I’ve been having this issue with my Figma where the comments just float over the design. When I scroll around, they move, they aren’t attached to anything. When I click on them, they don’t open correctly. I can read them in the side panel, but I can’t see what they were attached to.

I’ve contacted support about this before and they just asked me to clear my cache, which I did, and it worked for a while, but not now.

I can’t submit another support request because this time the file is owned by a client. Funny enough, all my own design files are working perfectly, but this one isn’t.

What do you think could be the cause/ solution?

Hi Chloe!

Sorry to hear you are still having issues. This seems buggy. Does it also happen to your client when they open the file? And does the issue also occur if you open Figma in another browser?

  • To cover some basics, our supported browsers are Chrome, Firefox, Safari and Edge.

  • If the issue is specific to a browser, you may want to try disabling any extensions or clearing the browser cache

It’s a bit difficult to know what the root issue caused this without a copy of this file to investigate/replicate, as it seems to happen only to this one. Can you please at least capture a screen recording of the issue and share it to our support team here: https://help.figma.com/hc/en-us/requests/new Our technical team can have a deeper look at it. Thank you!

Hello All, I have also experienced this since November ish last year and it’s really frustrating. Only happens to me in our team. I’m Chrome Version 120.0.6099.234 (Official Build) (arm64), Apple Macbook. Do we know if there will be a fix for this?

Hi there,

Could you take a moment to check this out and give it a try? Are you experiencing the issue in both the Figma desktop app and the web browser? If the issue only appears in the browser, I recommend disabling your extensions one at a time to identify which one might be causing the problem.

Also, please try clearing your cache in the Figma app. Just go to Help > Troubleshooting > Clear cache and restart.

If you’re still facing the issue after these steps, don’t hesitate to contact the support team at https://help.figma.com/hc/en-us/requests/new for further assistance. They’ll look into it more closely!

Thanks,

Toku

To answer some questions:

I use Google Chrome, and the issue was on multiple files, not just one.

I started using the desktop app and everything works well there, so it was a browser app issue.

But I just checked on the desktop app and everything seems to be back to normal now.

Thanks for sharing details. Really appreciate it. If you have another questions, please feel free to post in a new thread.

Thanks!

Toku

Just a heads-up that mine has stopped by disabling an extension called ‘coupert’. Now this does not happen.

Didn’t get a notification that you’d replied so big delay in me trying this fix.

Thanks for sharing the helpful details about disabling the extension. Sorry about the notification. If you have any further question, please feel free to reach out!

Thanks,

Toku

Hi all, I have experienced the same issue. I was able to solve the issue by disabling my chrome extensions. Then I individually turned each one back on to check which one was causing the problem.
