I need help with swapping variables for a new library on FigmaI’m creating a design system that needs to swap the associated branding: colors, fonts, corner-radius, and border-stroke to be switched out. And the way that we do it on the component level is by switching the libraries (to the new ones), but Figma’s feature “swap libraries” doesn’t work with variables, only with styles and components.I tried to find a plugin that could do it properly, but the plugins that I found only change the variables available on the page, and don’t change directly the variables pointed on the variables panel.Has anyone faced the same issue? How did you fix it?

Hi everyone,I want to subscribe Professional Account on Figma (individual subscription), but I was invited to join an Educational Team. I’m wondering if it’s possible to be part of an Educational Team while maintaining my Professional subscription.

I am trying to create a dropdown widget that displays a calendar. I want it to appear over the top of other elements on the screen when the user clicks the widget.I have tried setting the canvas stacking to ‘first on top’ for the component variant, but I still can’t get it to work. Is there something that I’m missing? I have tried to attach some screenshots to this question but they would not upload. Please help, this is driving me nuts! 😂Best,Hannah 

Hi! I am new to Figma, and I was learning about how to use Auto Layout. I got all my components into the right spot, and when I change the dimensions of the frame they’re in, they adjust accordingly. When I run it and preview the frame in a different devices however, the entire frame itself just sticks out and doesn’t fit the screen. Here is an image showing what I see As you can see, there are still some black spaces. I was wondering how I could make it so that the frame will always have width and height dimensions that change depending on whatever screen I choose, so that one design fits all. Thank you in advance for your help

I’m working on updating my company’s design system. I am working on checkboxes and am struggling to get the line-height right, for lack of a better word. Before I begin: I understand that fonts/text display different in different browsers-- I am not worried about that. I am worried about getting the text correctly aligned in Figma while using standard styles so our engineers can use Dev mode. If I need to set inconsistent spacing for components in Figma, Dev mode won’t be useful for our engineering team. Like many companies, we use Source Sans Pro. I noticed that Source Sans Pro’s line-height seems to be off. If I have text center aligned, the descenders are cut off. If this was for only text like a paragraph, this would be fine. But since the text needs to be aligned with other elements, I’m not sure what to do. I also checked how Illustrator handled this. Hi, I’m having a very bizarre issue with my Figma prototype. Some of the frames being displayed in the prototype are old versions of my design. Even though I have deleted these old frames and replaced them with new frames, the old version of the frame is being shown in the prototype. For example, the text shown in the frame is the old text rather than the text that I see in my design, and the position of elements is completely different than what I see in my design. I have double checked to make sure these old frames / text are deleted, and they are. The only thing that seems to fix this issue is completely rebuilding the frames from scratch, which is a lot of work. In summary, some of my frames seem to be “dead” or broken, where the way they look in the design is not what is displayed in the prototype. Unfortunately, I cannot share my file because the work is confidential. Has anyone had a similar issue / have debugging ideas? Thank you!

Hello, the AI tools are not available for me in FIgma Beta, is there anything i can do to have access to this?

I tried editing my variables but I am facing confusion as I forgot which variables are used in my frame. I tried using cmd+f to search by name as we normally use to find frame or component frame but it did not work. Does anyone know how to solve this? 

I did find some posts on the topic of “transferring ownership”, but that doesn’t help me with my problem. I have two teams in the organization that don’t have an owner and I can’t manage to assign them an owner. Has anyone had this problem and can help me? I am an organization admin and have also tried to assign myself ownership somehow, but I just can’t find a corresponding function anywhere.

My Figma desktop doesn’t get updated. I checked the solutions in the community and tried them all. I cleared the cache and uninstall the app many times also check the update on Figma app. but it doesn’t work. I’m getting mad with this problem. Please help me to update my Figma to 2024 version. Thanks. Also when i get the modal of the update available i press install now it doean’t work too. even i get this modal rarely.

I purchased a paid plan with 3 seats. I added somebody to the team but they are only showing up in one place. When I go to the Admin setting on the left side panel, I can see the person under Members. But when I go to All Projects in the left side panel, and click the little arrow next to the team name, I don’t see that person listed under View Members. Why is the UX on Figma so bad?

Hi - we are working on moving to Jira Cloud. In our data center version we have the Figma for Jira app. It’s worked great for those users who obtain their own personal access token and have our admins add those within Jira. However, not all Jira users have or need a Figma account, but would like to view the design specs in Jira.Our Jira admin team tried configuring according to this article for both data center and cloud, but users are still getting permissions related errors when attempting to add them. What could we be doing wrong? Do we need to have individual Figma accounts for each user within Jira? 

Hello, We have developed internally a decoder which decodes Figma files to generate ARINC 661 content from the Figma content.I know that this is not supportted by Figma because *the format can be changed in any time* , but are there any “patent” restrictions on this if we own the Figma files (which means that we designed the files ourselves).  I’m thinking of copyrighted content for example. We are thinking of open sourcing the generic code we use.

Hi, We’re experiencing issues with variable fonts suddenly switching to non-variable weights (example: from 550 to Regular) without anyone touching it. This has happened when: Multiple users are editing the same file Multiple users are viewing the same file, but no-one is editing There is only one user in the file As this has happened with several different fonts on several of our projects, is this a bug that has happened to anyone else?

I have started to create some styles with gradients. I have assigned variables to the individual stops. However, if you look at the element with this style as a developer, the variables do not appear but only the hex values for the individual stops. This makes little sense to me if others cannot see the variables that have been defined for the stops. Am I doing something wrong in the structure of the styles or is it designed so that you can’t see them?

Hi, I manage a Figma team with two other admins. The three of us have edit permissions on the team and the other eight members are view-only. I’m wondering if it is possible to set permissions at a file or project level, so that my other two admins cannot edit files in certain projects, or only edit files that they have edit permissions on.I believe an easy way of doing this would be to set their team permissions to can view, but if it is possible I would like them to retain their admin privileges of member management, etc. Is this possible? Thank you for your help.

I have been charged 15$ for each person I shared my file to. I have an annual account and I received an invoice for this for the past month’s activities. I’ve been using Figma only since February and I’m still just learning how to do things here. And not one person online talks about how sharing access to files is a charged service. I cannot afford to pay for this charge right now. I will have to look for an alternative service or create a different account and try to manage with that somehow. I have sent an email to support requesting that the fee be wavered. Nowhere in the app or online did it say this? And nor did it alert me while I was sharing the file that I would be charged for this. This is not at all transparent and super shady. I haven’t gotten any reply from Figma support regarding what can be done for this. I am yet to pay the fee because I simply cannot afford it and Figma is basically holding all my work hostage. I don’t know what to do now.

Hello,Thanks for checking into this issue. I have a component that has auto layout in it, however after applied the component, i can no longer use the auto layout feature in the component. Is it a setting issue?Let me give you an example.the purple zone is set as AUTO LAYOUT, and for the whole frame as MAIN, it is set as a component.After i apply the component into a new frame, the purple zone is no longer AUTO LAYOUT enabled. This is hard for me if i want to draw and drop something into this zone.Hopefully, i’ve made it clear. Does the communicaty have any solutions? Best regards

Hello! Please help me to figure out the problem. Autosave doesn't work both in the web version and in the desktop app. Every time after moving files into a frame or any other actions, I'm warned that the changes have not been saved. Plugins aren't loaded, there have been situations when I was able to load them, but then the page started to freeze. I've tried logging in with and without VPN, both through the browser and through the app, it still doesn't work. I've cleaned the cache and the memory on the PC. I've tried to create a new Figma account. I've tried to log in through another PC. I've also tried to change the browser. Tried the same thing with the wi-fi.Nothing helps.I really look forward to your help in solving this issue
