Question

Can't create overlapped text with negative space

teemastershub

Good morning, I tried to overlap two texts, creating a negative space on the edges of the first one by a stroke to subtract from the second one. I have repeated the 'operation several times but I have encountered the following problems: 1) often figma gets the outline of the text wrong and I don't know how to edit the selection 2) once I get the outline right and click “flatten” on the text in front, if I select both and click “subtraction” often the effect doesn't work and the images are not edited.
May I know what is the correct procedure to make the outlines of the texts and to overlap them with the effect of negative space on the edges of the first text applied to the second text ?
Thank you
