When creating hand-off documents I like to showcase user flows by using arrows between different UI elements. I have to use plugins to create these arrows at the moment. When playing with Figjam I notice it had a connector option - this is great. I would love it if we could also have this connector option inside Figma as it would be a HUGE timesaver for hand-off.

I would like to think this would be a super easy update given that we can already edit connectors inside Figma. We just need a connector button in the toolbar like so:

I’ll tell you right now that 9/10 times I see developers picking up design tools to try and express an idea… It starts with a flow diagram

I gave my vote on this one. This is a feature I would start to use day one.

FigJam is great for iterating ideas of flows, but once your flow is “done” you want to have it next to everything else for the developers in Figma.

I would want a flow or onboarding mode, to tell about the intended user journey. 😗

hello, 2 years after a popular and ongoing ask has been suggested, I’m just here to ask for the same thing again.

Hey Figma, stop artificially creating the demand for FigJam by refusing to embed its features in Figma. Your experiment worked. The people need what FigJam offers. Now it’s time to integrate it into Figma.

I’ve been forced to use miro in a couple of projects now. After some hesitation it really grew on me. Especially drawing connections works like you would expect it to. This really feels like 4 years ago, when I was force to use Figma and fell in love.

Dear Adobe, Please don’t tell me it’s time to move on…

Soon to be 2024 and here I am still asking for this… If you want to increase adoption of FigJam you should actually allow connectors in Figma as well

Yes, I use the FigJam connectors in Figma design file to, but this should be made easier.

For what it‘s worth, we use this all the time by copying and pasting into Figma from a blank FigJam, which is a silly workflow.

And that is probably what the entire FigJam community who create screen flows are doing.

It’s worth noting in Dev Mode, you can show Prototyping connections and also just view the connections for the selected frame – but when you want to annotate/communicate logic or flow diagrams alongside designs, it’s not enough. This is where connectors and FigJam shapes come in.

IMO, if we just had the ability to toggle the FigJam toolbar/dock thing in Figma, we’d be laughing mate! 🚀

If y’all diagnose with data, just take a look at the number of times users paste or use connectors within Figma. Must be astronomical! But the experience is degraded. Can’t change much about the lines once pasted in.

ROI: Time saved not creating or opening a new FigJam board, drawing a line, copying it, pasting into existing Figma doc.

Would not only love connectors to be readily available in Figma, but would also like the ability to make them reusable assets (components) that can be styled and standardized for our design team.

I’ve been using connectors in Figma Design (via a simple ‘hack’ of copy pasting them from a FigJam document), and they are supported as connectors, they behave as expected (anchoring on groups, frames, layers, etc), but they’re quite buggy (they seem to be always outside any grouping, and when copy pasting them they can end up all broken up and weird places in the canvas).

So my request is simple: fully support connectors in Figma Design, they’re useful for linking flows, annotations, etc.

Figma team: make this happen quick please, don’t hit the brakes now.

Same situation here. Or have an option to make the prototype arrows visible and style them, drag them away/around obstacles for example. That wouldn’t be so bad either.

+1 Connector lines that start from a layer and end pointing to some layer so that changing the layout doesn’t screw up what points to where.

Like arrows on prototype actions, but with control points and editable color.

Figma team: I’d like you to know your stubborn refusal to add this simple and critical feature (that you already have the js code for in FigJam) was the straw that cost you an enterprise-level client.

Despite our Figma sales rep’s promise that this feature was ‘coming soon’ 4 years ago, development on Figma is at a standstill, and client requests and Figma promises go ignored.

Echoing the same sentiment here. Figma onboarding team kept pressuring us to migrate from Miro to FigJam. The fact that I can’t point to a specific area on a wireframe to make annotations is useless. Will be going back to Miro and making my team aware of this issue. FigJam has a looong way to go to replace Miro.

My biggest issue is not even copying the FigJam arrows to Figma, but that they don’t connect to items within components. Hope this can be solved 🤞

That’s interesting… what are you trying to use this for?

In my organisation, we describe flows with wire flows but on high-fidelity mockups.

Sometimes we have bigger components, like a whole modal, and we want to show, that for example clicking a CTA navigates to a frame. FigJam arrow only connects to the whole modal, and not the CTA component within.

It is also listed as a limitation in the Simpleflow plugin, so I guess more people might encounter this problem

Tired of manually transferring arrows and the inability to add arrows to the component library

😭 Or at least make sure that arrow duplication (ctrl+d) preserves its properties, such as rounding radius and thickness.

Hi @vladimir.zhukov, Thanks for sharing your thoughts!

I found other community members asking for something similar. So we’ve moved your posts to FigJam connectors in Figma to consolidate all feedback in one location.

Please vote up top!

Thanks,

arrow duplication (ctrl+d) didn`t preserves its properties, such as rounding radius and thickness 😡 😡 😡

We could really do with this feature, it is logical that the place where you want to recieve feedback is the place you will action that feedback, thus, when explaining a flow, connectors are crucial, I dont want to collect feedback in FigJam then port it to Figma, why are you making us work around, UX the UX guys

+1 for FigJam connectors 👍

Would love to have this!

hoping we get this feature at config this year!
