Why do blend modes stop working after a layer blur is added?

Im not sure if it’s a bug or something, but adding a layer blur to an object that has some sort of blending mode set, will just reset it back to normal… at least visually. It’s still set as the blending mode i set it to, it just acts as if it were set to normal;

im not really sure if there’s a way to fix it
