I would like to suggest a feature enhancement for Illustrator's selection behavior. Currently, Illustrator uses direction-based drag selection:

Left to right drag selects only objects fully enclosed (Contain).

Right to left drag selects any object touched (Touch).

While this is useful once you know it, it can be unintuitive for new users or when switching between other design tools (like Figma or CAD software) which use consistent selection behavior.

Feature Suggestion: Please consider adding a Selection Mode toggle in Preferences or the top toolbar:

Touch (Partial Overlap): Select objects partially within the selection box.

Contain (Full Overlap): Select only objects completely inside the selection box.
