default and some components show dark mode by default. How to solve the problem and make the all default mode as light?

everything I do in Figma I have to redo in different files ten times, because the program works crookedly, and many basic functions about 10 edits stupidly break, and I am forced to create frames and triggers in them again, instead of releasing some better cursors on the program, finally work in such a way that you can create complex interfaces, and projects do not break after some time of editing, thanks you look stupid when instead of improving the basic functionality you create some kind of cursors

The custom Figma mouse pointer looks nasty when you use a larger than default system pointer size (on Mac at least). Resolutions and screen sizes have just gotten bigger and bigger while the pointer has stayed the same size, so these days the default size is ridiculously small… Which is why I always enlarge it.

Anyone else experiencing the loss of the recently added “select multiple pages”? wondering if it coincides with my recent update to sonoma?

Hi all, In short, I’ve shared the prototype and some people viewing it are reporting fonts are much bolder and even aligned incorrectly (left vs. centred) on elements using the same component. While everything displays fine for others. All in Chrome, on Mac. Due to NDA, I can’t screenshot this. As mentioned, they all use the same component. So there should be no differences other than the content - and there isn’t in my Figma file or when viewing the prototype. So makes no sense why it would be different for anyone else? At first I thought this was just down to caching but I’ve shared the prototype link with 3 people who haven’t viewed the project before. And 1 didn’t get the issue, the other 2 did. To add to the mystery, I asked a designer to go into the Figma file and they’re seeing the issue in the file. So in a grid of 5 products using the same component. Some text is bold and larger.
