Hi team, this follows the launch of UI3. We use a design system, and one thing our team found was incredibly slow performance of the component search (Shift I).From less than a second to minutes. This was related to UI3 only, as we could switch between UI2 and UI3, and where UI2 would take less than a second to return relevant results, UI3 would just show “loading” placeholders for minutes at a time in the same file. I was thinking yesterday I should take a video, only to be locked into UI3 today. Our team would regularly check UI3 every few weeks, as this would happen across devices, on web, and in the app. This is literally 100x worse performance (from less than a second to minutes). It’s like UI3 does not have a debounce, or the search is trying to do other things at the same time like identify how may of those components are in the file (great to know, but way less useful than a fast search). I have seen numerous other threads on this, and I was just wondering if there was any upda
Steps to Reproduce:A standalone Dropdown component was successfully implemented and tested with its intended open/close interaction. An Accordion component was created with distinct open and collapse functionalities, featuring two variations. A variation of the Dropdown component was then incorporated into the main Accordion component. The intention was to maintain independent open/close interactions for the Dropdown within the Accordion. During testing, the Accordion's open and collapse functionality operated as expected. However, the integrated Dropdown component lost its open/close interaction.Observed Behavior and Potential Issue:Upon inspecting the interaction settings for the Dropdown component within the Accordion, it unexpectedly presented the Accordion's "Open" and "Collapse" actions instead of its own intended behaviors. Conclusion and Call for Attention:The observed behavior suggests a potential issue where integrating a Dropdown component within an Accordion component leads
My team and I are experiencing a frustrating issue with Figma's handling of color variables from our design system library. While we have no problems accessing and using styles, color variables are extremely unreliable. In some frames, Figma correctly lists and displays the variables, while in others, it fails to recognize them, even when the colors are actively used within the file. This inconsistency occurs across multiple team members' Figma accounts. We've searched for similar reports but haven't found a solution. Any advice on how to resolve this would be greatly appreciated.
We have connection problems with the Lokalise plugin and we get this message:“An unexpected error has occurred......Try restarting the plugin, if that doesn't help - logout or disconnect and start again”.We have tried disconnecting and logging out and it goes into a loop unable to interact with the Figma plugin, and in turn unable to upload content.
Hello!) Currently I can’t invite the user to my Figma team providing him the devmode - only view or edit. It’s inconvenient (or maybe it’s hidden somewhere, so I can’t find this)
👉 this is the file Suddenly lost all the frames from “😇 final “ page of this file , Cann’t restore it from Version history. I have recently check this file, every thing way alright but suddenly today all the frames from the “ final” was deleted. Don’t understand how to restore it. I have share the file with editing access. Please help me restore all the frames. I don’t have any backups and In this file I have made all final pages and prototype.PLEASE ME .note: tried reinstallation of the mac desktop app didn’t work.
My SVG image appears differently when pasted into the Figma canvas; there is a significant difference in rendering.My image code is:<svg viewBox="0 0 36 36" xmlns="http://www.w3.org/2000/svg" version="1.1"><circle cx="18" cy="18" r="16" fill="none" stroke="#e5e7eb" stroke-width="2"></circle><circle cx="18" cy="18" r="16" fill="none" stroke="#3E337E" stroke-width="2"stroke-dasharray="100" stroke-dashoffset="28" transform="rotate(-90 18 18)"></circle><text x="18" y="18" text-anchor="middle" dominant-baseline="middle" font-size="8"font-weight="600" fill="#3E337E">72%</text></svg>Expected result:Actual result:
Up until a week ago, I was able to view and edit the text in my Figma file but once I try to edit the text, I get a replace font prompt but when i try to replace the font, it doesn’t work. I tried it on some other fonts and it seemed to work on some and not others. Some colleagues are finding they are hitting this issue on their Mac OS but I am experiencing it on PC.I tried deleting the fonts and replacing it and the same problem occurred. Does anyone have the same issue?
This has been a recurring problem where the viewers of our files see missing components of our mocks and have to be redirected to click into the component to view the missing content…. T_TAnyone else facing this problem? My team (3 designers) have been facing this and our PMs and engineers have reported on separate occasions and across a period of time that this is happeningThis is mainly happening on frames, consisting of both main components and just regular non-componetized elements
I have a problem with the Typesettings. When I click on the advanced options a blank widget appears. Do you have experience with this problem too? Thank you for your advice
Hello everyone. Here is a problem during installing Figma on Windows. Figma doesn’t have a native way to export variables for devs, so I rely on 3rd party plugins. I even wrote some myself to get around this basic missing feature.Plugins that I used in the past have now stopped working. I’ve also tried some new ones. None of them work.Plugins load, but pressing buttons to fetch variables and export variables don’t workEven some plugins that I developed myself stopped working. When I run them, I now get console errors that weren’t there before. Why Figma doesn’t have a native way to export variables is beyond me. Too busy with Figpals, I guess. We have a deadline to hit, and now I need to manually export hundreds of variables for my devs. Very much not ideal. Is this a known issue?
I set IPhone 16 as my prototype device, hence "On Tap" turns into "On Click". However, now, when I play my prototype, even when I tap anywhere other than the element I chose for a specific animation, it changes to the next frame! It's as if the animation wasn't needed at all :( How can I fix this?
I have a bunch of icon components, all locked at 24x24 aspect ratio (1:1). I am trying to create an easy-to-use icon component, and one option I was trying to make involved using the lock aspect ratio feature recently released, and creating ‘icon size’ variables. This would allow our designers to be able to replace icons easily in their files while also not wrapping the icon in a variant set of icon wrappers at different sizes. There's other reasons to try it this way, as it's the least destructive to the files that already contain instances of icons dropped in them already, but we don’t need to go into that.My issue starts be applying my new icon size variable to the H or W of the icon components. I set the lock aspect ratio to on, and give the H or W (I can only do one, which makes sense I guess) the correct sized variable in the master component. The ‘vector’ inside (which is the glyph) is set to scale-scale. When I place an instance of that icon, I can apply a new size from my icon
I can access this project but it doesn’t show any thing there
Hello! I’ve tried to find a related topic for this with no luck. Our team is experiencing a bug that is becoming more frequent recently and impacting our dev handover. When opening a file some elements appear to be missing until you click or engage with them and they suddenly reappear. We thought it may be that Figma needed updating or restarting but it’s quite persistent. Is anyone else experiencing this?
Enable developer mode and check the color codes of the variables. You will notice that the colors of the code and variables do not match.
Did the developer forget to implement a function to reorder properties in UI3, or did the designer forget to include it in the design?Does anyone know how to reorder properties? I've been stuck on this task for about 10–15 minutes.
There’s defiantly a lag - hard to notice but it’s present. Take a look at the gif with color picker hovering over image. This happens even when sampling vector or text. You can notice this same effect just very subtle while working in a project almost like a frame rate drop but consistent.
I am using Figma plugin api to get svg content of icons maintained by designer.exportAsync({ format: "SVG_STRING" })But sometimes I see the content of SVG changed but the appearance of icon still same. I confirmed with designer that they didn't change it. For example:
however Ctrl+V still drops the picture into the frame as a fill
I’d like to report an issue we encountered while working with variables in Figma. When we copy and paste an image component that uses variables (e.g., mode-specific variants or data-driven display), the pasted version sometimes presents different variable information than the original. This inconsistency causes the visuals to break and makes it impossible to perform a clean, consistent demo—especially when the variables are tied to color tokens or conditional content.Steps to reproduce: Copy a component that includes variable-bound images or properties. Paste it into the same or a different file/page. Observe that the variable values (such as mode tokens, booleans, or bound text) may change or reset. This inconsistency is affecting our design workflow and stakeholder presentations. Please let us know if this is a known issue, or if there’s a recommended workaround.
Initially was having issues with just importing a component from my library. I managed to get one in (after several crashing attempts) but I now cant change any of the properties against the component. Have I done something wrong?
Hi Figma Support Team,While offboarding from a client project as an external contractor, I attempted to download files that I had been invited to collaborate on via the organization's Figma workspace. I was closing down my workspace tabs as part of my offboarding process.I initiated the export/download process for approximately 20 open files, but the download only successfully completed for 5 files. The majority of files failed to export or were missing entirely from the download archive.Unfortunately, this technical failure placed me in a very difficult situation. The incomplete download has been misinterpreted by the client as an unauthorized mass file transfer, despite the fact that: All files accessed were within my authorized Figma access during my engagement I was carrying out normal offboarding activity And the download itself was incomplete and not representative of the workspace I am raising this issue both to flag a potential problem with Figma's file export or API behavi
This has been an ongoing issue for me for at least a year. I use the Tidy Up hotkey daily but it doesn’t work anymore suddenly. Stuff I tried but still doesn’t work: Testing on browser and desktop Figma Programming the hotkey into my logitech mouse shortcut, in case there was something wrong with my keyboard Checked my laptop’s system preferences to ensure it’s not my keyboard’s issue Tested on an external keyboard
