Hi guys,

I’m working on making a design system right now, but I have some issues that I can’t figure out .

I currently manage the brand through mode (green area in the pic), but there is a request that they want to limit user permission to see just the brand that they’re involved with, and they also don't want the designer to edit the main component.

So I would like to ask Is it possible to just attach the brand file and then all the style changes without using mode (like the red area in the pic) ?  (still using the same component from the main design system)

I have tried many ways, but still, it does not work.😫

Nope, because the variable you use has modes. Unless you create a duplicate variable collection without modes (default value is their brand value), then just copy the file and reapply the new variables on it before sending to those people; or just duplicate the library and delete all unrelated stuffs before sending them.

 

Restrictions on access on a design file whether it’s a library or not is on the file level so they would be able to access it if you gave them access on the file.
