Images appear too large

I am a new user. When I paste an image (of 690 x 256) into Figma, it looks too large though according to the dimensions noted in its bounding box it should be right. Then comparing the actual image size on screen with the same image in another window of another app, it actually is larger than it should be pixel for pixel.

Is there any way to prevent this?
