Hello!

I am trying to get variables from my library, just that. Because Code Connect is available for Organizations and Enterprise plans, I want to use Code Connect, since I am a member of a Organization.

The steps I am following are the following:

When doing:

npx figma connect create 'https://www.figma.com/design/nnndf7M06aEAl6E4coNEbx/Mercury-Tokens?node-id=2-13' FIGMA_ACCESS_TOKEN=figd_TSv1OsaADUrVWql09slhjoxDXgbRc5*****

I am getting:

No config file found in /Users/bruno.sastre/Desktop/genexus/code-connect, proceeding with default options Using "html" parser as package.json containing no other supported web frameworks was found in /Users/bruno.sastre/Desktop/genexus/code-connect. If this is incorrect, please check you are running Code Connect from your project root, or add a `parser` key to your config file. See https://github.com/figma/code-connect for more information.

Someone told my in another post, that is related to this one, that I will not be able to get the variables, unless I am a member from a Enterprise account. I think she is right. Can somebodey confirm this?

I don’t think we are getting a Enterprise plan soon. Can somebody recommend me how to get variables without the REST api then? I think a plugin is the only way… any reocmmendations?

Thanks in advance.

There are multiple plugins that let you export the variables from a Figma file. We use the plugin variables2css, since it is the only plugin I could find that converts the Figma variable names to kebap-case css variable names. Good luck!

Also a tip: when using variables2css, visit every single page of your Figma file and press the “generate”
button to get all the variables. The plugin will only export variables that are actually used in the Figma file, not ones that were created but never used.
