Hi all, I am creating a symbol language with vector graphics of various irregular shapes, set into diamond-shaped frames. Question 1: What is the best way to regularize the sizing of these graphics? As you can see, I can’t really set a regular height or width, as the shapes take all different forms, and some are wider while others are taller. What you see above is eyeballed, but as I’m aiming to get these printed (like a deck) I really want to do best practices here and figure out a more accurate method. Question 2: Once that question is answered, the question of spacing comes up. For the above, that’s relatively easy if you want to set them centered, but if two (or more) symbols are on a diamond, then their shapes again are irregular and therefore center-snapping doesn’t work. Both symbols together with eyeballed spacingRight side vector frame highlighted to show shapeLeft side vector graphic frame highlighted to show shapeQuestion 3: If there is a way to regularize the sizing that

I'm pretty new to Figma and this is my first time creating a prototype. I have my nav bar fixed to the bottom and I'm having issues creating scroll-to interactions for my menu when it's expanded. I have a components frame where I added variants for my bottom nav: default and its expanded state. I dragged the bottom nav component to my home page frame and was able to add some navigate-to interactions without issue. But when I try adding a scroll-to interaction (so when the user clicks Contact, it scrolls down to that section of the page), nothing happens. I suspect it's likely due to the nav bar being fixed, but I really don't know any way around this. My nav bar needs to be fixed, so I'm hoping someone might have some suggestions?
I tried centering the transform origin and applying a new frame, but the same issue persists ;(The strange thing is that the small button moves to the left even though the coordinates are the same.Even though the constraints are set to the center. My AI says this issue occurs because Figma aligns elements to the top left. How can I fix this?
Hello everyone,I'm developing a FigJam plugin and have encountered an issue when trying to access the children of a SectionNode. The behavior seems to depend on the section's lock state, and I'd like to understand if there's a way to get the children even when the section is locked.I've tested the following scenarios using the code snippet below:1. Section not locked: I can successfully get the children.2. Lock background only: I cannot get the children. The node.children property returns an empty array.3. Children placed on the section and then the section is locked (Lock all): I can successfully get the children.4. Section locked (Lock all) and then children are placed on it: I cannot get the children.I'm specifically looking for a way to get the children in scenarios 2 and 4. Is there a specific API or method to achieve this? Any insights or workarounds would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance! const selection = figma.currentPage.selection; if(selection.length === 1){
Hi - is there a way to have a dropdown accordion in Figma sites without having to build it custom or have to use Make? It seems like this would be a simple layout to offer.
I’ve been working on some design presentations in figma that could use short video clips to make them more engaging, but editing those videos has been slowing me down. A teammate mentioned this website which makes editing much easier than the usual heavy tools, but I’m still running into problems like keeping consistent quality and style when mixing video with figma exports.Has anyone here figured out a simple workflow for creating and editing short videos that blend seamlessly into design projects without spending hours on post-production?
I am creating a card component with 2 variables one is the “On” state and the other is the “Off” state. In the card component there are child components “Button” and a “toggle”. In the prototype when toggling back and forth between the On/Off states before selecting any of the buttons there is nothing wrong but, if I select anything then toggle off the state of the buttons stays what it was in the previous state. (photo here to show what’s happening)Does anyone know why this could be happening? Is this a bug? or is it the way that I created my components. I will put in the photos of everything. The only thing so far that I have tried that kept the states was changing the names of the buttons on the “Off” state but if you do that then the text overrides don’t carry over.
I have a component with three states. The second state has an After Delay interaction to the third state. I also have variables for each state, and a currentState variable that records the current state. I implemented an instance of the component on a frame and set it’s state to my currentState variable, which defaults to the first state. I then added a separate button with an On Click interaction that updates currentState to the second state. This successfully updates my component instance state to the second state, but the After Delay interaction on the second state is not automatically moving the component instance to the third state. I’ve tried refreshing, changing the delay time, and more. Any guidance is appreciated.
I am trying to do what seems like a pretty easy task: merging changes in a branch into the main file. Here are my steps:From the branch, I click the dropdown arrow next to the branch name. Select the option to merge I resolve all conflicts Complete the merge.Expected result:The changes from the branch should appear in the main file.Actual result:They don’t. Nothing happens. Main stays the same, branch stays the same.On top of that, the Figma labeling is confusing. It’s either incorrect/copy errors that are confusing, or I am legitimately not doing this correctly. For example, then the merge modal is up, the title of the modal reads “update from main file.” But that’s not what I’m doing, I selected to do the opposite AND the UI reflects I am doing the opposite: I am “merging branch” not “updating from the main file.” This whole feature feels half baked, and in the meantime, I’m going to abandon it by simple copying all my changes from the branch into the main file, then archive the branc
Hello I am having a problem connecting my app to Supabase I deleted that and now trying Firebase and still having connecting issues, Can someone please help me figure this out?
Hi everyone,I hope you’re all having a great day today. My problem is that, whenever I start to write any text, all the letters are in capital letters.I used to correct it with the old Figma version, but now with the latest version, how can I correct this ? I don’t find it like in the past version.Could somebody help please on this and tell me exactly where can I click on the new version?Thank you !
We have removed lots of unused users (about half of them) due to a restructuring, but we have been invoiced for all seats on July 29. We do not foresee using all seats during this next year. Is it possible a refund or credit for future renewal for all those unused seats.
Hello community, Me and my team are new to working with branches and we are working on improving how our styles are organized in our design system file. I am wondering about how Figma behaves when styles are reorganized in a branch and then the branch is merged into the main branch. Many of our styles have variables encapsulated within some of their parameters. We are also going to find out how Figma behaves with that kind of situation. So, can a branch file's styles organization changes be merged into a main branch? If anyone has had experience with doing this and is willing to share some of their experience that would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your time and help.
Our Sketch license expires next month and I need to upload copies of all our Sketch files to Figma as we transition over and sketch runs out. We need backup copies of that work. However, recently while importing the Sketch files into Figma, I have noticed that the files are not rendering as they should, with fonts and containers going haywire and looking like a complete mess. Initially I will upload a file and it will load up without fonts, and Figma will say that there are ‘missing fonts’ - I then add the missing fonts like for like, and the fonts appear all over the place - not fitting in containers and spilling out everywhere looking all jumbled up. Also, some of the components look a bit messy too (wrong colours, broken elements etc). When I first tried the import 6 months ago it worked fine - no problems? Now they seem broken when newly uploaded. Is there a way to fix this?
Hey, I am using a custom font in my webpages. I can see the font in the preview but when I published it the font changed to some other font. Is there any fix for this? Thank you!
I have a button animation I’ve been trying to figure out. I did my very best, but I can’t work out how it works. I’d like to send you a link to the website where I saw it. Would you be able to explain it to me?Here’s the link: https://www.mutabor.de/de/...Go to the third section on the page (scroll down to Elevate your strategy). On the right, at the bottom, there’s a button called for example Brenntag CASE. When you hover over it, it instantly changes — the button image switches to an icon with an arrow, and the style changes from an outlined button to this icon version. Thanks a lot,Geof
I encountered a problem when I created a sign-up button on the sign-up page of my mockup. However, when I set the padding to 16, it didn't detach from the screen.I set it to fill content. It's a frame to which I added text.I set it to auto-layout.
Hi everyone,I’m looking for urgent advice. Two days ago (Aug 12), I accidentally permanently deleted my Figma workspace (I was the sole member). This action also deleted a critical project file I had been working on for dozens of hours.I contacted Figma Support less than 10 minutes after the deletion with all details (file name, URL, deletion time, screenshots) and asked if it could be restored from backups. I also paused all activity in my account (including drafts) to avoid polluting logs or backups.I understand this kind of restoration is not standard, but I’ve read that it can sometimes be possible if reported quickly. The backup window might soon close, so I’m hoping to get advice from the community:Has anyone successfully had a file restored after a permanent workspace deletion? Any tips to ensure the request is escalated to the right technical team as quickly as possible? Thank you for any help!
Hello Team, Could you please inform me about the maximum number of users that can be added to a Figma prototype file with view access? Thank you.
I would like to know if it’s possible from the REST API to extract a fill background image without His childrens infront : In figma I have : Im able to extract : But I want to have :
I’ve been stuck on a prototyping issue and wondering if I could get some help. I have a “Share” dialog box with multiple tabs, and I want to keep a consistent background frame while switching between tabs and showing dropdowns.Right now, each dialog state is a separate instance outside the frame, which keeps things organized — but duplicating the background frame across all 16 states is making the file unnecessarily heavy. Is there a smart way to animate or switch between these dialog box states while maintaining a single, unified background frame? Ideally, I’d like to avoid duplicating elements just to preserve consistency.Appreciate any suggestions!
I can see a Material font in my Figma app by default, but it doesn’t see to be the variable font version. I downloaded and installed the variable font version of the Google Material Icon, but I can’t seem to get it on the Figma app.I don’t see any controls to modify the weight, grade and optical size of the font in the Typography details or variable section. How do I get the variable font version of Google Material Icon in Figma?
Hello, I’m might not the only one trough this, but gradients from 100% to 0% opacity are incorrect from a color to another. It doesn’t behave like a web browser and it can be confusing. Here is an example roughly pasted from dev mode.
I’m trying to generate illustrations for a website. After creating one illustration and fine tuning it’s style, I’d like to create more illustrations in the same style. Unfortunately, repeating the prompt has led to new, inconsistent styles. Is there a way to create multiple illustrations using a consistent style?
