I am currently using a student account and I have been seeing everyone around me literally getting the new UI3 update. I am concerned that everyone is getting it and I am falling behind in keeping up with people especially when they discuss certain functions. Is there a certain way I can force update Figma to get the new UI update? I am really excited to have it and use it in my day-to-day designs.

I have started using Figma on a 4k screen (both Laptop screen and Dell external). When I want to select any item on the screen, text, box, line etc. I need to place the cursor above the item I am selecting, most irritating. If I drop the resolution of the display to 1080 then no issues at all and on my smaller 1080 hp screen all is good unfortunately the 1080 screen is a little smaller so not as nice to work on. Any advice / tips on making Figma work properly on the 4k screens?

my intersect selection was not visible when i used the intersect selection on a roto layer, but when applied on ordinary text it works out.

The prototypes have been incredibly inconsistent in their ability to be viewed from the shareable link in the past few weeks. I don’t think it is a memory issue that has been suggested in the previous posts as I have never received an error or seen any significant memory usage from the View tab. Can I get assistance for this issue? I am having trouble finding a solution…

Hi guys. I noticed that when I’m in prototype mode, I have screen A and screen B. On the screen A, I press on the + button to generate an arrow link going to to screen B. By default the link action is [Drag to] [Navigate to: screen B]. When I switch [Drag to] to [Click on] I’m expecting screen B staying selected by default in the [Navigate to] dropdown. Instead the screen selected resets to ‘none’ and I have to select the screen manually from the [Navigate to] drop down. Not very user friendly and time consuming indeed if I have 100 screens in a document. Do you guys have please a suggestion on how to keep the screen B selected when I change the action type?

Mac Specs: M1 with 16G ram MacOS: Mac Sequoia Beta 3 Issue: When opening up a rather big file, the whole page freezes up, but I’m able to change to other tabs like the community tab, or home tab, or open up a new file. Suspected Cause: Maybe because we use a lot of SansSerif font in our file, and the newest MacOS just updated this font? But that being said, opening up the iOS 18 UI Kit seems to be working just fine.

Me and my partners always need to reload the tab project before Figma acknowledges that we have changes to publish. Every single time in the last month, when we have changed something in the design system, we need to reload the tab project to recognize that the project has changes to publish. It is so annoying. There is always something wrong with Figma. You could stop generating so many updates and create one that works. This is not a game, it is a professional program that people have to work with, and it is not exactly cheap. You fix one thing and break 7 along the way.

Hey there 👋 …is there a way to set a custom “Fixed width” for a nested instance of the component? currently i’m just creating other master component (just one level higher) with the necessary width, but i’d like to avoid this method as i have to create new master each time which i think is not a good solution. So i’d like to know if there any other optimal way to set custom width for the nested instance.

In the UI I have no issue making these bindings (see image below). How can I do this using the API? it seems the variant property is not a valid option in the VariableBindableNodeField. I assume this would be achievable in code since this option is exposed in the UI. Does anyone know what I might be missing here? Thanks

The member of my team moved some files in the team but he didn’t choose any project or even draft. Files were moved directly in team and he see them between projects folder. Now all these files are disable. None can see them in projects or drafts or in team directly only by permanent link. But when owner or admin open these files they can work with them but can’t move to any project or draft because they have no permission for it. There is no any team name near file’s name on top panel. But we can find files in team by name using search option. How can we move such files in any project or draft? or how can we make them visible?

I have been waiting 5 min for my project to load and display my design files inside. Figma used to be sooo fast. I’ve tried killing the app but even that doesn’t work always.

Hello everyone, I’m trying to develop a widget that should update its UI once a variable is updated, but I cannot find how to do so in the documentation. Is there a way that I can use a variable to set the state of my widget?

When setting a transition between two states of an interactive component based on the “drag” event the options to indicate the direction become impossible to select. Options to select direction are available when the animation type is different than auto-animate. However, those options appear disabled in the menu. so selecting auto-animate makes it impossible to go back to them. I included a short recording to illustrate this: I experienced the issue with the Figma app on a Mac.

Hi! When using auto layout, the scroll behavior’s fixed option is disabled, making it impossible to fix content at the bottom. I’ve tried using absolute positioning, which keeps the bottom bar fixed, but it does not move responsively. What should I do? Thank you!

I’ve got a design system that’s been built for tailwind css. All of the font styles are currently using the font Inter. Is there a way to universally replace fonts and apply it to all of the font styles in the system? I’ve tried various plug-ins but they only seem to replace the font in the figma pages and not the font styles in the design system itself.

Figma desktop app is not working , it showing black screen without any error message . I tried to uninstall and clear all the files in file manager and reinstalled it again but still its no opening throwing error like unable to open the Figma set up Please anyone help me with this issue

I have a nav icon that on hover displays a title and on click displays the menu. I am wondering in the prototype how to make the menu items clickable? I do not want to use open overlay because it doesn’t keep the nice smooth animation. Thank you!

Figma is pretty good with Google Fonts, but it always seems to be “behind” in the available fonts that you can pick in the UI. I tried to pick the font Wittgenstein - Google Fonts And it’s not visible as a font in the UI Font Pickers. Now I have to manually download and install the font, whereas normally you can just pick a Google Font and use it without installation (which saves a lot of space and memory on your computer).

We have multiple users who have opened tickets with Figma over the past 3 days to try to get help with an issue related to our user profiles and our admin account being locked out. We have yet to receive any responses from people at Figma. Is there any way to get a response from support?

As you see, i cannot invite people to my project. I need to solve this problem as soon as possible.
