In Figma, I am trying to export HTML but it doesnt seem to show the GDS components I have used in the page. Am I missing something or does Figma not recognise GDS components when exporting code?

Hi, everyone.I recently started my studies and during one of the classes I noticed a variables icon very close to the letter spacing field. However, when I looked at my screen, I didn't see the same icon. What is this icon for? Is it some feature that no longer exists?  I would appreciate it if anyone could help me.

Hi everyone, I am trying to migrate from InDesign to Figma but I still need InDesign files. After creating the Figma documents I will need to somehow export them and work with them also in InDesign. It seems there is no way to export a document directly from Figma to InDesign. Does anybody know how to do that (maybe a plugin) or if it is even possible? Thanks

I have a frame full of component tabs set in an auto layout. The tabs are stroked and the gap between is set at -1 to avoid double line thickness between them. The default tabs have a grey stroke whereas the active tab has a blue stroke. Canvas stacking is set to ‘last on top’ which works great when the first tab is active. When the second tab is active, it’s left blue stroke is hidden by the first tab’s grey right stroke. I get the same result (but mirrored) by swapping canvas stacking over to ‘first on top’. If I bring the second tab to the front, due to the auto layout, it moves physical position to the first in the main frame. How do I keep it’s position in the auto layout but also move it to the front?

I have an Insert Tracking Link- Component If i press the black button - it opens the overlay What i want to do is - If i press the save button in the overlay -The Overlay closes The Insert Tracking Link button changes from black to green How can i go about and do that  

Hi! I’ve seen some issues with KR and the text seems broken. I also saw that the support team has advised to use “Regenerate all instances (slow)” from [menu > quick actions]. However, I’ve seen that the editor can only access this and the viewer cannot. Is there any way the viewer can also use this option as well? Or is there a way other than to use “regenerate all instances” and fix the broken text problem?  Many thanks!

Hi everyone,I'm having a serious issue with one of my Figma files. Hope someone here can help me!Here's my situation:I created the file myself, using my personal email (confirmed I am the owner). When I open the file, at the top of the file it says "Unassigned file" (in a yellow bar). I cannot edit, duplicate, or move the file to drafts or a team. The file has copy and duplication permissions turned off, and I cannot seem to turn them back on. Other users can only view the file (as set), but I can't even manage my own file properly. I double-checked that I'm logged into the correct account (owner's email).Here are some screenshots of the issue I already tried:Checking ownership and permissions. Looking for "Move to Drafts" or "Move to Team" options — but they're missing. Logging out and back in.⚠️ Important: This is a very important project file, and I need to continue working on it.If anyone has experienced this before or knows a fix, please let me know!Also, any way to contact Figma

I love the vertical trim option that just came out. But as of now it’s not supported by any browsers. So if you enable this feature the developer you hand off too will not be able to use vertical trimming, therefore your all the designs will be off due to the larger line heights that the vertical trim was subtracting. So while this is a great idea, if you can’t actually use it on the web yet, you’re just making more work for yourself and your developer. Am I missing something here?

Is this possible with Auto Layout? I want Auto Layout to wrap but I want the hanging item/card if there is one to be center aligned versus left aligned.

Hi, I’m not sure if I’m doing anything wrong but I can’t seem to select most elements in the Show Outline mode. I have many layers and it’s bit frustrating to not be able to select things under the layers. Appreciate the help to know if I’m doing something wrong:  

Hello,One of my professional accounts finally has Figma AI access again, and after some usage, I have a few questions about its capabilities, and would appreciate some guidance, as I do not believe I was able to achieve the following:Can I make the AI use components from my design systems rather than its pre-defined set? Can I add components to its pre-defined component library? If yes, how? Can I make it create component sets and states? Can the AI use framework components like Bootstrap 5 if asked? Can the AI create variable tables for me for my design system? Can the AI create styles other than its initial style control interface? Like, actual text and color styles (if variables are not a go, since that is better)? Can it work on elements on a page, like a vector illustration, and modify the element? Can it create tables? Can it create flow charts/connections between frames since it can noodle?

Note: sorry if you’ve seen this elsewhere, but with the new forum, I couldn’t find the “ask the community” so posting here again :/ The wrap function for auto layout has been a great addition but I keep hitting a wall when trying to illustrate expectations of alignment/stretch of wrapped items as the width of container/screen/viewport changes.An example is with cards containing content of different length. Expectation: card containers should stretch to fill vertical gaps in grid so they all share the height of element with most content (as it works with CSS grid or the align-items: stretch of Flexbox)Current behaviour: I am limited to choosing between fixed-height or hug contents for the cards. Result: card heights cannot dynamically adapt and I am have to write extensive documentation for devs and cannot freely create prototypes using dynamic content.Am I missing something?  

I created this form field. I want the field length to be adjustable, while keeping the button the same size and at the end. However, when I resize the field, one of two things will happen: Button stays the same size, but doesn’t move to be at the end of the field. Button moves, but changes size. How should the component be set so that the button has a fixed size but dynamic position?

Hi, i have a question that i think is pretty dumb but i can’t figure out a solution.I was working on a interactive dropdown component that i want to be able to use across multiple design.Each text/option in this dropdown is tied to a default variable (option1 is a text for option1), and i want to be able, when i copy and paste this dropdown to a new file, to be able to edit those variables values to make modifications to my dropdown.I published my component to a library, and imported this library to a new file to test my component, but when i opened my variables, it showed as empty, and my component is still “Linked” to the original variables.What workflow would be the best to fulfill my need? (create a dropdown where each value is linked to a variable, and be able to copy and paste this “default” dropdown to any file i need and make modifications based on the context)

Hello everyone, I need help solving a problem. I created an adaptive button using variants and connected them with “On Click.” I need the overlay with the message “Item added to wishlist” to appear when clicking the “+” button, and at the same time, the “➕” should change to “✔️.” However, this doesn’t work as expected. I understand that the issue is that the button can’t respond to two different triggers at the same time, but I don’t know how to solve this problemHere’s the link to the video  

There are quite a few feature requests that are 4+ years old—some with hundreds of thousands of views, and hundreds of upvotes. Meanwhile: scrubbable inputs and smart font symbols are here. :)I don’t expect my personal wishlist to be prioritized, so I’ll refrain from mentioning anything specific here. But it does feel odd to see (what I feel are) niche features roll out while long-standing, high-visibility requests go untouched—many of which feel quite basic.I’m sure Figma has internal reasons. Maybe technical debt or architectural blockers?And I respect the “no roadmap communication” policy—totally valid. But paired with low-demand feature releases and leaving these old requests untouched... it can come off as poor prioritization. In the absence of active communication, It’s not unreasonable for the user base to jump to conclusions about deeper internal issues and lose confidence.Not trying to rant. Just curious. I need to switch from a Professional Plan to Organization Plan in order to use the branching feature for a client that likes to snoop. I only need the Organization Plan for about six months, which is the duration of the contract. Typically my projects don’t require branching. I see that the Professional Plan is billed monthly and the Organization Plan is billed annually. So, I’m out $960 even though I only need it for half the year. And please, for the love of all that is good and holy, If you are going to have a plan bill annually, don’t show the pricing breakdown by month: https://www.figma.com/pricing/Anyho, long story short (and this is probably a no), can we buy features month to month?

I wanted to try using Cypress for testing, but I’ve been having trouble getting it to work properly on iOS environments. A Few Months Back, I Found A Bug In Figma’s Web App—Creating Multi-page Files Without Upgrading Plans. I Thought It’d Be Cool To Report It In A Big Way, So I Bought 'figma.page' From Namecheap And Made A Site To Showcase It. I Wasn’t Trying To Cause Trouble—Just Wanted To Help And Maybe Get A Nod For The Find. But Then Figma Took The Site Down, Saying It Was Trademark Infringement. I Get It, Sort Of, But Now I’m Stuck With A Domain I Can’t Sell (Buyers Keep Saying ‘nope, Trademark Issue’), And I’ve Lost A Bunch Of Time And Money Trying To Sort This Out. Ideally, I’d like to streamline image access and updates directly within Figma without manually downloading and re-uploading assets.Has anyone successfully connected a DAM to Figma? Opa galerinha, sou novo aqui na comunidade, então talvez eu esteja fazendo esse tópico da maneira errada, mas gostaria de abrir aqui tanto a discursão quanto deixar de sugestão de melhoria para o Figma que é algo que eu sinto muita falta, que são duas interações que elevariam os protótipos acredito que a outro patamar muito superior, que seria: On Dismiss: sinto falta dessa interação que o component identificasse clique fora dele, exemplo prático seria um input de texto que no click entraria em estado de focused, e quando clicasse em qualquer outro lugar da tela que não fosse o próprio component ele interpretasse esse clique fora dele, seria uma forma até de fazer também radios button de maneira mais simplificada sem ter que estar utilizando tantas variáveis para simular uma seleção única. A outra que eu sinto falta lá, é uma interação que poderia se chamar como Js: “listener” ou “EventListener”, e aí no caso ele ficaria “escutando” alguma situação, como por exemplo: Temos uma tela de
