Hey guys, lately I have been facing a performance issue with the figma preview funcionality. I work with web design and once I have my design finished I usually visualize the result with the Preview feature. But right now it seems that my CPU and laptop fans go crazy.If I open the preview mode into another dedicated tab to have it fullscreen its even worse and my CPU literally stays in the 95% to 100% range. To make it worst, once I kill the preview tab to stop overloading my CPU, it still remains at 95% to 100% with the fans going crazy, so I need to kill Figma in Task manager and reopen it.The simple solution for now is to not use the preview/presentation functionality, but I would like to see if someone else is suffering from the problem and insights on what can be done. 

Changing dimensions on an object can sometimes be weird.In this example, I have a simple square 32x32, and if i’m trying to use math to change the size, it calculates wrong. I’m curious how other designers handle organization in larger Figma projects.As files grow, it can become harder to keep pages, components, styles, and versions easy to navigate. I’d love to hear what workflows or conventions have worked well for you.For example: How do you structure pages within a file? How do you organize components and variants? Do you use any naming conventions? What do you do when a project becomes difficult to maintain? I’m mainly looking for practical approaches from people who use Figma regularly. Thanks!

Figma preview links, as of 9/17, no longer work for me on Firefox. In fact, I can’t even get to the brand’s figma.com website on Firefox. It is this way on both my work and personal computer. It also isn’t working for my coworker. Are others having this issue?

Hi Figma team and community,I am trying to use Figma MCP (Model Context Protocol) integration in VS Code, but I’m running into a persistent authentication token creation issue that prevents the connection from working. Problem DescriptionWhen I configure mcp.json like this:"figma": {"type": "http","url": "https://mcp.figma.com/mcp"},and start the server in VS Code, a browser opens to https://www.figma.com/oauth/mcp/... where I click “Agree and Allow Access”. It seems that fails then a window in VS Code shows “You have not yet finished authenticating to 'Figma MCP'. Would you like to try a different way? (URL Handler)”, which I click “yes” and it takes me through the same Figma OAuth Access flow in the browser, and re-opens VS Code. After doing this, the Figma MCP server fails to start and I see the following MCP Output Error messages:[warning] Error getting token from server metadata: Error: Failed to create authentication token[info] Connection state: Error 401 status sending message

Similar issues have been happening for a long time. Basically I start to randomly see things like a frame that was set to hug width suddenly become wider, or the content inside a layer suddenly shift.Sometimes it goes back to normal when I click into the layer. Sometimes clicking into it doesn’t help. Sometimes undo/redo fixes it, and sometimes even that doesn’t work. And I need to manually change it back. I never reported it before because I couldn’t figure out how to reliably reproduce the bug. But honestly, when this keeps happening, it makes Figma feel less and less trustworthy. I really hope the team can look into it and fix them soon. 

Hi!Hi!I just updated Figma (126.8.18) and now I have huge problems with simply copying and pasting objects, images, icons or text. When I copy and paste an object (on the left) in to a folder (see dark box on the right) it completely breaks the properties and decimal values. It stretches images and the auto width text feature breaks too and is set to Fixed size with a random / broken decimal value.It happens across all Figma projects. I’ve reset Figma and restarted the application and Mac.Help / Troubleshooting / Reset Figma and RestartCan anyone help?Thanx / F

When I select the frame and if i either preview or present it figma freezes and I have to close and open the figma again. Sometimes it will unfreeze but still I can't see the preview.

I have been trying to access the Figma AI Agent in my design files but I am unable to see the "Agents" option in the left sidebar or the on-canvas prompt.Here are the details of my situation:• Plan: Figma for Higher Education• Seat type: Full seat• Access: Edit access on my design files• AI Credits: 3,000 credits visible in my account• Issue: No "Agents" option visible in the left navigation bar or on canvasMy questions:1. Is the Figma Agent currently available for Higher Education plan users, or is it restricted to Professional, Organization, and Enterprise plans only?2. If it is not currently available for Education plans, is there a timeline for when it will be rolled out?3. Regarding AI credit limits during beta — the current documentation states that the Agent is free during beta and does not consume AI credits. Does this mean usage is unlimited during the beta period, or are there still restrictions

 My Google account associated with my PAID PRO Figma account was disabled, so I’m currently unable to access my Figma account through Google SSO.I’ve already opened case #2139382 with Product Support and am awaiting assistance. I have an active project deadline and need access to the files urgently.Could someone please help me with the account recovery/access issue or direct me to the appropriate team?

Could some one tell me,  if I deleted my account could I get my data back.

This happened just now. When I editing my file, a lots of pics and multiple background colours of the files are all disappeared. They could be choosed and clicked, shown with blue line surrounded, but they just couldn’t be shown and neither could be exported. I’m freakin out right now😭 

When running a prototype in the Figma design file, the prototype sometimes launches from unrelated pages instead of the intended starting frame.Steps to reproduce: Open the Figma design file. Click Present / Play Prototype. Expect the prototype to start from the configured starting frame. Actual result:Instead of starting from the intended frame, the prototype repeatedly opens the same two unrelated pages/frames. The correct prototype flow cannot be accessed while this occurs.Expected result:The prototype should launch from the defined starting frame and follow the configured interactions.Workaround:Closing the file and reopening it temporarily resolves the issue, after which the prototype behaves normally. However, the issue reappears intermittently during later sessions. Notes: Issue appears intermittently. Seems to cache or persist incorrect starting points until the file is reopened.

Hi,I’m experiencing an issue when duplicating a page that uses a design system component with a slot.Steps to reproduce:In a working file, create “Page v1”. Add an instance of a design system component that contains a slot, for example a modal. On “Page v1”, create a local component, for example a data table. Place an instance of this local component inside the modal slot. Duplicate “Page v1” to create “Page v2”.Expected behavior:The component instance inside the slot on “Page v2” should reference the duplicated local component from “Page v2”.Actual behavior:The local component is duplicated correctly on “Page v2”, but the instance inside the slot still references the original component from “Page v1”.This makes duplicated pages unreliable for versioning, because some nested instances still depend on the previous page.Could you confirm if this is expected behavior or a bug?Thanks!

Is there any way to trigger opening a plugin or auto-start a plugin in Figma? For context, we have a project that requires opening, updating, exporting, closing different Figma document automatically. Each time a Figma document is closed the updater plugin is closed. Any time a document is opened, the plugin needs to be manually opened again. So this would break the whole automation. Looks like 3 years ago someone asked this question and the answer was no at the time:  I similarly asked a year ago if auto-start plugins was possible, but at the time they weren’t: Are there any other ways like deeplinks or CLI commands to trigger opening a Figma plugin, or alternatively, any way to keep a plugin open between document open / close states. Ideally with Figma Desktop, but we could work with Figma web as well if it’s possible there. Also, simulating the keyboard shortcut for “Open Last Plugin” isn’t reliable since the user could have opened a different plugin in between. Thanks so much

Is there anyway to bring back the black background for the figma icon?

I’ve been experiencing this issue for several weeks now, and it’s starting to make Figma Motion impossible to use. Within Figma Motion, the colours display correctly (for example, #4D0020), but after exporting, the resulting videos appear noticeably darker (#4D000B).This colour shift significantly impacts the output quality and makes the tool unreliable for production work. I’m hoping this can be resolved as soon as possible, as the tooling and UI are otherwise excellent and very intuitive to use.If anyone has found a workaround or solution, I’d really appreciate hearing about it. 

I’m trying to connect a custom MCP client directly to the Figma Remote MCP Server:https://mcp.figma.com/mcpI understand that Figma’s documentation currently says only clients listed in the MCP Catalog can connect.Could someone from Figma confirm:Is there currently a supported process for a custom MCP client to connect to the Remote MCP Server? If so, is any registration, approval, or specific Figma plan required? For a custom client requiring OAuth, should a Figma OAuth App Client ID/Client Secret be used, or does the Remote MCP Server use a different OAuth flow?I’m specifically asking about a custom MCP client connecting to Figma's Remote MCP Server, not creating a custom MCP connector inside Figma Make or Figma Agent.Thanks!
