On Friday I spent a great deal of care creating a system of variables and applying it to new frames. When I open the file today I can see the created frames, and the correct values applied to an object’s properties, but it’s not referring the variable. The value is greyed out, and when I open the variables panel, there’s one collection of variables I had from before, but not the one I created on Friday. I tried restoring older versions, but the issue remains. I tried opening it in the browser, but the issue remains. Any help to shed a light on this will be so appreciated!

I’m designing and SaaS dashboard, and I’m trying to fill a bit of space between a header and a another section within an auto layout, but for some reason i cant select 'fill container" for the height. I can do it for width, but not the height. Is there something I’m missing to understand the properties behind fill container for height?

The top picture is from Figma and the bottom is from Android Studio. We also have same issue on iOS.Is there a way to ensure that Figma is closer to how the font is rendered in the app? Right now we are going to have alot of issues with padding both between the text boxes and also top and bottom in general. We have tried to “Vertical trim” to “Set cap height to baseline”, but that does not work either because the descenders are not in the text frame.Thank you :)

Hi other users,At our firm we have a Figma enterprise plan. Due to lesser designers and developers, we are no longer in need of an enterprise plan and want to change it into an organization plan. However, how do you do that? I’m walking straight into a dead end every time, cannot find any information about it (except for upgrading plans) and get no respons from Figma. So I am kind of desperate at the moment. Does any of you know how to do this or have done this before? We used to have Minimize/Expand UI menu options on the Figma desktop app. Why was this removed? It's most flexible when there are options we can customize with other keyboard shortcuts. Every user is different, and customization maximizes productivity.Was there a specific reason this was removed? Can this menu option be brought back? It's currently present in the Figma menu inside the web app but not in the desktop menu options. This makes it impossible to have access to that function and assign other keyboard shortcuts.Please bring this back to regain user customization. Having a web-based app already has its limitations, and the little custom things that can actually be accessible are being removed. :( ​@Figma_Desktop  

Does Figma support restricting access to specified IP addresses?

Hi, I’ve tried to search this, but couldn’t quite find what I was after. I have created a component, and it has 14 variants. The options I can see is that they can follow each other vertically or horizontally, but not both. At the moment all I can get it to do is go horizontally forever, or vertically forever. Is there are way to create the variants to start new rows basically - be it horizontally or vertically? I know this is probably user error, so please help! Thanks in advance 🙂

I've recently visit some AI generation sites that it's possible to generate the contents of a Figma directly into my clipboard, allowing me to paste directly into the Figma.I'm curious as to how this is accomplished, and I'd like to use this approach on my own site as well.

How can I change the username in the Figma forum or if that’s not possible delete the account and recreate it with the right username?

Hi! I’ve skimmed through the hyphenation-related threads on the forum, but since they contain very few comments, I’m kinda wondering how other professionals tackle the lack of proper hyphenation settings in Figma? I’m aware of the Nisa App, and judging from the reviews it probably is worth it, but plugins by their nature have some downsides compared to native functions in figma.Do y’all use plug-ins for this, do you do it manually, like adding hyphens where needed and keeping track of them not jumping around if there is some late-stage re-formatting happening; do youuse another application like Illustrator and then re-paste it your figma layout? Or are there solutions to this that I’m not aware of? It really is beyond me on so many levels how hyphenation (which even exists in CSS since way back) has not yet been implemented into Figma proper ( I started looking into it like 3+ years ago), but I figure most must have found some workaround, so just curious how y’all go about it. 

Hello, I am trying to build a presentation and we need to rename all of the frames to numbers in numerical order (based on placement in file: left to right, then top to bottom) We are not allowed to use 3rd party plugins. Is there an easy way to do this using built in tools? Secondary question: Is there an easy way to link all of these screens from one to another in order for the sake of a prototype presentation. (Rather than exporting to Figma slides)

Hey Figma community - is anyone having issues with text jumping up the frame on click? What’s happening is the following: I have design system components and my own components in a spec file, including inputs, buttons, etc. A lot of these instances have text props Clicking on the text, or even the component makes the text layer jump up. This is affecting text in auto layout too, where it will jump 1 or 2 times above the frame bounds of the box Only fix I have without resetting, is setting the text layer to align middle Otherwise I’m resetting all and reconfiguring my component Is anyone else dealing with this issue? If so, have you fixed it? Or what are your work arounds?

Hello, The instance swap function of component work in a way that I find disturbing. So I want to know if you have the same problem or if I am missing something. I have a component that work as a form container for other component. It’s basically a label with a list that can contain one or multiple sub-components. So, in order to change the nested components, I’ve created an swap instance attribute. But then, when I change a property of one of the nested component, all of the others one replicate the same change (see video attached Figma-recording.mov - Google Drive). Is it supposed to work like that or is a bug ? I know i could create different property for every nested component to avoid this problem but I would painful to use.

What am I missing?

These tools are really helpful for my projects, so I’d like to understand if this is a temporary issue or a permanent change. Thanks!

I cannot get a node to appear when I am trying to prototype. I’ve searched the similar comments before and that stuff isn’t working for me. I am in prototype mode, not design mode, I have clicked on the objects and selected “frame selection” and am still not able to get any node to appear to create a connection. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi all. I am attempting to use variable modes as a way to create one dropdown component, but many different contexts (i.e., Phone Type mode, Visa Type mode, Gender mode). I have string variables successfully dictating text in each mode for the input label and items. Because each type of dropdown has a different number of items (Phone Type: 4, Gender: 3), I am attempting to use booleans to dictate visibility of menu items. This is how my variable collection setup looks to accomplish this. And here is how I have the booleans applied to the component. I am hovering over “Row 2” to show that I have the variable applied to the right layer.However, when try to switch modes to show different types of dropdowns, I keep getting a bunch of white space below the items. It seems to correspond the vertical size of the variable-controlled items. Hello, I was wondering how to make my dropdowns stay in place and overlap one another. They are also a part of a frame and would like for them to spill out of the frame if needed. I already messed with canvas stacking for “first on top” and it does not work. Thanks in advance!

Why does the edited text in the component not show in Preview?I need to check the Visible Options on the right for it to appear, but if i turn it off (because i want all options to be collapsed), the edited text changes back to the Master component’s text. Can anyone help? Thanks!  

 Vecton in Figma.Vector after be exported.I need help with a vector that was supposed to be "transparent" but acquires edges when exported. How can I solve this?PS: There are several vectors that are grouped together and make this symbol. I was unable to merge them into a single vector.

I have a nav component that shows a menu on hover I want to be able to use an instance of this nav component then change the state to show the menu on hover. Then in that menu, I want to be able to add click events  However,  when I test the prototype the click event doesn’t exist on the menu. I’m assume this is because it’s showing the menu from the main component, instead of the menu from the instance.  Is there a way to do this that maintains the components? The only way I can think to do this is to not add the menu into the main nav component but that seems unfortunate.
