Educational plan merge

To clarify about the Education Plan, you need to have a school email address, and there is no automatic way to merge two Accounts. You will need to manually move all of the files from one account to the other.

You can accomplish this by transferring ownership of the Files and Teams between the two Accounts. The easiest way to accomplish this for individual files (i.e. files in Drafts) is to move them all into one Team or Project, and transfer ownership of that Team or Project to the new account.

Assigning ownership over Drafts will NOT move them to another account’s Drafts and any Files left in a Draft folder when that account is deleted will also be permanently deleted, regardless of the File’s owner.

Hey. I can’t even copy the items in my google account’s files because they’re locked after the educational plan ended. How come i even had the education plan on it the whole time? i very clearly remember i could log into it from either google account linked login or typing in my school email as username.

I have the exact same problem. I am an educator. For the past two years I had an education account linked to name.surname@gmail.com
I started teaching in class this week and I found that the education account expired and all my teams/files are locked.
I created a new education account with name.surname@docenti.iaad.it but I cannot transfer the ownership from the gmail account.

It looks like you were able to re-validate your EDU plan yesterday, 11 November 2024. Are you still having issues accessing your files?

Is saving/transferring still the only option? seems very clunky, I was hoping it would be something as easy as verifying with one email and just swiching user, as it’s not as though im verified, but somehow it’s a different(unverified) person on the other login.

Okay so as there’s no migrate tool etc,

• Am I able to get a student verified plan, and use my current gmail login with the plan?

• Or do I have to make an account with my @griffithuni etc account, get verified, and then manually transfer every file, then at the end of my studies, migrate all my files back.

While an EDU email address is preferred, it is not required.

You can still use your gmail email address to get verified as a student. Just be sure to be logged into your existing Figma account with that email then go to: https://www.figma.com/education/apply
