Like many others, I’d like to reference components from our design system or other style files when creating something in Make.  This page on the Figma Help site says a Design Library can be attached to each Make file so I can reference components from it, but I don’t see the Browse Libraries link the article mentions to attach it - specifically this direction from the article, “Above your components, click Browse libraries”.  The Browse Libraries link isn’t there for me, only a random assortment of components seem to appear. Maybe I need to move the Make file to a different folder on my account?  Any advice would be helpful. Hi All! I using of this project, but I have problem with set color border. I can't choosing light grey from pallets color. I have opportunities only choose dark grey, but is opportunitie set color for font: dark and ligh grey. Why there aren't set that same for font and border? I am new to Figma and come from a programming background (C#, HTML and CSS, Java Script). After viewing the appropriate videos and reading your official written documentation, I feel that none of it helps me understand the fundamentals. There does not appear to be any “Top Down” Videos or documentation. Of course, there is a lot of fragments covered in many videos and documentation but nothing I can find that ties it all together. From my perspective, and hr. or two spent with one-on-one training would save me many many hours sifting through multiple videos and documentation documents. While I understand that Figma does not currently offer one-on-one training, there must be some Figma expert out there that is willing to do a couple of paid hours of training. Anyone in the community interested?

Hello, I am trying to get my prototype of a mobile app to have a fixed (not scrolling) header and footer. The elements don’t scroll when I select “fixed position” but the content behind them does not scroll all the way, leaving a bit of desired space on the page behind the fixed elements. Anyone know how I can get the page behind the fixed elements to scroll all the way? Anyone else running into this issue?

Hello! For context I’m working on an application that syncs design system files from Figma and compiles them into CSS for multiple sites.I’m currently trying to implement some additional styles for links and trying to get the text decoration color / text decoration style / etc. from the Figma REST API, but it is not present in the styles or nodes. Is there currently a plan / way to get this data from the REST APIs or a timeline on this being available?Thanks!

Hello I have to export a lot of assets for a client, can be several thousands. I noticed that when exporting, some assets still have that pixelated rendering that looks like progressive JPG. I’m quite sure this is because when exporting, Figma hasn’t finished loading all the HighRed images. So I tried scrolling through all my images at more than 100% zoom and waited for Figma to load the complete image when it wasn’t. Did that through all my assets, launched export, and it still had that pixelation on some of them. I think by the time I had scrolled through all my images, Figma just decided to go back to low res for some of them, which is not very nice… Do you guys have any idea how I could resolve this? Thanks

TL;DR I want to know if anyone has explored using “Preferred Values” instance swapping as opposed to large Component Sets as a way to improve memory performance in both the Library and downstream project Figma Files.I have a Library file with very complex components for charts in the UI. The components allow other designers to deeply configure a chart, and every aspect has nested variants for controls to be used in downstream project files. Each chart has many nested instances for controlling aspects such as the axis labels, number of columns and rows, the marks, count of series to be presented, and the legend, and the state of the data.A single nested instance could contain hundreds of variants, as many as 5 tiers deep.  For example, a Trend Line instance can be configured with Variants for line style, which series it is, how many columns are in the data field, and the type of data.This instance is set within a chart with other sibling instances, and higher tier interaction patterns b

 We have a problem with updating components. We have published the updates, but they are not arriving in the file where the instance is located.  What can we do? They are not hidden with a point.  

I’m currently building a website using Figma Site, and I’m trying to make a button redirect to an external URL (e.g., https://google.com). I’ve set the link properly in the button settings, but when I preview or publish the site, clicking the button does nothingHas anyone experienced this?Is there something I might be missing, or is this a bug/limitation of Figma Site?Would really appreciate any insights or solutions. Recently, I develop a figma plugin to use with my system and service. I need request api of back-end which requires cookie that stores in figma. But when I try set “Cookie” in header of a request, I get error that chromium dose not allow javascript to do it. So now I have no idea to send cookie to back-end, what can I do? I do not want to change my back-end suck as jwt for auth.

Hey Folk. I’m trying to export a frame in Figma which has noch images, just text, forms, blurry layer…When I export this frame, the file size is around 18MB and I don’t get why? I’m creating presentations with Figma and when you’ve 50 Slides… Do the math… Any help here?

We have build are own design library. We use this one for all our prototyping. If i use the library there are style variables that i don’t reconize. The file i’m working in, doesn’t have any style variables so it isnt ‘created in this file’ .  I think there is an component in the library that doesnt uses our variables but variables from an other library. How can i find that component, zo that i can fix this?   

Hi folks, I’m trying to create a prototype which allows me to toggle a layer visibility on and off using a ‘Hide’ checkbox which sets a boolean variable (applied to Blue box layer appearance ). In the file, I can hide the blue box when checkbox toggled on, but I cannot show the blue box when toggled off. Here is prototype: Show hide layer Am I missing something really simple here?  Any advice appreciated…  

I have created a number of tokens for type:Primitive;Family Weight Size Line Height Letter SpacingThen created a number Semantice Type variables for headings font sizes ext.I created these directly in Variables Pane.Originally they all worked with - when I place some text on screen and highlited it th I would go to the Typograpyh panel and variable styles would be listed. However when I publised this file. and attempted to acces the typography it was not available in other files. I feel like I am doing something simle wrong - as it was workgin previously . Any help is very. much appreciated.

Hi, I have a question about how gradients work in Figma.When I use a Fill with a Gradient, what is the difference between using Flatten and Union?This is what I understand:-Flatten: If I select multiple shapes and use Flatten, they become one single shape. Then, the gradient is smooth across the whole shape.-Union: If I use Union, it looks like one shape, but inside, each part is still separate.So the gradient is applied to each shape individually, and the direction can look different for each part. Is this correct? I want to know how Figma really handles this in the background. Thanks.

My client and I are having issues when viewing a Figma prototype on our mobile phones. I have tried in different browsers as well as the Figma app and it always looks the same. It works fine on desktop but everything on mobile looks like the attached screenshot. I have tried a bunch of troubleshooting options I have found in the community but nothing seems to work. Has anyone experienced anything like this before? 

We are on the Organization plan. We have “Public link sharing” enabled. When we attempt to share publicly, there is no “Only those invited” or “Anyone” option. There is only “Anyone in the [organization]”.  I contacted support but the AI bot just keeps telling me to enable “Public link sharing”. Any suggestions would be great.  

Hey, guys.I’ve been avoiding Figma like the plague because I think it sucks.  Sadly, I’m in a position where I have to use it…That being said, is Figma’s auto layout stuff supposed to be correlated to flex/gird layout or something? I literally make zero sense is probably one of most asinine concepts I’ve come across in design in ages.Thank.

My Figma automatically updated to the latest version, but it now says that it is incompatible with my Mac OS version and cannot run. Is there a location I can find the download link for an older version of the desktop app for Mac? Versions prior to 116.17.9 ran correctly. Thanks!

I was trying to clean up a file and move some older stuff to an “archive” file. I accidentally used cmd + x and cut the frames I wanted to move. Now when I try to paste them, Figma hangs for a minute, then the frames all show up as if the paste worked, Figma is unresponsive for a moment — then I get an “Open this file in recovery mode” modal, and when I do so all the pasted content disappears.You can see it in action here: https://monosnap.com/file/3VMxNwbMXEoFAkDcUNR2JH7t4jcmUQI can’t seem to get around this. I’ve tried the desktop app and multiple browsers. I’ve tried using a new file, restarting Figma, and wiggling my nose in every direction during the paste…Any idea how I can get these frames out of my clipboard and back into Figma? Is there some way I can paste the data into another app and attempt to break it up into multiple pastes? It’s not even THAT much stuff, but I guess it’s just a teeny bit over the line for what Figma can handle.Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

is there something you can do to make sure someone sees something different on your website every time you open it?

I'm designing a segmented control in Figma. I want only one item to be in the "Selected" state at a time — so when I click on an item, it becomes selected and the others automatically return to the default state.Is there a way to prototype this without manually creating a separate interaction for every possible combination? I’d like to keep it scalable if possible.I've heard that using Variables and "Set Variable" actions might help, but I'm not sure how to set that up correctly.

EDIT: in the title I meant to say “Hosting or platform” not “hosting domain”. Figma Sites sounds cool and handy, but I’m a bit of the fence regarding lock-in.What is official Figma stance on moving the website elsewhere for one reason or another.Who own the design? Who owns generated html and Javascript bits? (There is a little bit of React application going on, for what I gathered from browser DevTools.) Will Figma Corp be so generous to allow to download the project folder to take it to VS Code? I’ve noticed that DevMode tab is missing from Sites UI, does that mean devs are not welcome?
