Hey there, I’m in the process of repurposing a design system, copying components from one to the other. Relinking variables to local versions and overall just trying to get rid of any link to external variables, components, etc. Is there a tool or plugin that would help me in this? TIA

Hi. I am building my first prototype. I am trying to link a logo to a page in my prototype. According to Google, I need to use the “interaction” tool but I cannot find it in Figma or any lead on what the icon looks like. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Hi everyone, I remember there used to be a feature in Figma where you could click on a team member’s name and see a list of all the files they had contributed to, along with the time of their last activity. This made it really easy to track collaboration. Now, it seems like I can only see the most recent activity on a single file, and I can’t find a way to access the full list of files a team member has worked on. Has Figma removed this feature, or is there still a way to access it? Any help or insights would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!

Hi, so I’ve made a typing animation, but I want to add it to another animation variant that I have already done. However, when I add the first typing animation, it does not show up correctly when prototyping. Ok so here is the typing animation already all set up correctly to work (I can’t show the whole variants because it’s really long) I know it is working correctly because when I add to another frame and try to prototype, it shows up correctly like here: But now I want to add to this other variant animation that I already have that is working normally However, when I go to prototype, the typing animation does not show up correctly. The first line does not show up, but the rest is showing normally. Does anyone know how to fix this? or how to do it using maybe jitter or something like that? I’ve tried searching about it but haven’t seen anyone with a problem like this.

Hi I have an issue, where my icons are designed in Illustrator. When copying the icon from Illustrator into Figma, the artwork is scaled up. An example from Illustrator (20px X 18px): After pasting into Figma (26.68px X 24px): The funny thing is, that if I create a basic square in Figma sized 16px X 16px, copy it as svg from Figma and paste it in Illustrator, it is still sized 16px X 16px. Then when copying that same square from Illustrator that I just pasted from Figma and paste it back into Figma it is scaled up. I’m aware that I can “just” scale the icon in Figma after placing it, but it is very inconvenient - especially if you have a large icon library designed in Illustrator. Any idea what is causing this? Hi, I’m the admin of pro team. But there is a one project that has a different owner, and one file in it that ask me “request access”. As admin I should be able to have full access to everything no?

Is this normal for Figma? I want to now save today’s version of my Figma files as version 2. I enter the v2 either in the pop up save window dialog window or in the actual left hand menu title of Figma and then hit save prompting the Save window to open to choose the location where I want to save it. I save to the Cloud yet when I look at the titles in the cloud none of the files have the v2 I added? Never seen that before using a Mac for 24 yrs! EDIT: I realised my Figma app isn’t local to the Mac and that when my internet connection dropped today (the day after posting this comment) the app wouldn’t load? I didn’t realise I need to be connected to wifi to use the Figma app? (End Edit) Why won’t it accept the title change – adding v2 (see red lines on images) to the end of the file name in the left menu or in the save dialog window? I’m trying to build a responsive / fluid header that mimics flex wrap, pushing elements down, when not enough space. Simple enough, but when I have several nested items also reacting, I don’t know how to control what order things collapse. I want the largest parents to dropdown first, before their children start reacting. I’ve attached a quick screen recording to show how resizing the element results in something different than the desired state in the two static examples below it. I’ve tried to solve this with some min-widths, or setting some elements to hug instead of fill. But this just results in elements overflowing their container instead of wrapping as intended.

Hey! I have been trying to do some experiment with the horizontal scroll. Just like we use sticky on top scrolling in case of vertical scroll, I was wondering if we can do the same for horizontal scroll as well, like some elements stick on the right side if we are swiping from left to right. Let me know if you guys have any idea how to do this! Cheers!

If I have more than 29 tabs on Figma, I can’t seem to access the ones on the right of the last tab. I have to go home and THEN find the file I was searchin for/working on.

Our design system has an Icon component to help with scaling and icon swapping. The structure is simple, with an icon instance nested within a frame. Variants of the component allow for easy scaling. An engineer recently noticed that when they inspect the Icon component in Dev Mode, clicking the first level displays the default icon instance in the preview window. If the embedded icon was swapped, the only way to see it correctly in the preview window is to double click into the instance. Has anyone found a solution so that clicking the first level of the component will display correctly in the preview.

Hello, I have an issue with laggy performance of my prototype. I’m using desktop app mostly. But I experience similar issue on Chrome or even worse. Using or not using smart animate does not change anything. I cleared cache. My memory usage of the file is around 2%. I have only 2 pages with barely few components. When I run my prototype and hover on elements the hover effects are very slow and sometimes stays on the element even when I take the cursor over another element etc. I’ve read several topics describing similar issues and nothing worked for me. In general I am experiencing this issue for a long time already. The problem exists either when I am working on bigger files with many layers, variables etc. and while working on smaller files. Did anyone got rid of such problems? Greetings and thanks for help. Krzysztof

hi, sorry for bothering. I have a page-shifting button group. At home page, they’re in blank state. When hovering, their color (or whatever their look) changes, When clicking, button you clicked changes (if you clicked another button, that button turns back into default look). When clicking home, active button turns back to it’s default state. I want to do that in prototyping, how can I do that?

I have 5 themes in my variables collection, sometimes when I switch to theme 3, it shows half of theme 3 and half of theme 4 colors. Why is it getting mixed up? To fix, I can select the frame or object and reapply the same color style and it displays the right theme color that is selected… why are variables so buggy 😦

Hey there Figma folks! I recently stumbled upon something that seems to be a bug (or a feature?) when updating library components inside design files. I have updated the design system library to include variables in places where there were none set previously or where the color styles were used. One of the update included tokenizing the icon set with predefined variables for icon sizes (i.e. Medium = 24px for width and height). Before the update, those same icons had also default size set to 24px but as a custom input, not a variable. After publishing those changes I got multiple reports from the community within my org that Figma ignored the overrides set previously by designers in their local files and forced the default new instance for all icons to have this Medium variable set for width and height. I understand the reason behind this but it seems to me like a a different behavior than it normally is when you update instances of your components (no matter if these are instances of
