These are some of the new Fig Jam default colors. I know there are ways to customize the palette but this is wild. Why did you guys lighten the green and blue? What’s up with this cyan? In theory these colors should look okay together but they do not.
As the title describes, i’m finding it odd when other prototype tools have native lottie support and figma only have it as a GIF since i recently move the majority of my work to figma.
Even before the last update, i found a few inconsistencies within Figma’s interface. The one that bothers my a lot is the properties selection menus. i’ll bring the Font family, Font weight and Font line height as examples. When Figma is set to light mode, the font family selection menu is in “white mode” and the variable selection in nicely located at the top. easy to reach. this is perfect. The space letter spacing is also in “light mode” with the variables button extruded on the field itself, even better, but for the rest of the menus are constantly set to dark mode and their variable selection are placed at the bottom of the list. for fonts with long list this makes navigation very hard with a lot of scrolling. Please fix this inconsistency as specially the later one is the most inconvenience to work with.Thank you
Whenever im using the Actions menu (Cmd+K) to search a term in any of the categories: “Assets” or “Plugins & Widgets” and i select one of the results, after reopening that menu, the search term and category selection is being reseted. this causes frustration since im using this menu to search. im in a search mode. as a user i am not always certain i selected or found the option that answer my need. This pattern causes me to click again on the wanted category and re-enter my search term. this action is very frustrating.I suggest that category selection and search terms will be persistent as long as i did not delete my search term or ended my Figma session. Please consider this fix as the current situation is very frustrating. thank you.
Subject says it all.
There are a ton of times where viewers add a comment by click-dragging a box around the item they are wanting to comment on. While this is super cool and I’m sure the comment thinks that doing this is helpful to provide context - and it is - it creates a headache if I am moving screens around and also want to keep that comment intact. This is really frustrating with large projects that have a lot of churn in the UI, and when there are a lot of comments. With a regular comment (no selection box) it is easy to do this - the comment, if attached to an object, will move with the object. I have searched for a way to convert the “box” comment to a regular comment but haven’t found how to do this. Could you add the ability to do this? Or just remove the box comments?Or is there a way to do this that I haven’t found? Thanks.
Designing an app using Figma involves several key steps. Here’s a concise guide to get you started: Set Up Your Figma Account: If you don’t have an account, sign up at Figma's website. You can use the web app or download the desktop version. Create a New File: Start a new design file by clicking on the “New File” button on your dashboard. Define Your Project: Outline the purpose of your app, target audience, and key features. This will guide your design decisions. Create Frames: Use the Frame tool (F) to create artboards for different screens of your app (e.g., home screen, settings, profile). You can set specific device dimensions (like iPhone or Android) for accuracy. Design the User Interface (UI): Use Components: Create reusable components (buttons, icons, etc.) to maintain consistency. Typography: Choose fonts and set text styles for headings, body text, and buttons. Color Palette: Define a color scheme that aligns with your brand or app theme. Add Elements: Use shapes
New UI or Old UI?Well, many others must have already asked this question, but what is the point of this bottom toolbar? In the previous UI, all the app's tools were located on the sides and at the top, which is actually very practical and comfortable to use. With this toolbar at the bottom, this ends up requiring an unnecessary downward movement that is quite annoying unless the user uses shortcuts to access the tools on the toolbar, the main element in the UI, (on large monitors this is really annoying). A solution to this discomfort would be to put the toolbar at the top again or allow this adjustment manually. Auto LayoutThe auto-layout button, even though it only had a + icon in the previous UI, had a label that indicated exactly what it did. In the new UI, the auto-layout is just an icon and the user needs to keep the mouse over it to know what it does, something that can confuse new users or those who don't know the "Shift+A" shortcut. ShortcutsSpeaking of shortcuts, holding "S
In Czech Republic, we write dates as following: 21. 3. 2025 (spaces needed for formal format)But Figma changes this plain text to a numberred list, 21. being the marker, 3. 2025 being the editable text. And if I change it back in “type setting”, the “21. “ marker is gone. And there is no way to edit it. It also makes some padding and spacing changes. It’s very frustrating.
In Figma slides, when using the “Push” slide transition, you can see a very slight (maybe 1 pixel?) break between the two slides. I think you should make this seamless, if it’s technically possible. If you use similar backgrounds across your slides, removing this slight break will let you create slide transitions that look as if content is sliding in and out over top of a stationary background, enabling all sorts of neat effects that you would otherwise only be able to accomplish with smart animate and layers hidden off-canvas.I’m working on a presentation right now that, if it weren't for the slight break, I think I might actually try to apply that effect to every slide.
If I create a shape or select something and I click the color swatch it should NOT default to “Custom” if I have taken the TIME to create a color LIBRARY! I have a color library, so I probably do NOT want a custom color most of the time. Once a color library has been create, make that the TAB that is the default.
Feedback on using components in Figma SlidesOn multiple occasions Slides will change the icon used in the component. Example: in a screen component where I have a nested navigation bar instance that uses icon + text, everything looks proper on the Figma side. Once I copy an instance of the screen component over into slides, it changes the icon to something else. If I break the nested navigation bar instances, the icon now shows up properly on Slides Updating the component on the Figma side does not update the component instance in Slides, forcing me create and instance in Figma and then copy it over to Slides
I’ve always admired the UX & visual design of Figma from day 1, so many years ago. But the new lock/unlock icon is just terrible, I am sorry to say. The tiny arrows is so so so so so small and you can barely barely barely see the difference between lock & unlock. Now i need to hover to know what’s happening/function state. Why did you do this guys? The previous lock/unlock icon worked for years, so why fix something that did not need fixing. Pls revert to the previous icon. Thank you!
Description:When working with prototypes in Figma, the list of screens quickly becomes very long. This makes it time-consuming to find the correct screen. There is no efficient way to search for a specific screen or better organize the list. Expected Behavior:Ability to search for screens in the prototype list (like for components). For the moment search working not very well and does not recognize naming groups Better organization, e.g., through groups, folders, or favorites (for example: name1/category/)
I am writing to express my concern regarding the UI3 update rollout. Despite joining the waitlist early, I have yet to receive the update, while some of my colleagues who did not join the waitlist have already gained access to the new UI. This inconsistency is causing significant disruption to our team’s workflow and productivity, as we are now working with different interfaces. The delay in receiving this update is not just an inconvenience; it is directly affecting our ability to collaborate effectively. As a dedicated user who relies on your platform for critical work, I am disappointed with the way this rollout has been handled. I kindly request that this issue be addressed with urgency. Please prioritize my account for the UI3 update to ensure our team can operate smoothly and uniformly. Thank you for your immediate attention to this matter. I look forward to your prompt resolution. Best regards,
Using browser version Currently, when I press Control + H, nothing happens. I want it to work the same as when Delete is pressed.
When inputting text into sticky notes, if the text overflows, the sticky note changes size instead of the text size adjusting to fit. This is unintuitive and results in misshapen sticky notes if there is too much text.In the physical world, a physical sticky note doesn’t change size when I’m writing on it - I have to write smaller to get it to fit. This would be a more intuitive flow when entering text into a sticky note: the text should shrink to maintain the sticky note’s size and aspect ratio.
Please make your products interoperate.
When a coworker is presenting their design work and I’m following them in the file, the UI automatically minimizes the sidebars. This makes sense to me, but I’d really like to see what page we’re on in the minimized version of the left sidebar (screenshot below), rather than simply the name of the file. Our files typically have a lot of pages, and I’d like to see where I am while I’m following another user.It would also be beneficial to be able to switch between pages while the UI is minimized. I’m often working on one page while occasionally referencing another. If I’m working with the UI minimized and I need to look at designs on another page, I have to first expand the UI before I can click on the page I want to go to. It’d be great to be able to see the name of the page in the minimized UI, click it, and get a dropdown menu of the pages in the file that I can use to navigate between them.
I am coming from google slides - i am often going into presentation mode during building a deck to check the slide i have just designed. Going into presentation mode has a lot of friction: 1. shortcut is weird, why not cmd+enter like google slides (current shortcut collides with something on my browser2.starting presentation is alway a two click action because of the presentation type menu ; presenting with notes is much less often used (can u hide it behind a “more actions” menu? Just some initial thoughts after heavy using for 1 day - would help me a lot.
I’ve been noticing that my images no longer are showing the little dropdown in the asset panel that gives you the option to download the source image. Is that a bug/setting or is that functionality being removed?
I understand the idea, but oh my gosh is it a real kick in the butt. It’s a bummer to block such lovely, speed-benefiting functionality like tabbing with hit-or-miss spellcheck suggestions. (Especially when it’s trying to spellcheck my or a client company’s name...)Language is so contextually variable that spellcheck is inherently hit-or-miss, so recommendations should only ever be opt-in. I understand how this functionality was decided on, your heads are in a very reasonable place, but this unintentionally removes that ideal opt-in experience. If nothing else, it’d be nice to add words to spellcheck’s library. Or give it a good swat with a newspaper and say “NO.” I’m open to either option. EDIT: AYYYYYY my wishes are answered! Add to dictionary appears in the right click menu, which is sometimes finnicky so I didn’t find it. But that’s fine, who cares. It works!FEEL FREE TO DELETE, CAPTAINS!
Hello, Would it be possible for you all to add the ability to name variants via variables? This way when you are making changes across design system or framework, you can bind everything to a single token...
The quality updates seems less frequent During the last events, no real improvement for the design pipeline were presented A significant decline in performance (I used to run way more complex projects without any issues on smaller configurations… )Also, when we take a look at the “Suggest a feature” section, we got plenty of pertinent ideas with tons of likes, comments and upvotes that seems to be ignored. Anyone else ?Thanks!
