A design file I created in January disappeared after the last update. I can’t find it anywhere, neither in drafts, nor in trash, nor in team projects. I have no other accounts. The search shows nothing. The desktop version of Figma doesnt differ from the web one. My project disappeared as if it had never existed.

It’s possible that the file may have been moved, especially if others had access to it. Here are a few things we can check:

Can you confirm your team picker? Ensure you’ve selected the correct team in the sidebar. It’s easy to miss files if the wrong team is selected.
- Check the ‘Deleted’ section. Sometimes files can end up in the “Drafts to Move” folder, which has a deleted section worth checking.
- Do you have any file links? If you ever shared or opened the file, you might find its URL in your:
- Browser history
- Past conversations with colleagues
- ‘File > Recently Closed’ menu if you’re using the desktop app
