I’ve got variable strings where I need to display a portion of the string as a link, or bold. Normally I would just be able to select the text and style accordingly, but doing so with a variable string breaks the link to the variable. I could break the string up into various parts, stylizing the individual parts as needed, but when you are dealing with a paragraph of text it would be impossible to keep the various parts reading like a paragraph (unbroken) as string lengths change, and then I am also dealing with translations/localization which moves parts around.

When the container resizes the elipses should:retain their relative position (the way they do within a group) retain their absolute sizing (the way they do within a frame)How do you get both, as in this example of a plot, where the red dots should retain their size but still sit on the right point of the graph when the graph resizes? I had hoped that setting each ellipse to “proportional” and then “top+bottom/left+right” within a frame would do the trick, but no.And using a group, well their size gets wacky - they either distort into ovals, or, with proportional turned on, they get huge/tiny when adjusting the graph along one of the axes, none of which is desirable.

Seems like every feature/product they are releasing now is about expanding platform reach and pumping up IPO, not about refining and improving their existing products.When you look at the bugs, feature requests and other needs that long time users have been waiting months and even years for, it gets really frustrating as an embedded Figma user to see them not fix and enhance the basic parts of the software that we so desperately need.Am I alone here? Maybe I’m just letting it get to my head, but so many basic things are not being taken care of. Just gets frustrating.

Hi, The latest build of the Figma (124.7.4) was updated in my system last week and since after that, the app has started behaving too slowly as if a lot of load is on my system which somehow felt like it would crash in some time. I thought, this might be my computer so I kept checking on my Activity Monitor to see if something was going on in the background but there was nothing. Even though I tried it as the only app running and nothing was running in the background, the behaviour remained consistent. I realised this when I switched to the web version of Figma, and things got quite smooth compared to the app’s laggy behavior. The system that I am using is a 2019 Intel i9 MacBook Pro with 16GB of RAM, and this should not cause any problems. I am sure this is something with the most recent build. I hope I am not the only person experiencing this problem.

I have used variables extensively to create a prototype which is greatBut now I want to create some documentation showing various states of a page.Problem is that I want the visuals in the documentation to stay fixed, but they update every time I toggle a variable valueIt seems there is no way to tell a frame to ‘ignore’ all the variable bindings it has within it… any ideas how I can solve this problem?

I received an email that says I have two weeks left on the education plan. It briefly states what will happen and what you can do about it. However, I'm still confused. I’m not sure how it'll affect my account and what I can or can't do with my files. I would love more clarity. Right now, I have two teams and have drafts and projects in both. One is a free team and the other is and education team. I have the most drafts in my education team as it’s the one I have been using the most. The main question I have is:Does this mean I won't be able to edit any files in my drafts under my education team? Will I only have access to the "free" team and need to move my drafts from the education team to my free team? Or can I still edit in the other team because the filed are in the drafts?Thank you in advance to anyone who can help answer my questions! 

The checked state of my checkbox is only visible while hovering, and disappears when the hover state ends. I’m using a hover interaction in a menu prototype with checkboxes. When I select a checkmark, it gets selected, but when my cursor leaves whatever item I selected and I go to the next item the checkbox disappears. It seems like the selected checkmark is not persisting and only being applied to the hover state. Additionally, it seems when I hover on the item again, the check mark shows as selected, but only during its hover state.  What’s also odd, however, is that when my cursor leaves the menu and goes outside of the frame the checkbox will still be selected. Any solutions to this problem?  Checkmark selectedCheckmark gets unselected when I go to the next item.  

Hey, I did POC with Code Connect and found that the code will work only with Figma component. For example, we have BottomSheet in our design system file but Product team need to detach it so they can custom content inside. The detached BottomSheet won’t have code connect feature unless Product team make the component and write the code from their side. Any suggestion to control this from design system team?

I’m using seperate files as a way to distinguish different versions of a website prototype. Each of seperate file has identical text styles but as I copy content between each file the applied text styles are lost. Is there anyway to for this not to occur?

I have a graphic of a chain (vector) that I need to simplify so I can bend as a whole, rather than individual points. I’m trying to achieve a more fluid look, similar to an “S” shape.I’ve tried a few things but it seems like there is another step, maybe outside of Figma, that I need to do.Any help is appreciated! 

Why does the community tab now auto closes when i pick a file, I like how it works way back then when i can click multiple files using shift + click and it opens in new tabs. The new update made it so I can only choose one at a time and now this latest update its forcing me to go click the community page and search over again if i want to explore files. So frustrating.

Hello, I am experiencing what seems to be a bug. When I import a path in Figma, it shows some strange artifacts.ImgBB This artifact also shows when exporting to raster (PNG). It seems to be something having to do with pixel hinting. But I cannot get rid of it. Anyone knows what might be causing it? Thanks

I created rectangles in Figma Slides and copied them to Figma, their name turn into purple “shape with text”. How to keep them blue like regular rectangle?When I try to resize, they always add round corner automatically even if I change the corner radius to 0 manually before resize. Really annoying! How can I remove them? I know I could just create a new rectangle. but really want to figure out this useless function.

Hi there, If anyone can please help me with two things: Why when I open the app on my iPhone does a message pop up saying some missing fonts were replaced when in prototype mode? The font of the “Confirm” button which is in Helvetica is then not as I have it set. The Button does have some variables to reset Time/ Date selections after a delay but not sure if that is the issue? When I open Prototype Mode on the Figma app on my iPhone and view my Prototype some of the variables I have set no longer function as they should? But when I view the Prototype on the desktop app it works perfectly fine? Appreciate you taking the time to help out. 🙂

Hi Figma Community, I am currently on the latest version of Figma UI3 and I can’t find the annotation and measurement tools anywhere in Design Mode. It was accessible while I was on UI2. I can see the comment tool as a standalone button on the toolbar, but I can’t find or use any shortcut to toggle the annotation and measurement tools.
