Have a number of ‘orphan’ instances that seem to have no main component. No option to “go to main component”. No option to “restore main component”. The only other post I found that’s similar was solved by using the 'right-click/Main Component/go to main component" feature but that is not in my menu options for this handful of components only. Unfortunately breaking and recreating them would cause some chaos in a number of other files. Is this a bug?

Because there’s no access to node fs library in the plugin environment either as Figma runs on the browser aswell

We are currently using the Figma Embed Kit 2.0 to include interactive prototypes in our application. To facilitate communication via the postMessage API, we need to specify the origin (app.superops.com). However, our application allows users to configure custom portal URLs (e.g., anything.subdomain.com), which makes it difficult to specify a static origin in the OAuth app.

Is anyone else facing an issue where changes made to a main component in one file are not reflected in its instance when copied to another file? Even after selecting “Reset all changes” in the instance, the updates to the main component don’t seem to apply. Would appreciate any insights or solutions!

Hi! I’m copy-pasting a prototype link in the slides but it is being displayed. It hasn’t happened before in the previous slides, but in the new ones, it’s consistent behavior. After copy-pasting the prototype link in the slide, I can see its details in the panel on the right side. However, the prototype itself doesn’t show up in the slide.

I haven’t accessed a file for 14 days, and it was automatically deleted. I found it near drafts , but it looks like it was deleted 3 days ago. By whom? The same thing happened to my entire team, diff. files

Has anyone been able to prototype a frame or object that follows the cursor on the page? I am wanting to have a frame be stuck to my cursor. So as I move it around the page, the frame follows. Thanks in advanced!

User case: Simple button that uses an icon of color, which I’d like to keep after swapping it with another icon. It’s very common use case and I have no idea how to achieve. Currently I’m messing up my designs by re-applying color in each and every instance in each and every design after each and every swap. Design System loses it’s value if designs are not set up to follow it. So I really would like to know this.

our designer transfered the project she made to our team she’s not the owner anymore (she’s not even listed on the file anymore) we upgraded to get the DEV functionality but we are still told that we have to ask her to upgrade

Hello there! So I am on a MacBook Pro/ macOS. Sometimes in my workflow I will click into Fill when wanting to replace and image. There is an “Upload from Computer” button there. Same shortcut is ccmd+shift+K. The default finder folder I am taken to from there is one of my very first projects on Figma. Is there any where to change this default path on macOS? Dear Figma Support Team, I hope this email finds you well. I am writing to inquire about a billing discrepancy I have noticed regarding my Figma Professional Team Plan subscription. I initially subscribed to the plan with monthly payments starting on July 22, 2024. In July, I was charged KRW 23,404 (FIGMA MONTHLY); however, in August, I was charged KRW 45,266 (FIGMA MONTHLY), and in September, I was charged KRW 45,032 (FIGMA MONTHLY). I have not invited any additional team members, and I am the only person using the plan. I would like to understand why there is a significant difference in the amounts charged between July and the subsequent months, as the charges for August and September are nearly double. Could you kindly provide clarification on the reason for this price increase? I appreciate your assistance and look forward to your prompt response.

Hello, I’ve been using Figma for about two months, I payed 15$ for one seat in August - I specifically checked to pay only for myself and not for other 3 people in my team, but today i was charged 60$ for everyone, I wasn’t notified when I made my previous payment or asked if I want to pay for other people. 60$ is a lot of money and I would like to request a refund, can someone from Support Team help me please?

Hi, yesterday I started getting some weird bug in Figma so I’m wondering if anyone else has this problem. When I go to change the property on the component, I get two dropdowns and both of them do not work. Instead of only the right dropdown being shown to me, as usual, now the same one is shown to me on the top left as well. The same dropdown menu is in two places. The one on the top left is clearly a bug. The problem is not only visual, both dropdowns are not clickable, and there is no change in the component. And basically, I’m now stuck because I can’t update a component. The problem occurs in the Figma application and in the browser. And its same for Windows/Mac.

We have a Figma plugin where we can drag&drop images from the plugin to the Figma canva, and everything works fine on it, but on Windows the ‘disallow’ icon always appears as soon as we start dragging the icon into the Figma canva. If I drop the image, everything works fine, but the fact that the ‘disallow’ icon appears is super misleading. On macOs, this icon doesn’t appear. Hey there, I’m working on drag-and-drop functionality for my icon library plugin Phosphor Icons, and thanks to an excellent demo from jackiecorn on GitHub, it’s working beautifully. But there are a few pain points I was hoping the Figma developers could address: In order to compute the canvas position of a dropped element, you have to do some hand-wavy math to figure out if the UI (sidebars and toolbars) are visible, and factor that in to your insertion coordinates. It would be super helpful if the API exposed a way to determine whether the UI was visible, and if so, what size they are. Or even better, a translation of plugin coordinate-space to canvas coordinate-space. The canvas does not appear to accept drop events from drag initiated in a plugin window (drop is handled through the Figma API, but the cursor always appears as not-allowed). It would improve the discoverability for plugin users if it could appear as a copy or move cursor: Thanks for all the work you all put

By default, when I present in Figma slides, the main presentation appears on my laptop screen and the presenter notes appear on my secondary monitor. I’d actually like to swap this around so my presenter notes go on my laptop screen and the main presentation goes on my secondary screen. This is so I can always stare at the presenter’s notes (that also includes the slides as well) while always appearing to look at the camera rather than look above me at my presenter’s notes.

Hi community, I need your help fixing a component / generally just wrapping my head around auto-layout. For some reason it just does not make a lot of sense to me so I stumble in to getting the interactions I need from autolayout. 😅 In this component, I want the container of the “card” to hug so that when the bottom row (where it starts with “john smith”) of information is hidden, the card hugs up to the next level of visible information. I’d also like the middle row of the data (the Lorem ipsum column of text) to push the card down regardless of the bottom text area). What do I need to do in order to fix either of these interactions?
