Cannot log into Figma on VSCode extension

Hello !

I know that figma extension in VSCode is in beta, but when i installed the plugin in VSCode and then tried to click on the Log in button to login my Figma account, nothing happens.

Does anybody else has the same issue ?

Thank you for the reply. I was able to get this working after suspending my local firewall application which appears to block the Websocket port used by the VSCode Figma extension. Hope this helps.

Caroline, you are not alone. I am experiencing the same issue. Have you found a solution by any chance?

Thanks for flagging this! Our engineers are aware of this issue and are still working on resolution but it may take some time to resolve.

In the meantime, can you check to see if you’re able to login from within the Dev Mode panel in one of your files? For instructions, please check out the steps in the article link below:

Since it is something other customers are experiencing, we will be sure to share update in our release notes.

Hi there,

Could you check the network settings as described below? Here are the steps from the help center article:

You can also open the Network settings modal using the Check network settings quick action. To perform the quick action:

  1. Open a Figma Design or FigJam file.
  2. Use the keyboard shortcut to access the quick action bar:
  • Mac: ⌘ Command or ⌘ Command P
  • Windows: Control / or Control P
  1. Type “Check network settings” in the quick action bar.
  2. Press Return or Enter to perform the quick action.

If network issues are found, the Network settings modal will display.

So I also have this issue. I don’t have a firewall turned on but not sure how the network is configured at my employer. I have tried the `Check network settings` and it fails on the “Publish a library `POST`”. So I guess I need to submit a request for the network admins to allow that?

 

EDIT: Had to downgrade the plugin and then it worked.

EDIT 2: It logged me out as soon as I tried opening something. Now I can’t log in again. Just endless loop.
