how come my properties tab/panel won't show up?

First picture is mine and the second one is from a youtube tutorial. But what’s in the 2nd picture won’t show up on my screen in the first picturem why?

Some changes aren't updating in the prototype view

Has anyone had the problem lately of making design changes, but they aren’t updating in the prototype view? This doesn’t happen all the time, but when it does I need to refresh the prototype tab for the changes to appear. For example I just added a banner to one of my frames and the banner didn’t show up in my prototype until I refreshed the tab. I’ve also noticed it with smaller changes such as adding borders to elements, and the borders don’t appear. If this is a bug it could be affecting viewers of my prototypes too, who won’t always be seeing the latest version and won’t know it. Or there will be missing elements and the prototype will look broken to them. I use the desktop app so haven’t confirmed if this is a problem in the browser as well.

How can I import or edit SVGs in Figma via the API?

Hi everyone,I’m working on a backend pipeline that generates SVG files and I’d like to automate sending them into Figma—or at least programmatically editing existing SVG layers—without manual uploads. I’ve looked through the Figma REST API and Plugin API docs but haven’t found any endpoints for SVG import or direct layer manipulation. Is there a supported way to upload/import an SVG file into a Figma document via API? Can I modify existing SVG nodes or layers in a Figma file programmatically? I’ve considered the Plugin API, but it’s not suitable because it always requires opening the Figma interface and manually running the plugin. Does the Figma Enterprise plan offer any additional API capabilities or endpoints for SVG import/editing that aren’t available on lower tiers? Are there any SDKs, undocumented endpoints, or plugin-based workarounds you’d recommend? Any pointers to documentation, examples, or community plugins would be hugely appreciated. Thanks in advance!

How do I reposition an image fill set to "fit"?

I'm working in someone else's file. They have a frame with an image fill set to "fit". The image is flush left to the frame. When I replace the image with a similar 1:1 photo it becomes centered in the frame. How do I reposition it?Video recording.

Stretching a frame, and changing component variants inside based on width

I have an alert component that has a different look depending on its width - at narrow it lays out vertically, and when wider it has a more horizontal layout. There are min- and max-widths setup so that the narrow version can’t go wider than 719, and the horizontal can’t go narrower than 720.What I want now is to build a frame to contain this alert component (which is set to fill container), that when stretched will automatically set the correct alert variant inside it. The vertical variant has a max-width of 719px, and the horizontal variant has a min-width of 720 - I want a frame that when stretched wider than 719 automatically switches to the other variant. I’m pretty sure I can do this with variables and modes but I’m not familiar enough with them to figure it out on my own - I would love it if someone has an example file, or anything similar, to point me to.

Help with type spacing

Hello, relatively new to Figma. Need some help with spacing. Not sure why my spacing is different between the first line (two grid squares for ref) and the second (one grid square for ref). I’m just looking for my text box to follow my line height when resizing the boundaries of it. Any help would be great, I’m sure it’s something simple I’m missing. Thank you

How to downgrade seats without paying more?

I have 4 full seats that we’ve been paying for.  3 need only dev mode access.  When trying to downgrade the users, it says I will be billed additionally for the 3 users I need to downgrade.  I don’t want additional 3 additional dev seats, I want 1 full and 3 dev.  How do I do this?  I keep getting prompted that each change will be an addition, not a change???

Component changes not updating instances

I am having issues with master component updates relaying to instances throughout my file. I have a master button component and when trying to update the height of the master, nothing is changing with my instances. I have tried to Repair Component Connections and Regenerate All Instances with no luck. I’m still pretty amateur in my Figma experience, so I could be missing something obvious. Any suggestions that save me creating a new master or just updating each individual button are appreciated.

How do you set a percentage value in a variable?

hover animation problem

I created a hover button, my goal was when I click on the button, it should divide in three parts like retro style, I kinda achieved it, but the problem I faced was, when I previewed it, the button was kind of bouncing or dancing, I rechecked everything and everything was fine, can anyone tell me the solution.

Where is my cursor cat?

 Hi! I just started using Figma and today I lost my cat jumping after the cursor. He was here just five days ago and now he's gone. Maybe I accidentally pressed some hotkeys and that's why he disappeared... Please help me find him😭😭😭

How can I recreate the subtle edge fade and unique icon style seen in this UI design?

Help with a dropdown tickbox menu please!

The content in the figma file is missing

My figma file would automatically delete some content from my design draft, resulting in a large area of content being lost. Even after I retrieved it from the historical files, the content would still continue to be lost. I felt very panicked

Problem with the z-index of my cards component on hover

Hello, i’m going back to figma after a while without practicing so i’m doing some project for fun. I only learned it during 1 year of school so i don’t have all the tips. I’m actually trying to do a little database of a video game i like and it’s been some days i’m stuck with this problem (see the image below). I have cards with the full art of my characters and i created components to have a portrait of them on hovering. But when i hover, the card is coming on the front over the filters. And i really don’t know what i’ve done wrong here.The cards components are set in “open overlay”, in “manual” position. And they are not inside anything, they are free (second image).If someone have any clues or ideas of what my problem is, i’ll be glad to listen ! And i can give other informations if you need Example of my prototypeLeft are the components (portrait) and right is my main page.My layers are like this. How do you sort your variants?

I previously asked if anyone at Figma is in fact using components with more than 10 variants and care about sorting them? I asked why they did away with the pill-shaped list that was better? Looks like they keep pushing this absolute garbage vertical list that most of the time cannot be reordered and the same time waste a lot of space on the right hand side of the variant names.I reported this several times, sorting of variants is either not working or is at best clunky when it does.Today, yet again, I am not able to sort / reorder my variants. This keeps coming back again and again, it’s ridiculous already.Now I genuinely ask myself if this is actually a Figma feature or I am very, very stupid? Since I hover over a variant, click to grab it, drag it around, and not only it will not scroll down in that garbage list but will also release that variant IN A RANDOM PLACE. Like what --?So I would like to know if this works for You and IF it does -how you are doing it / where I am wrong?? Ar
