Hey forum! Facu from Argentina here! I’ve been working with Figma for a couple of months now and it’s been an amazing journey. In the process of migrating our design system from Sketch to Figma we found a weird issue with some of our icons: Inside every icon frame we have a single vector shape with outlined strokes. Everything works fine except for just a couple of icons that do not display the correct opacity value. If I use a 50% opacity, it looks like it’s actually 75% (more or less). 100% opacity colors work just fine. Any ideas? Am I doing something wrong in here? Thanks 😃

Hi all! I’m trying to create an event agenda for a large team, and I want to add a real time tracker as indicated by this red line. This would be repeated for the Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday of the event. Is there any way this is possible? Thanks!

Everytime that I need to use a single quote in any text inside stickies, the sticky note doesn’t let me write anything else or delete the text is already there. I need to click on the board and then continue to write my note. Is there happening to anyone else? Could you try to write for example “There’s” and see what happens if you want to continue your phrase into the sticky note? Thank you!

I’ve created a modular widget for multiple-choice questions, with a layout like this: Question? CHOICE 1 CHOICE 2 CHOICE 3 My goal is to provide visual feedback when a choice is selected by changing the button’s background color. After a brief pause, the prototype should then transition to the next view. The issue I’m facing is that both actions—highlighting the button and moving to the next screen—happen simultaneously, causing the button’s visual feedback to be skipped entirely. I’ve also tried combining onclick and onkeydown events, but that hasn’t solved the problem. Could you help me figure out what I might be doing wrong? 😔

I am unable to see my vertical ruler. I know how to turn rules on and off the horizontal rule appears on the top and toggles when I use Shift + R or change it from the View menu. However I never see a ruler appear on the right or left. Just looking how to turn that on as I usually use the guides to help line items up. Thanks in advance!

Hello, is there a hide/show frame label feature in the latest Figma updates? This is sorely needed, as those labels can be quite distracting. Another useful addition would be a folder system for pages. At the very least, it would be helpful to create sections within our pages.

I have a few drafts that were created under my company related account and they now lives in this new Drafts to move space. I would like to move them into our company org team drafts space, but that team si disabled and say Can’t be move here. There is no specific explanation why. Only a link to this Figma blogpost about drafts update. What reasons could be involved? Thanks!

Usually, when creating a component, you use it across the whole project. Currently, I am designing up to 100 themes for the same UI; each theme has separate colors, backgrounds, and images. But they all use the same layout. I was wondering if there is some magical duplicate action where I can create components, apply them in the theme, duplicate frame (or page), and replace assets/colors to get a new theme. I know I might use component variables, but it seems unpractical.

I am creating a vector for a t-shirt and want it to be a single-color graphic. How do I remove the white line to be transparent? I’ve made all strokes outlines and tried subtracting from the black shapes but it doesn’t work the way I wanted. Hello everyone 👋 I’m running into an issue with exporting images from Figma. Despite importing both progressive JPEGs and interlaced PNGs, the exported files lose their interlacing property. I’ve searched through Figma’s settings extensively but haven’t found a specific option to maintain interlacing during export. Has anyone else encountered this problem? I’m wondering if there’s a plugin or hidden setting that I’m missing, or perhaps a workaround that involves post-processing the exported images. Any suggestions or advice? They would be greatly appreciated, thank you for your help in advanced 🙏

I’m working on a project that involves text input in prototyping mode and I want to know if there is any way to save all the changes made in prototyping mode (like the written texts or even changing states in components, etc.). In short, a way so that when I reopen the prototype, the written texts and changes made previously remain the same.

I am using autolayout. As the screen size gets smaller, I want the image to be aligned to the top left corner and to be smaller in height and width. The problem I am having is that although the width and height are chained, the card is only smaller in width. I want it to be smaller in height as well. How can I do this?

I am working on a plugin that needs to convert element into CSS representation And I’m struggled with rotaions. For example, Rectangle 100x100px For unrotated state, I can just take absoluteBoundingBox values = 100x100px But when rotation appliea, thins get very complicated because rotation in Figma increase absoluteBoundingBox of the elemens Ant I’m getting 133x133px for 100x100px rectange rotated by 26 degrees.

If the node isn’t rotated, than its pretty simple to do: relative pos=child.absoluteBounds.pos-parent.absoluteBounds.pos size=child.absoluteBounds.size but if the node is rotated, than the absoluteBounds reflects the overall space it takes instead of the size of the node. My trigonometry isn’t the best, but I don’t think that’s enough information to calculate the width and height of the node. Is there anything we can do to derive this?

I’d love to hear your thoughts and your workflows for people having the same situation as me. In my company, we store components in two ways : DS libraries, they contain the common components across the app Team libraries, they contain components that are context specific (in a feature team) that we use multiple times We use Figma branches of our master files for each new feature. Sometimes, these new features requires to update components that are in team libraries (to allow the new usecases we’re covering). This branch remains separate from the master branch until the feature is live. However, to use updated components in your branch, you need to publish the library from the other files. By doing that, it will impact your master branch if someone update the library. How do you deal with this type of situation?

I went back to the old UI because I was trying to follow a tutorial but now I want to go back to the new UI3 layout to get familiar with it but I can’t seem to do it. I’m using an educational account.

Hello, Recently, I created a design system file with components and local styles and published the library. However, when I added this library to other documents in my team, I could not see any style on my styles panel. If I select an element, I can see in the style panel that it is using styles from the published library, but I can’t see any other style. I am wondering if I am doing something wrong?

Hi Figma Fam, I’m Ziyad. I’m working on a video automation project that’s in alpha right now. We’re making it easy for developers to make high quality videos for their files, plugins, widgets for things like posting on social media or listing on Product Hunt. We’re researching making platform specific templates (so something with Figma’s branding, frames etc) and wanted to see if that would be interesting to this group? Or if anyone has any good examples of videos they’ve seen in the wild? Much appreciated!

My and my client faced an unexpected issue with one service that had been caused by the difference between how we see the link to the file From her side, the link to the frame starts like https://www.figma.com/design/cUcbBu… And from mine, like https://www.figma.com/file/cUcbBu… As you can see, there’s /design and /file. So I was curious why this difference is present; what could be a reason for that? I would be glad if someone could unweil the mystery, thank you 🙂

Hello. Is there any way to have a direct link on image in a Figma, but to the image with transparent background? Let me explain my process a bit so that you can understand better what is it that i need. 1 - In external program i have .mov background 2 - I create overlay in figma, export it as .png without fill and put it over background. As a result i get nice output with animated background and i can change whatever it is on that background by editing design in figma and exporting it. I would like to make it simpler, so my new process is 1 - In external program i have .mov background 2 - I put browser source over that background, link that i put in browser source is Prototype view link on the image with green fill, and then apply chrome key filter so as a result i get same thing as in old process, but without exporting images + all changes to the design are instant in the finished product in external program. PROBLEM: well obvious and biggest problem is that i cant have anything that

Hello, I have searched but can’t find anything on this topic. I have a screen with multiple checkboxes (only 4 need to be functional) and a button that I want to be grey when none of the boxes are selected, but functional when at least one of the checkboxes is checked. My checkboxes are components, but my button is a button with a grey overlay. hopefully the image kinda shows what I’m trying to do. Any help will be much appreciated! This seems so simple but I can’t for the life of me figure it out. Thanks!

Hello, I accidentally clicked on “Start a mind map” in FigJam, so the text block is now behaving differently. My question: is there a way to get out of the mindmap mode in FigJam? (to get back to the text block as it was before clicking that button). Thanks. (It is a great feature but the button disappears. So my only option was to copy the mindmap-text, paste it on a notepad, copy it again, and paste it back on FigJam.)
