As a user of variables and variants - I'm really tired of writing the same words a hundred times in every new project when I create and name typical elements. It would be great to have some sort of auto-suggestion (like on phone keypads or programming apps) or text replacement for typical elements like buttons, devices, component states (hover, disabled, etc) and so on. Right now I'm using the macbook's internal function, but I don't like this solution because it bothers and irritate me outside of figma :) For now, I'm using abbreviated versions of words to speed up the naming process.
Figma should add an outline and outline offset property similar to the properties in CSS. This is useful for focus styles among other things. Currently, there are a number of approaches that you can take to achieve a similar effect, but neither is ideal: Drop shadow: one problem with using drop shadows to create a focus outline is that you have to have a fill. Absolutely positioned frame: you can add an extra frame within an element that’s absolutely positioned and apply a stroke. This isn’t ideal because you’re required to add an extra, unnecessary frame to every element that you want to add an outline to.
Figma desperately needs to expand the overrides that can be reset. For overrides that are not in the list, “Reset All” is a massively inconvenient alternative as it resets things you had no intent of resetting. Every property would be great, but notable top priority: Reset Height Individually Reset Width Individually Reset Autolayout Resizing (Fill, Hug, Etc). Reset Autolayout Spacing Reset Autolayout Padding Reset Clip Content Reset Border Radius Being able to reset on a more granular level is the takeaway here. I feel this doesn’t get enough love, but is a daily annoyance for those trying to retain a source of truth with their Components. If anything, open up the capability for a contributor to build a plugin. If one exists, please point me in the right direction. 🙏
Would love the option to set the color of the page to a variable. In an effort to create more uniformity and consistency across files, I created a variable collection for documentation colors, however I’m unable to define the page color using variables. This would be especially useful for documents with 10+ pages, as it’d be an easy way to keep the page background colors all aligned.
Hi!I wish that when I copy a stroke, the stroke retains its individual stroke-position when pasted. Right now, if I copy a stroke it will paste as an “all stroke” even if the original only applied to one side.Further, I wish it was possible to select multiple individual strokes for one object, such that I could have different weights and colors for each side.I am unaware if these suggestions have been made previously, but I wanted to mention them anyways! Thanks!
Add opportunity to wrap verticaly to use grid for layers with different proportions
Need print funtionality and MP4/CMYK export now we have buzz. To compete with Canva. It is the last thing keeping canva users from using figma that export functionality. Also display in CMYK. Crops and bleed options too. MP4 to export animations.
Fundamental to using any digital whiteboard, is being able to hyperink image elements. Please consider adding this to the pipeline! It’s a huge setback to using Figjam and lags behind competitors for a basic requirement. Community, I’m not alone. Please chime in! 🙏
When I use lines to visually show navigation between screens (like button-to-screen flows), I often run into issues with drag selection. Even when I’m not hovering directly over a line, the bounding box gets picked up, which makes it hard to select other elements nearby. It would be helpful to have an option to only select a line when the stroke itself is clicked or dragged over and not the entire bounding box. This would make drag selection much more precise when working with visual flow diagrams.
Hey Figma Team,Now that the Figma Sites are here, all my website ideas can be implemented. But some of them require the ability to fetch and showcase live data from existing databases like, Notion, Google Sheets, etc. I want a feature like Framer Fetch that can allow me to fetch external data and sync any thing from Figma into the database, essentially allowing Two-Way Sync. Please, would appreciate having such a feature.
Hello there Dear Figma community! Figma is great and perfect. It is unque and also user friendly. Its new tools like buzz and drwing are fantastic. Its prototyping is fast and smart. Its collaboration and dev modes are all great. But for making it further perfect can you please add some more interactions like scroll in veiw and tilt oter interactions. Please also add cursor bar in which we can creat custom cursors that will be used in our app or website.I hope that you will add these features soon.I will be very thankful to you!
I want to choose origin x y position
I am excited about the new figma features, but especially about the figma grid. But the problem is - I do not understand how to work with grids. I tried playground and I couldn't do the first task😁 Well, I'm not the brightest mind, so can we please have a video tutorial? And not just for grids! I would also like to see an overview of the other new features. My brain is struggling with all the new updates. It's easier to watch and follow a tutorial, at least for me :) And can you please add Hug option for grids too? Thanks a lot!
Hello there !I am a designer working with dev all day. So we (dev and me) have high hopes for dev mode. And now it's relatively interesting to work with. But there's still one thing missing... When the ‘open overlay’ interaction generates a background colour, this background is not mentioned in the dev mode interaction section (this is for the pop up case)… I mention this because, my devs don't have the reflex to look at interactions in prototype mode. So they miss them. And one more thing, the export of CSS is no more available ?Thank you a lot for your work.Marine
Please, for the love of everything mighty, add an item “Cancel request to edit” in the dropdown menu below the name of the file. It happened to me several times that I clicked by accident on the “Ask to edit” button, on files that I REALLY didn’t want to touch, and the mere thought of the poor file owner wondering who’s that random guy who requested access to their own file is so embarassing to me…
Hello,I currently can’t use half of the keyboard shortcut because I use an azerty keyboard on PC. The current Figma azerty layout is only valid for mac. The layout in Figma My layout Out of the 3 essentials shortcuts, I cant do one of them at all and I have to remember the correct key for another, so I can only do 1 out 3 without thinking about it. There are two different layouts for UK keyboards (Mac and PC) already so it would be great to have the same for french! Thank you
Built-in support for sound/audio interactions in prototypes especially for simple transitions for better engagement
When I select text layer and press CTRL+C to copy it’s content to WYSIWIG editor (I use Wordpress and Elementor builder) I’ve got this https://i.imgur.com/UiRFdrh.png and I copied the simple text layer with content “About” figma: https://i.imgur.com/RwSHuPQ.png result: https://i.imgur.com/yO2UdH1.jpg Yes, I can copy text with this button https://i.imgur.com/W0UGvXT.png and all works fine, but this is not very handy to switch between tabs with a mouse while your are codding. In my opinion this CTRL+C should work exectly like button above. Or maybe is there a way to add some hotkey (like CTRL+SHIFT+C) to copy only text content of the layer?
It would be nice if I could use the arrow keys to pan the view. They don’t seem to do anything right now (at least in read only mode). This would allow to alt-tab from code to Figma and scroll around to consult the design without having to use the mouse.
Currently grids makes you tab twice when you are manually editing the sizes, maybe make pressing tab just jump to the next row or column size field
I would like to suggest a feature enhancement: allowing users to set a default zoom level for prototypes, such as “Fit Width.” Currently, prototypes open at “Actual Size,” which often requires immediate adjustment for optimal viewing. Enabling a customizable default zoom setting would improve the presentation and accessibility of prototypes, ensuring viewers have the best possible experience from the start. This adjustment would be a valuable addition to Figma’s powerful suite of tools. Thank you for considering this suggestion.
Can you please release Figma Player mobile app or allow user testers to view mobile prototypes on their devices without the need to create a Figma account? It’s so painful to watch recordings of user testing sessions where 1/4 of the screen is occupied by the web browser UI. So the basic idea is as follows: User tester has got Figma app installed on their mobile / they have no account / they’re not logged in They tap prototype link Prototype opens in Figma app straight away 🪄
Currently, positioning the menu that appears when clicking the “More Options” icon in each table item requires manual adjustments for every link. This proposal aims to improve efficiency by introducing two options: Batch Editing: Similar to other batch editing features in Figma, allow for bulk selection and positioning of the menus. This would significantly reduce the time needed to set the position for numerous items. Custom X/Y Axis Definition: Provide the ability to define a specific X and Y axis offset for the menu. This ensures consistent positioning across all table items, maintaining a uniform user experience. As an alternative, consider incorporating a “popover” type within the overlay settings. This would function similarly to popover libraries like Getting Started | Floating UI, offering a pre-defined and customizable menu placement style
