Occasionally I’ll see this cloud icon at top right, warning me that my file isn’t saving. What’s interesting is that I always have several files open, and while sometimes more than one file will show this icon it’s never every file. It’s not the whole app, it’s just file to file. Some files are saving, some aren’t, and I can’t figure out what to do about it. Obviously it’s disconcerting to work on something that I know isn’t saving - what can I do about it? -I’m marking this as solved because people need to see Mike’s post, but “solved” is very much in quotes because the fix is a hack - it’s a workaround for a problem Figma hasn’t fixed yet.

I know that it isn’t really possible to navigate to a nested frame(s) but I really need a solution for this.What I want to do: Home page with a selection of projects  When a project is clicked, it navigates to a frame (ex. WORKS_ARCWAVE) inside top frame (ex. WORKS) but the whole frame (WORKS) remains scrollable so each project doesn’t have to be on a different page (frame)   This way the menu on home page is useless as it would always bring you to the top of WORKS page and I’m wondering if there is any way to make what I want possible. 

So, basically I am making an OTT app design, where the elements are supposed to move horizontally, but after putting them in auto layout, setting their frame to same as that of og frame, and doing everything, im getting this weird blank spaces on both sides, tried padding aswell. I am trying to horizontally scroll two frames inside a parent frame. While the scroll is working fine, there is an issue of extra white space occurring at the start and the end of the scroll. I am not able to get this issue fixed for some time now and seeking help for the same. Attached are the screenshots of the screen.

Basically I have a component which is always in the background of the design. When a toggle link is clicked I want to hide this in the prototype - and display it when the toggle clicked again. So basically the element shows/hides when another, separate element is clicked. I’ve setup a local boolean variable called “Grid Visible” which has the values true/false. I’ve then ensured the background component has this applied to it in the Layers panel by right clicking the eye icons and applying “Grid Visible” to it. If I go back to the Local Variables panels and click the “Value” so it slides between true/false the visibility of the component disappears and reappears - so that’s all working! But when I try to Prototype I can get the link (which is in a totally separate component) to work with “On Click” and then “Set Variable” or “Conditional”. This is what I currently have (below). I have a TextNode that can include Rich Text. What would be the best approach to recognise style changes such as bold text, line breaks (These come as \n in the .characters property of the node), bullet points, etc.I’ve tried various methods, I managed to identify bold text using getStyledTextSegmentshttps://www.figma.com/plugin-docs/api/properties/TextNode-getstyledtextsegments/But I didn’t find a way to detect when the TextNode has bullet points.I basically need this because I’m converting the TextNode to HTML, so I need to be able to reliably identify every rich text property.Thanks in advance.

Please tell what will happen to the pages, if, having a Professional plan subscription, I create for example 30 pages inside one file. And will have only one file inside my only one project in the team. By canceling the subscription, will I be able to edit all 30 pages or not?Thanks to everyone who knows the answer and could share the info!

Hello there, I have downloaded an Avatar plug in and after using it , it sits on the bottom right side of my screen. it is animated and so my eye is constantly drawn to it. How do I get rid of it?

I have a prototype with two pages, each having a button to navigate to the other page. If I open the prototype on a laptop and press the button, it transitions to the second page. I want to know if it's possible to have this interaction also reflect in real-time on another device (e.g., a phone) that is viewing the same prototype simultaneously.Is there a way to achieve this in Figma natively, or are there plugins/tools that can enable real-time synchronization between devices for prototypes? After the last update of the desktop version of movies for Windows, I cannot log in to the account in the application. When I launch the application, this window is displayed:   After clicking on the "Login with browser" button, this window appears:And nothing else happens. In other words, the authorization window does not open in the browser. I have already tried logging into the company in the browser and opening the project in the application from there, but it doesn't work and the application opens a window for me where it asks me to log in through the browser. How can this problem be solved?Browser: opera. Hello everyone, I hope someone from Community Support can help me. Someone from Community Support has already helped me by sending me the expiration date of my education plan: 2025-02-08. Just checking if this means the 8th of February, 2025? I have a question regarding my education plan. Before it expires, I'd like to switch to a paid professional plan to retain all my projects and files. What's the best way to do this? Is it possible to convert my education plan into a paid professional plan? If so, can I change the associated school email (which I no longer have access to) to a personal one? Or would it be better to create a new account and assign my projects to that account? Thanks in advance for the help :)

Hey!Recently (Maybe last 6months) we have experienced Figma becoming more and more unstable/unreliable. We are using Branches on a daily basis for version handling and have had multiple errorsrecently, different documents & for different users.- Merge errors, not being able to merge, figma giving some generic error and then it usually solves it self eventually.- Documents not saving & with “forever” loading states stating its “saving” but it never manages to save, giving errors when you try to close figma documents. Usually you end up having to close and hope it saved anyway.- Unable to Publish Libraries, generic error with “retry option” but result is the same every time you “retry”, it keeps giving errors.- Libraries stating Variables have been removed when trying to publish, after restarting Figma the statement is no longer there and publishing library works as intended.Are others experiencing same issues? Is Figma becoming more convoluted with more functions and thus becomi

Hi!  I am new to being a system admin of Figma for Intuit.  We have at least 8 different engineering design team combos and many of our users don’t know what version they need so they will just request a paid design seat.  I want to change this and drive a process that requires more thought about what type of seat is being provisioned.    Thanks in advance for your help - it seems these concepts are intentionally vague unless you are in the product all day! Here it goes: I understand what Dev Mode is - for a front end dev being able to inspect the properties of a file for front end coding.  I also fully understand that Design in View Only mode gives access/comment to a file but not edit.   so……  what is view only Dev Mode?  Is it the same thing as view only design giving users the ability to view comment and edit the file but not view the properties as a developer inspecting the file?  My goal is to move the thought process as the prices are going up to where people are not just willy

We are working on a project where we need to flip icons horizontally using Figma APIs. Is there a location I can find the download link for an older version of the desktop app for Mac?

Hi there, We have hidden components in a page called “_Blueprints” that are not published. Then, we have a component with an instance swap property, which contains some of these hidden components as preferred value. Logically, these are not published, so the users do not see the preferred values nor can find the components when they use our library. I see the option “Publish all preferred values”, so I thought this was going to publish ONLY the components set as preferred value, can someone please confirm this? It is unclear, as after clicking it, I can see the list of ALL the components that are hidden, (including the ones I want), and it says “These won’t be published” On top of that, the “Publish” button is disabled. I just don’t want to publish all hidden components, only the ones referred as preferred value, which shouldn’t be accessed when searching through the library… Would love some help on this, I have seen a few similar topics but with no workaround… 🙂 Many thanks!

Hello Team,I’m trying to retrieve an image from Figma files using the Figma REST API endpoint. I’m currently using the GET Image API - https://www.figma.com/developers/api#get-images-endpoint to obtain the image URL.With this API, I’m successfully able to retrieve an image URL that remains valid for 30 days.I have a couple of questions regarding this: The image URL obtained through this API is public, and I can access the image without requiring any authentication or tokens. Is there a way to enforce authentication for accessing the image? The image URL is valid for 30 days. Is it possible to modify the expiration timestamp? Also, is there any usage limit on using REST API?  Looking forward to your insights.Thank you!

Hi!I am trying to make these 5 toggles dependent on each other by row so that only one can be on at a time. To add, I have about 100 of these, and would love if once they are selected as “home,” they go to the bottom of the list. I would much appreciate any help!

I just wanna report problem what I got. for the background, I have string variables with two mode language. When I switch to dev-mode and click tridots to check variable, variable detail modal doesnt appears. Where the problem came from? from library, account or file? 

I ran into the maximum indentation level when documenting component structures. Incredibly, I almost got by because I needed up to 6 levels where only 5 are supported. Why is this limitation even in place?
