I have free access to figma through my university email. My university email will expire around 12 months from my graduation (12 month grace period). I will be graduating in mid-december. Does that mean I’ll have access to figma till atleast the end of this year? I was planning to pay for a yearly subscription starting Jan 1 on my personal email acount. But I also dont want to risk losing my files that are currently on my Uni account.

My Figma Education Plan was renewed about one month ago, and everything was working normally. However, today my plan suddenly changed to the Free plan even though the renewal date has not ended yet.Is there any usage limit on the Figma Education Plan? 

Hello!I tried re verification for FIGMA student, but it was showing network error even though network was good, and continuously trying it was still showing the same error.Then it started showing Verification limit exceeded.So I contacted sheerID via mail, they responded with:We were unable to process your verification request. And Your ticket has now been permanently closed.I mail them again and again still got no solution.. If it's possible resetting the verification limit, please do it.Please provide the solution for this issue otherwise I won't be able to re verify student plan.I have also attached the image for better clarification. 

Using Firefox browser, any time I deselect an object in Figma (frames, images, etc), a gray box that says “paste” appears next to my cursor and moving the mouse automatically triggers a box-select (as if I were holding and dragging the mouse). I have to press Esc to make the “paste” box go away and click somewhere without selecting anything to make the box-select go away. This happens any time I deselect anything. This means that if I accidentally select something using the bug-induced box-select, it loops me back into the bug. It is hugely obtrusive to getting any work done.

Hi I registered for a Figma zoom meeting but I wasn’t able to make it. Can I still access the zoom meeting somewhere or be sent it through email?

I have a prototype embedded into a slide and that works great, But when I embed the slides file on my Square Space site I get the “www.figma.com refused to connect.” error message and the prototype doesn’t load. I searched and made sure all the permissions are set correctly. Is this a bug or some security setting within the browser?  Any help will be appreciated, for now I have a work around that opens the prototype in a new window via a text link but that is clunky.  

During Figma Schema 2025 they announced upcoming support for extended variable collections and native variable export/import conforming with the DTCG token specification.It was announced during this session: Here is a screenshot of what they were proposing:An update to the app dropped a few days ago with extended collections but I cannot find how to export variables to JSON (without using a plugin).I don’t have the “Export modes” option in my dropdown menu, even with our Enterprise account.Has anyone got that feature and how do you do it?

Hi! I’ve been having trouble getting my Figma account back to an Education account, even though SheerID confirmed that I re-verified my account on September 11 (Verification ID: 68c1ab53f897ce280a8b5dff), which was before the September 29 deadline. SheerID mentioned that since the verification on their side was approved, the issue now lies specifically with the offer redemption process on Figma's side.I’ve sent education@figma.com several emails since about my issue, but I never received a reply. I’d really appreciate any help to be able to re-access Figma Education for my student work! Thank you in advance. 

The controls for component properties appear twice when in slides mode. Not the end of the world but kinda annoying to work with some dropdowns. Surfacing this as it does not look like intended behavior.Card in design modeExact same card in slides mode

I noticed that after the last update some of my nested components are broken in sizing/scaling. I would reload my library after publishing and half the instance across various screens would take off. Specifically the components are getting bigger somehow. For instance this image component, nested in a product card, should be as is in the version on the bottom, after reloading the component from the ds library the image is bigger. Or the stamp in the footer is correctly inserted in the beige space in DS itself but as an instance it seems to enlarge quite a bit. This happens with images, icons, other assets like stamps etc. It seems that it needs me to manually redo everything now (copy-pasting from DS library, editing etc) and i do not have that type of time/budget for this big of a project. 

I am working with Figma for about 3 years and it is a wonderful software. Speed used to be awesome in the beginning. It changed after a while and now it is really a pain to open files, select frames and resize areas. It starts blocking my work. You read always “Empty the cache...” I did but no change. Please dear Figma team realize that there is a problem that needs your attention.

The instructions page for saving a local copy does not mention this anywhere. But I’m wondering what “save partial file” actually does. I had always assumed that it would at least save the variables, but not any image assets. But I would like confirmation on this. Sometimes I clone a file just for the variables (dont need all the other stuff in it) and I use “save partial file” to do this quickly. Is this a safe assumption or??

Resolved: After 1h or so it fixed itself~ :) 

When I click the Share button and then close the modal, pressing the spacebar to pan around the canvas in Figma reopens the Share modal instead. I have to press Escape first—presumably to return focus to the canvas—before the spacebar works normally again.

Hi Figma Team,I’m a student in Boston. I'm having problems verifying my student account for Figma, even though I have official information to verify my student status, and now exceeded the number of attempts.I looked up multiple forum posts about similar cases as mine, and the advice I read is to contact SheerID support directly & to ask them to reset my attempts. I've done those advises twice, explained my case to them, but they replied that with a template email that they can't help and that they closed the ticket immediately without any further attempt to support or investigate for both requests (attached are proof).  I also saw a forum saying that I should try contacting 

i tried to re-verify my education plan tied to the email- (redacted by the moderator due to PII)its been a long time and im still not able to access the features an educational plan has. its just like using a free plan. im getting this ‘successfully verified’ message but its doing nothing. I need an education plan as im doing an internship and in my second year of bachelors. kindly look into the problem.  regards and thanks, mrunmayee dandekar

I made the components for the icons in the following manner:The outer frames of the Icons have autolayout 24px width and length, and the vector inside has 22px the biggest length or width. The vector has ignore autolayout on, with scale and center on, the width and height have a locked aspect ratio. When resizing them in a component, like for example a button, they were scaling perfectly fine for at least 4 months, but now the outer frame scales well, while the vector is still 24px. When I click it sometimes, it goes back to how it needs to be scaled. Did anyone encounter this issue recently?

HI everyone. I’m trying to play with new extended collection. Suggested workflow mentions to EXPORT current modes, delete them and then re-import them into Extended collection.  The issue is that I do see Extended collections, so the feature has been propagated to my account, but I dont see Import / Export mode functionality in the contextual menuAny Idea?

Figma's UI already supports RTL/LTR text direction and shows a direction toggle in the sidebar. But this property isn't available through the Plugin API.Is there a reason textDirection isn't exposed on TextNode? It would be really helpful for building RTL ↔ LTR layout conversion tools. Right now we're stuck using textAlignHorizontal as a workaround, which doesn't fully replicate how native RTL text behaves.Would love to see something like textDirection: 'LTR' | 'RTL' | 'AUTO' added to the API. Is this on the roadmap?

I am using a professional plan but have suddenly lost access to plugins. They are now blocked by a popup that wants to convert the account to a full seat. I updated Figma this morning but the issue remains. All plugins are triggering this popup when selected.Would appreciate any help to resolve this bug as I’m unable to export variables which is a big issue for development. Clicking Actions and then selecting a plugin The plugin is blocked with this popup and there is no option to just use the plugin
