Hello. I’m simply trying to center align two lines. There are no snap to grids or anything like that on and it will not align properly. PLEASE HELP thank you!

In the old UI, it was here: In the new UI, a button that looks similar in the “Appearance” group (which has no tooltip) just brings up a list of variables. I’m probably looking right at it, but I don’t see it. Not sure what applying a variable here would even do.

Since the latest variable update, the way to add a property to a bunch of variables in my component has become alot more complex. Now i can’t select multiple and add in a property but i find i have to rename it in my layers panel for the option to show up in the properties panel, and then apply that property to all the other ones. Unsure if related to the variable update, but now when i go back into my projects i find parts of my designs are literally blank until i double click the component then it refreshes and comes back? it’s very strange. Also moving the ‘go to main component’ button has been really annoying as now i have to right click to go back when i used to just be able to click the shortcut button. If there was a way to customise my shortcuts that would be ideal.

After I import Figma UI Kit all I see is grey boxes in Canvas App. What am I missing? ImgBB

Hello! I recently successfully verified myself as a student to get access to a professional plan. However, when browsing through my account, I couldn’t find a certain place in which I could verify my account status as a student, nor I can find how to check for how long it will last. I know that I can now create new professional workspaces, as well as upgrade my free one. However, before updating my workspace, I’d like to know if there’s a way to keep track of not only when and how it expires, but also if there’s anything I have to be aware of when/if it downgrade back to a free space (such as members losing access to files, or anything that could reorganize my files and projects in an unexpected way). I had a Figma Organization account when we had enough number of teams. But now we have shrink down our team number and currently we only require Professional plan. So, is it possible to downgrade from Organization plan to a Professional Plan? Does anyone knows how to downgrade the Organization plan? Has anyone got any leads regarding this, gone through the Support team, and was successful at downgrading an existing plan?

Dear Community, I have a problem with a variant property in Figma. I made a card as a component with different sizes and states. States and sizes are variants with different values: e.g. variant “size” with value “320w” or “480w” and each variant has a different state “default”, “selected” with blue color. I placed the different cards on a screen (as instant of the component “card” with the properties “320w” and state “default” and tested it, there are cards with different values of ther property on a screen. I selected the right card with the right variant (size, vstate) in design mode, but in protoype mode there are suddenly differnt cards from other variants on the screen. I don´t know where the problem is?

I’m looking for a way to add meta data to component instances. So like instance specific documentation, which is available in the inspect panel to viewers. Is there any way to do such a thing in Figma? Thanks in advance! 🙂

Hello, the “apply blend mode” button doesn’t work for me – nothing happens when I press it. But I can change the blend mode in files where the blend mode is already applied. I tried different files, rebooted my laptop, but this has been going on for four days already. How can I fix this?

After latest update I’m experiencing intermittent bugs: Often shapes cannot be edited. Pressing enter does nothing, button to edit object is not available. This happens when editing master components in file that I own, so it should be editable and was editable before update. When shape is not bugged and can be edited, pressing enter sometimes does not show points. Sometimes it works as expected - usually on first attempt to edit it is bugged, on second it works. Anyone experiencing same bugs?

Setting the scene: I’ve got an ‘after delay’ animated component that is fixed position over a sidebar (also fixed position). This page is scrollable, so the main content is longer than the frame size (This is important) The problem: These components have some animation on them. When the animation starts, it ignores the layer order and does the animation underneath the sidebar. Once the animation has stopped, they then get set to be above the sidebar. This means you don’t see the animation and the component is invisible until it ‘stops’ the animations. fixes (Hacks): create an entire ‘sidebar’ component and have the animated components inside that group or frame all of the components. my understanding of why its doing this: With my limited understanding of how Figma is built, it seems like the z-index is being applied at the fixed layers route level items but not to the animations, causing animations to be displayed “bottom first” and then swapped once the animation has ended. Even though I’m working on the same project in both the desktop application and browser, certain commands fail to execute in the browser while working perfectly on the desktop app. Since I use the browser more frequently, this issue disrupts my workflow. For instance: When I select a specific area in a paragraph and press cmd+b or cmd+u, it doesn’t work in the browser. However, these commands function flawlessly in the desktop application. Another example is with fixed. When I set a frame to fixed and check it in preview mode in the browser, it doesn’t work. However, switching to the desktop app, removing, and reapplying the fixed setting resolves the issue. I’m using an older interface version on both the browser and the application. If possible, I would appreciate guidance on how to update both the desktop application and the browser version of Figma.

It is very anoying trying to add grids on children frames because all grids even on separated frames appear with no reason. It has been imposible for me implementing grids since the las update. I have tried using groups but still not work.

Is the first draft feature not available on pro plan? its not showing on my action button, anyone who can help me? it would help me so much please help me.

hey folks, I’m sticking some debug messages on my prototype to help me work out where I am in my flow and I’d like to be able to show current frame name. Anyone know a way I can do that?

So a weird bug is happening to me. The scenario:Figma – 26 Sep 22 I have an autolayout object (Red) Set to hug/hug. The inner shape is a fixed size random object. Once i grab this object and place it into another autolayout frame, then it turnos into fill/hug I often meet this bug, and it does not happen to every autolayout frame, so im in the quest to find what causes it. When i encounter this, my usual workaround is to wrap the red object with a regular frame, then move it into the autolayout container, and then dismiss the regular frame. That way it keeps being hug/hug. You will find a replica object in green, which i created the same way as the other, but that one behaves as expected and does not change to fill on any axis. Did you ever encounter this? Do you have a solution? Can you help me find out? Thanks in advance!

Hi all, I am new to Figma and I am not a developer… I have just changed my role in the company I work for and trying to move toward the design-side. I have just created in Figma - let’s say like an exercise - some frames for a web application choosing the 1440px preset wireframe but I’m not sure which size the texts should have in the wireframe to obtain a “realistic” preview … if I run the prototype or just play the presentation of the frames the texts seem too big to me but I don’t know if it is just a matter of resizing them in the frames or maybe a lack of responsiveness or … what? I wait for your advice. Which text size do you usually choose for a 1440 wireframe? Thanks

The screenshot2design plugin is not working, every time I try to run it it says server error. I’m new here, someone please let me know how to fix this.
