Hello everyone, it’s been 2 days since whenever I open a file, the “Assets” tab on the left sidebar, is open by default, why’s that? Has there been an actual change in how Figma works or is it just a bug? Note that I’ve tried to restart it multiple times, even using the “help” window, and removing the cache directly from the terminal. I know about switching tabs with option+1 / 2 , but still I just want my “File” tab to be the one opening by default again… Thanks in advance to everyone.

Hello,Figma Mirror hasn't been working for few days on my iPhone.It used to work “ok” before but now, every time I want to use Mirror, I just see a black screen no matter what I try. The app correctly shows the selected frame prior to mirroring but as soon as I tap on “Begin mirroring”, I see nothing but a black screen. I tried with different projects... I restarted Figma on macOS... I rebooted my Mac... Yes I know this topic has been raised before, but I would like to raise it again, since it is breaking the core interaction in my design system. Is Figma even aware of this issue? Since the last discussion about it is ~2years ago, and this issue still exists. Steps: Create a Button component set with 2 variants: Default, On Press Add interactions in the variant: “Default” → While pressing → Change to “On Press” Insert an instance of the “Default” button into a new Frame Add interactions to the button: On Click → Open overlay. Check the “Close when clicking outside” box. Test the prototype Results When you click the button, the button change to “On Press”, the overlay opens, but when clicking outside the overlay to close it, the button does not reset back to “Default”. Expected: The button should reset to “Default”.

I have three students who cannot verify their education status here at our college though they have accepted the invite into my team.  SheerID have now prevented their ability to verify. Please advise. 

Hello, our students on our BA programme have been trying to verify their accounts using the option with no email from the college provided (Vakalo Art & Design) and have unfortunately had no luck. Our college does NOT offer students with @vakalo.gr emails as the college professional emails are on Gmail business.There is no option to provide their official student IDs (those are provided), and at this point, they are locked out of their existing accounts, with all their portfolio work out of reach. We are currently at a stall in our academic year because more than 4 modules use Figma as their main tool, which is causing anxiety and frustration among our students.SheerID is really ignoring emails and tickets and have not been helpful. I can’t figure out how to change the layout of an existing slide in Figma Slides. When creating a new slide, I can choose a layout from the theme, but once the slide is added, I can’t find a way to switch it to a different layout.Am I missing something? Often, I realize later that a different layout would work better and want to apply one of the theme’s template layouts to an existing slide—but I don’t see an option to do that. The only option I can find is “Template Style,” which seems to change only text styles and colors, not the layout itself.Is there a way to reapply or change slide layouts after a slide has been created?

I am having the same issue and I have emailed figma education on Thursday and they still have not responded. I emailed sheer id 5 times and they also have closed the ticket without resetting the verification limit. I sent another email to education@figma.com today and still no response. I was using my school email for class and now I am unable to edit any of my school files. I have been waiting for months for a response and resolution. I have the proper documents ready to upload. I was verified before and now I can not do anything. 

Hi ,I’m a graduate student and I’m unable to reverify my students account. Each time i try to verify it says i exceeded my limit. I also tried SheerId multiple times but i get a standard reply saying  “Hello,Thanks for contacting SheerID.We were unable to process your verification request. While we can't offer further details or support for this specific inquiry, please ensure all information submitted is accurate and meets the eligibility criteria for future attempts. Your ticket has now been permanently closed. “ I also tried mailing figma education weeks ago but i have’nt heard back from either. Kindly help me resolve this issue!

I seem to have hit a wall with Figma Make.  At first it wouldn’t update the preview unless I closed the desktop app and reopened it. Now it doesn’t implement any of the prompted changes.  I’ve tried resetting the app and clearing the cache. One possible explanation is that the prototype is for a complex, productiviity tool.  Any other suggestions for troubleshooting. 

Hey Figma team,I wanted to report a problem that’s been bugging our team for the past few months. We have an Icon Library in our design system, as well as a separate glyph library. These icons are used in different sizes across the product (16px, 24px, etc.). The master components of each icon and glyph contain elements which are all set to ‘scale’.However, within our larger components, whenever we want to swap an instance of an icon with a different one from our library, the scaling (of dimensions, stroke width, and border radius) is not properly applied, resulting in a broken view. One example is:We have a nested icon component scaled to 16x16px; We replace the instance with another icon from either library (original component of which is 24x24 but all elements set to scale) and expect it to scale properly to the 16x16 dimensions. However, the swapped icon appears broken in terms of the scale of elements inside, stroke width and border radius; We have to resort to a workaround like:

Hi! Figma Buzz seems to have changed it´s behavior when it comes to bulk creation. Here´s my workflow:design a template graphic in Figma Design with placeholder text copy it over to Buzz import CSV file bulk create Figma Buzz used to create all assets in one new row. So let´s say: my template was in row 1, then bulk create would place all graphics in row 2.But since about maybe 1-2 month (starting Sept./Oct. 2025) it places each graphic in a separate row – which is a pain in the a**.

Hi everyone, I’m running into a serious issue with modals in my Figma file and I’m hoping for some guidance.I worked on several modals in a branch. Everything was correct there, but after merging the branch back into the main file, many of the modals lost their text content and seemed to reset to a default state.What’s confusing is that some modals in the same flow that I did not modify also reset themselves, while others remained unchanged. So the situation is inconsistent: Some modals I edited lost their text and reverted. Some modals I never touched also reverted. Some modals stayed completely fine. This happened right after merging, so I’m unsure if this is related to components, variants, or something with branching behavior. I’ve checked for overrides, but the resets seem unexpected and inconsistent.Has anyone experienced something similar or knows what may cause this? I’m sure that the page is extended to include the entire design content of my pages, but when I publish, some of them are fully viewable and others I can’t scroll to the bottom of them! Sometimes it’s just a little bit, and other times it’s a good 200px worth of content. I’ve tried different browsers and it’s consistent across them.

I have made a simple spinning micro animation component and use instances of it on several frames. the animation works fine on each frame but when transitioning between frames it freezes. I have used smart animate to move between 2 frames with a duration of 3000ms to simulate a progress bar:spinner freezes during smart animate for progress barIs there a way to keep the micro animations animated during the transition? Spinny freezy

I deleted a project a few days ago and would like to restore it. I’m not sure exactly how long it’s been, and when I search for it, no results appear, which suggests it may already be deleted. However, I never received any warning about its permanent removal. How can I check if the project is still available to restore?

My odyssee for verification as educator with SheerID goes on. At 31 Oct I was applying on the Verification Page of Figma once more. When attempting to add the configuration with Amazon Q, the startup process fails due to a non-200 status code. This might be related to Figma’s login requirement, though I’m not certain. I’ve followed the setup instructions outlined in the Figma MCP Server documentation: https://developers.figma.com/docs/figma-mcp-server/remote-server-installation/. However, the documentation does not reference Amazon Q specifically, which suggests that this client may not have been tested yet. For context, I’ve been able to successfully connect to the local version of the MCP Server using Amazon Q.Has anyone gotten this working?Can the Figma team please test with Amazon Q and provide directions about how to proceed? Amazon Q is the offering that our company has chosen to use and many developers are running on Linux machines. This means that their only way to access the MCP server is via the remote option which is currently unavailable to them. 

Hi Figma team and community,I submitted a billing support ticket (#1583127) about 14 hours ago regarding an accidental annual renewal charge, but haven’t received any response yet.  This is quite urgent since it involves a $504 payment that I did not intend to make.Here’s the summary:- Issue type: Billing / refund request (annual plan renewal)- Ticket number: #1583127- Time submitted: 14 hours agoFor context — I accidentally got charged for the annual plan renewal ($500) because I misunderstood the renewal date.  I no longer run my business and had no intention of renewing the plan.  As soon as I noticed the charge, I immediately submitted a refund request through the chatbot and followed up by email.I’ll be on a flight in about 12 hours and won’t be able to respond or take any action for the following 15 hours after that.  **Please treat this as extremely urgent and process the refund as soon as possible.**  I strongly urge the team to prioritize this case before my flight if possible
