What happens to a Secret Team (and any possible files therein) if the member who created it is removed from the organisation? I’m an org admin and I need to remove an ex-employee, but I noticed that he created a Secret team. Obviously I’m currently not able to see if there are any projects or files within this team. What will happen to them if I do remove his access?

Hi! Are mode_ids unique within a file or are they only unique within a collection? We assumed they were unique within the file, but have recently encountered duplicate mode_ids, so was wondering whether this is a bug or not 🤔

I am building a complex prototype where users can switch settings from light to dark mode. Also, the user can swap the accent color based on some predefined colors (think Buttons color and hyperlinks) … how do I set it up so that when someone selects a color and then swaps to light or dark mode, it all kind of works?

Hi all, the “back” interaction doesn’t work within variables of a “cross icon” component, in a components-driven prototype. The “cross icon” is not a stroke, it’s a normal path and I have followed Figma’s suggestions to group the arrow in a frame and make the frame interact (not the arrow itself) but this doesn’t work neither, I have even tried to add the interaction into multiple other elements. It seems to be linked to the variables, if I do not use variables and only artboards, the back interaction works, but not to change a variable to another.

Hi, I have a component (product tile) with two variants (small and large). I also have another component with the small variants of component 1. I made 2 different instances of component 2. I would like to be able to when clicking on an instance, it opens it in another frame in large, is this possible? Thank you in advance <3

On my auto layout layer, there is a frame wrap around my auto layout icon, and it also cause this current auto layout content is overlapping with its sibling (also auto layout, I wrap them within a parent auto layout frame). Does anyone know what this icon mean and how this is happen and how to fix it back to normal auto layout? thank you!!

After copying and pasting Connector line from FigJam into a Figma file, searching for “Connector line” in the layers panel does not return any results. When annotation text is added to the lines and searched, it matches as Text. What I want to do is to select Connector lines in bulk in Figma.

Hello everyone, I am using Figma’s REST API to integrate my software with Figma. I need to read and write the variables from a file. I’ve created an API key with read and write access to the variables, and I can read it, but whenever I try to write to it, I get the error: ‘403: Invalid account type’. What could be causing this error? I know it is probably permission that needs to be granted, but when requesting permission from the company where I work, what type of permission do I need to request from them? Or type of account do I need to have?

Hey, is there any way to switch back to the old UI? Working full week with a bottom menu bar and keep looking for old features still. For some of them, need to click on the far right button to search… I can’t find blend modes for images anymore at all.

I keep running into instances where I am on a master component layer and it won’t let me make edits to it. I have made sure that it is in fact the master component and that all layers are unlocked. What am I missing?

I’m going to my first job interview for a junior UX designer and I’ve been asked to bring my portfolio with me, but I don’t know how I should take it. Should I print it out or can I take it digitally via USB? When I try to print it out, it becomes too large and distorted.

When I share my ‘slides’ only the first page is viewable to the recipient and they can’t progress through the presentation when viewing on their browser. Does the recipient need Figma to view? That would be unfortunate….

Hey People, Relatively new on Figma… Just opened Figma, on safari web browser, after a few days and found that i cannot use the Text Tool. When i use it nothing types. I can make the text box and it’s recognised in the layers but no typing (screenshot below). Cannot add a stroke to the text box either. I think ive understood it to be because all my fonts have disappeared?! Not sure why. These are default fonts that Figma has, not my own downloaded fonts. I can see the text boxes and the fonts on all my projects, with the font names, but cannot edit them or start a new text box. After searching the Community, seems its happened to someone before and was advised to download the Font Installer (Figma Downloads | Web Design App for Desktops & Mobile) which i have and still not working. Restarted my MacBook, closed all tabs, refreshed the page, started a new file etc still not working. Would appreciate any help…

So I made a slider component that fills the track color when a value is entered into the “horizontal gap between items” field. The track fill happens becase that value pushes the slider post to the number entered. It would sure be nice if… If I could figure out how to set the value on my text label to whatever is entered into the gap field. I added a variable to the text and called it “SliderMark.” All I want to do is write a conditional interaction that basically says: Set the variable “SliderMark” to whatever is entered into the “horizontal gap between items” field. Anyone know how I could pull this off? I can make a conditional variable that says “if this changes, do it.” But I don’t think there is a way to pull the value of a gap field and apply it to a variable. Right? Why could we not just add an item to the gap field option to “set variable to this value” or something less-wordy. We can apply a variable to the field, great…but I was to set a variable to the value of the field!

Hi, I was wondering if it is possible to align an object to the very end of a text block so that if the text breaks, the object will continue to stay at the end. Absolute positioning is not an option because the text has a text property and will therefore have different lengths in the instance.

The general consensus for best practice, as well as what I see in most pro UI kits for sale, seems to be importing a huge set of icons as SVG individually in the Figma design system files, and creating one component out of each icon with a vector layer only, and building components using icons based on that. However, one of the more “traditional” or long standing icon providers, FontAwesome, provides the option to use a simpler component that uses an underlying OS or Figma hosted font to speficy which icon should be displayed (and a custom component can even be made to use Figma styles to simplify it). And then, for hand-off, the same FontAwesome provider has an easy tool to generate custom SVG sprites based on what icons are used overall in the project. So, it would seem win-win ? So my question is, how do more senior designers feel about this versus the import method ? Hi, I need a solution for these, thank you: Before I changed my pc, every tab on Figma app was opening very quickly, but now it takes 1-2 minut to open. Also, Figma apps goes offline often. When I’m going to close the app after a session, it tells me that I’m offline and my changes won’t be saved. My internet connection is the same as it was on my previous pc.

Would someone be able to help me find deleted sections? I deleted a file after duplicating it, can’t find either of them.
