Does anyone know if there are any updates coming to Figma's prototyping, particularly regarding scroll-based triggers?I’ve been working on a large prototype to demonstrate the behavior of a sticky navigation on mobile. The idea is that the navigation disappears when scrolling down but reappears when scrolling up—showing a different version upon scroll.I’ve managed to hack together a workaround using mouse cursor in/out triggers on desktop to create the illusion of this behaviour, but that obviously won’t work on mobile. And in a mobile-first world, that’s a big limitation.Any help would be fantastic, Figma, any ideas or updates?
So this is just something I hit my head on all the time. I have some components which are meant to hold a list of instances of another component. The solution I always use is to create like 20 instances inside and then hide all the ones I don’t need for a given design. Many of these designs contain far fewer than 20, but other designs can get close to that number. It just depends. Having all this unused junk in my layers is just irksome. A related problem is that the interior elements cannot be reordered without a lot of work. Ideally, it should be possible to create a component, which can have an arbitrary number of a particular instance (like "list row"s in a “list”) and those instances would be reorderable and removable in the layers panel. It seems like this should be doable with a special component property applied to the embedded instance that I want to have arbitrarily many, freely reorderable copies of. Other posts make a similar request, but I wanted to add my own to emphasize
I have created a component which, while hovering, animates a little. Even after sharing the dev mode to the developer, my developer is asking me to share the lottie file for the same, to which i am unable to generate and share cause currently i cannot afford the lottie subscription.Suggest some way through i can share the animated component (with it’s variant state) with the developers.
Hi everyone!I've been running into a recurring issue when exporting SVG assets from Figma.Everything looks perfect inside Figma, but when I export as SVG and use it on a website, the design sometimes breaks — fonts don’t render correctly, alignment shifts, and sometimes fills or strokes are missing entirely.I’ve tried: Flattening layers before export Converting text to outlines Exporting with and without "Include ID attributes" Comparing in different browsers (Chrome, Firefox, Safari) Still seeing issues! Is this just how SVGs work or am I missing something in the Figma export process?Would love to hear your tips, settings, or best practices when exporting clean and browser-safe SVGs from Figma
Help me figure out if I’m the problem or if Figma is the problem. The latest issue is that when I try to reorder a variable group via drag and drop, half the time the group I’m dragging ungroups on drop. Half the time it doesn’t. There’s no difference in what I do. See gif. Other problems:When I undo (which is usually because of the above issue), it treats every organizational change I’ve made as a single action. So If I’ve moved around a bunch of variables or groups, it reverts everything with a single undo. Folders randomly open up when I don’t want them opened up. I have a big collection of variables with dozens of groups, and when they all open up on their own, I have to manually close each one to keep myself sane. Groups sometimes suddenly drop to the bottom of the collection when I copy and paste in variables. Almost like the collection is choosing to sort itself by “most recently edited at the bottom” in that moment. Huge pain, especially considering how buggy it is trying to the
Hi,In recent 2-3 weeks or so, in figma I am not able to edit the files that are shared by the designer (I was given Edit access), and the panel where I was able to switch between edit and dev mode is now locked with dev mode icon, but I cannot measure distances at all (when try to see the distance between elements on hovering over them, I don't get the measured distance).I've been having this kind of permission issues for quite some while in Figma. Can you assist?
Saw the comments were deactivated for this question, and I’m having the same issue.Anybody know how to sever a component’s link to another file and make it native to the new file?
So recently I changed my email account for my google account because I could not remember my old hotmail account however I forgot that my Figma account is connected to my old email account and I could log in via my Google SSO. However there is no way now of accessing my Figma account because I don’t know my old email account password at all and can’t even recover the old email account password and get access to my inbox. Is there a way I can access my Figma account? It’s very worrying because it’s a pro account so now I am paying for something I can’t even access. Is there someone at Figma who could help me and I can prove it’s my account through billing address or something.
Hi,When I request a review from a reviewer, they should be able to see the "before and after" versions of the wireframes I've edited. However, when they open the file, they only see the current version of the frame - there’s no comparison view available.Could you please help with this? Thanks! When I review that same frame from my edit seat, I can see changes fine.
If I was opening the project in Figma then it’ll pop-up this [You can’t access this resource]. So, I just want to open it for my work, by this I can’t approach the web and that will be difficult for me to work on it. So, please resolve it as soon as possible.
I'm trying to publish my design system, but I keep seeing this message:"Publishing Failed: Please reload the page to publish."I’ve reloaded the page multiple times and also tried reopening the Figma app, but the issue persists. Could you please help me resolve this?
Hi everyone,I really need some help with a file. After duplicating a project, some of the components stopped working properly. The “Go to main component” option doesn’t appear at all when I click on a button. The only thing I can do is click “Restore component,” which just creates a duplicate of the component in the relative page (very weird to explain). Oddly, this only affects the buttons, other components seem to be working fine.Any quick advice or solution to fix this? Thanks in advance,Lorenzo
I am trying to change the email associated with another Figma account that I have and receiving an “incorrect password” error whenever I attempt to make the change. Here is what happens, step-by-step:Open ‘Settings’ Select ‘Change email’ Type in requested info: ‘New email’ and ‘Confirm password’ Click ‘Submit’ button Form does not submit and a red pop-up appears at the top of the page: ‘You entered an incorrect password.’I have double-checked that I am using the correct password and even updated it just in case.
When will figma make be available?
Hi everyone,I’ve just started experimenting with the new Grids auto layout beta version. How do I get this square rectangle block to go from edge to edge of the webpage? I’ve added 10px padding either side of the webpage grid, however everytime I extend it, it snaps to the auto grid? I would like this to extend past the grid to the very edge!I’ve tried holding down shift and drag, however this creates another frame on top of the existing webpage frame and it needs to all be within one frame.
Hi there,While applying after delay animations it works fine when viewing in web version but in figma mirror app it doesn't shows the after delay animation.. it this a bug or what am went went wrong,,, any suggestion's…?
After the new update I am unable to copy the gradient. Before I had to just select the shape/element which had the gradient I wanted, I would press ctrl+c and the gradient properties were copied and then I had to just paste it into the desired shape bt ctrl+vBut I am unable to do this now, is there a new way of doing this or Figma has gotten rid of this property?
In Light mode I can easily see which component is selected. But on dark mode it is a bit harder.
I am able to access my Library variables when editing object details: But when I try to use the Set Variable function in an interaction, I can only choose local variables: This problem seems to be limited to the Set Variable function; when I am creating conditionals I can access Library variables just fine:
Hey there, I’m running into library publishing failure and am hoping someone can offer a solution. Context:The library is a design system file that has successfully published as recently as the afternoon fri, 2/28 (today is tue, 3/4) The file memory usage is only 7%, and laptop has 50% available memory The system contains atomic and simple molecular components with variant properties, and local variables for text and color I have triple checked the entire file for conflicting component properties and/or nested instances that might cause loops – it’s possible I missed something, but the library was publishing until a few days ago The last changes I made before publishing began to fail was to apply semantic color variables to icons however, I had successfully published updates with those variables to other components previously, so can’t imagine this is the culprit The file has 87 changes to publish, with 0 conflicting instances. Changes include modified, added, and removed components/
Hi! I was able to publish my library without any issues this morning, but now I'm getting the error message: "Publishing failed: Please reload the page to publish."I've tried reloading the page, quitting Figma, restarting my laptop, and confirming my network connection, but nothing seems to work. I've been using this file for over a year and have never encountered this issue before.
I've been meaning to share this for a while now, especially with anyone who has been contemplating about having bespoke Vida Veneers Custom-Made but doesn't know where to start. A few months ago, I was in the same boat, going through reviews, looking at before-and-after photographs, and second-guessing every selection. But I'm really glad I eventually did it.
Most of the time, I use the auto layout with first on top because I have to put dropdowns on my input fields. I have to keep changing it to first on top, because you guys made it automatically last on top for the first time setting auto layout. Can you tell me why? Or if you may, can you guys change it to first on top. That would be nice. Thanks,Rashad
tab “Resizing”Hi everyone, I need help finding the “Resizing” tab in Figma. I’m attaching a screenshot from a 2022 video where this tab was present in the interface, and my current interface where it’s missing. Thanks for your reply if you’ve written one! :)
SituationI’m using a component with 3 variants (default, hover, filled) as an interactive checkbox, designed in a design system file. There are no interactions in the MPC component in the design system file, only in the prototype file. This component is used on multiple screens in a prototype (a question flow with selectable answers). ProblemWhen I click an answer (switching the component to the “filled” variant), that state carries over to the same component instance on the next screen — even though I haven’t interacted with it there. So it should be in default state. Figma appears to remember the variant state globally, not per screen, which breaks the logic of my prototype. This becomes a serious problem when only one answer should be selected: if all options appear as “selected” due to previous interactions, the user can’t proceed in the flow anymore. This prototype is being tested on a fairly large scale, so we need reliable behavior. These unintended state carryovers lead to conf
