Even before the last update, i found a few inconsistencies within Figma’s interface. The one that bothers my a lot is the properties selection menus. i’ll bring the Font family, Font weight and Font line height as examples. When Figma is set to light mode, the font family selection menu is in “white mode” and the variable selection in nicely located at the top. easy to reach. this is perfect. The space letter spacing is also in “light mode” with the variables button extruded on the field itself, even better, but for the rest of the menus are constantly set to dark mode and their variable selection are placed at the bottom of the list. for fonts with long list this makes navigation very hard with a lot of scrolling. Please fix this inconsistency as specially the later one is the most inconvenience to work with. Thank you
Most times, I want to know what’s in the figma file or I am just exploring and want to see a file, all of that gets added to recents because in doing that, it opens the file. Now, my recents gets so cluttered because of all these. That’s when I remembered what happens to Community files. This preview gives a sneak peak of what’s inside, just how it would if you opened the file. I think when you are part of org or have a lot of figma files relating to similar things, this helps in reducing the load to think what was in that file or to reduce accidentally opening a wrong figma file. Would be great if a preview option is also available for all the files as well :)
I think I searched as well as I can but I am not sure what the name of the tooling needed is… I want my Red dash stroke to follow the Orange dash stroke so that the red rectangle follows the number dash stroke tooltip (hugs inside). The inverse of what is happening in the green tooltip above with the large rectangle surrounding the number tooltip (hugs outside).
Whenever im using the Actions menu (Cmd+K) to search a term in any of the categories: “Assets” or “Plugins & Widgets” and i select one of the results, after reopening that menu, the search term and category selection is being reseted. this causes frustration since im using this menu to search. im in a search mode. as a user i am not always certain i selected or found the option that answer my need. This pattern causes me to click again on the wanted category and re-enter my search term. this action is very frustrating. I suggest that category selection and search terms will be persistent as long as i did not delete my search term or ended my Figma session. Please consider this fix as the current situation is very frustrating. thank you.
When creating hand-off documents I like to showcase user flows by using arrows between different UI elements. I have to use plugins to create these arrows at the moment. When playing with Figjam I notice it had a connector option - this is great. I would love it if we could also have this connector option inside Figma as it would be a HUGE timesaver for hand-off. I would like to think this would be a super easy update given that we can already edit connectors inside Figma. We just need a connector button in the toolbar like so:
Hello community, I was today starting with Figma and when I launched my very first “New design file” the tool offered to my a kind of interactive template in which I could choose to work on an app for different purposes (finance, travel, social and so on). I could mouseover on topic and then see a first design below. Then I hit F and the the frame menu opened on the right and the interactive thing was gone. Does anyone know how to get back this interactive template which was maybe part of the quick start tutorial? Funnily I created a second account to get it back and it did not re-appear in the second account 🙈 Thanks for any hint. Cheers, Andreas

Describe the problem your experiencing and how your idea helps solve this The issue with this feature has been covered many times in Spectrum discussions: Spectrum – 3 Jan 18 There is a way to avoid this by holding SPACE as soon as you click & don’t start dragging the object. But why force us to do acrobatics with our fingers by holding down an additional button, just to move the object? Why not provide an option to disable that functionality completely? Nagaraj Chandran had a very logical idea in his comment: “I don’t want to hold the spacebar key to disable auto-nesting. Maybe, it should be the other way around. Hold spacebar or any other key to auto-nest.” Add as much context as possible (screenshots, Figma files, mockups, etc.) More than enough in discussions on Spectrum ☝️ Ask questions to bring the community into the conversation Does anybody find this feature useful? If yes, please enlighten me on how to make use of it because it’s driving me insane and kills my productivity big
want to create a design for vestige business to attract customers for saling my best products whenever they visit and want my products.
Great to see the addition of dividers. Would really love the ability to add a name for each divider, because this still doesn’t solve the issue where we need to create an empty page titled “{Section Name}” to call out what the divider is actually dividing.
In the past when building components, the hover and tap targets where always the same size as the component itself. For example, in a list where the hover or tap area should span the full width of the page, the component itself needed to be full-width. So to improve the life of our developers we wanted to transitions from using components with built in margin to allow setting the margin externally. However, the challenge was how to ensure the component would still have a hover/tap target that spanned the full width. I couldn’t find any suggestions online, but after a lot of fiddling and hacking, I discovered a surprisingly simple solution. I wanted to share it here in case others have faced similar challenges: Solution Step 1: Create a layout using auto layout so that the component can scale as needed based on the content. Add the state as it’s own layer and set the position to absolute. For each variant you can change the state as you would normally change the background. Step 2: Set t
