I've been really enjoying the new Motion features in Figma. The experience feels intuitive, and creating animations has become much faster and more enjoyable. Even in its current state, Motion shows a lot of potential, and I'm excited to see how it evolves. While testing, I came across a few areas that could significantly improve the workflow: Nested Layers in the Timeline When working with nested layers, child layers currently appear individually in the timeline alongside their parent layer. This can make the timeline cluttered and difficult to manage. It would be helpful if the timeline supported nesting similar to the Layers panel, with expandable and collapsible groups. Dedicated Clipping Mask Workflow Motion currently lacks dedicated clipping mask support. A masking workflow similar to After Effects would make it much easier to create and animate reveals, transitions, and other advanced motion effects without relying on workarounds. Dedicated Alignment Controls Motion currently

Why animations start by their own, how to control them in prototype mode? I just wanted to create opening menu, but how - OK, placed animated menu component inside main screen, and then it starts to play indefinitely - I just expected simple “Pause at load” feature :/

I discovered by accident the new ⌥+TAB keyboard shortcut to quick toggle between modes (not sure what that’s officially called?). This seems super useful, except for whatever reason the order the modes are displayed in the quick toggle UI, is completely different from the order they’re displayed in the keyboard. In the toolbar they are ordered: Draw, Design, Motion, Dev Mode. Motion is relatively new, but I’d assume this is the order nearly everybody is used to.After hitting ⌥+TAB the quick toggle UI appears and the modes this time are ordered: Design, Draw, Dev Mode, Motion. This feels unnecessarily confusing to me. I rely heavily on the spatial positions of the active mode icon in the toolbar to see which mode I’m in. The icons themselves are relatively small and visually similar, so I feel like their position is a much stronger visual cue than the icon itself. So when the spatial consistency is suddenly broken, I have to stop and consciously read the labels and think about it for a m

why can’t figma make make components that we can import back into figma. It would be useful to us make to generate a design system, using prompting and be able to import thes eback into figma as components.

Hello,I created a project using Figma Make on the free Starter plan. Before upgrading to a Professional Full Seat, I would like to confirm something. If I upgrade my account, will I be able to:Open or copy my existing Figma Make project into Figma Design? Edit it as a regular Figma Design file (editable layers, text, shapes, Auto Layout, etc.)? Export it as a PDF from Figma Design?More specifically, I want to know whether upgrading will work with my existing Figma Make project, or if this functionality only applies to projects created after the upgrade. Thank you for your help.Best regards,

Hey! How can I transfer the AI generated Prototype in Figma Make to Figma Design and continue editing it manually there?

Currently, when multiple objects are grouped, moving an individual object within that group causes it to be removed from the group. This makes working with groups unnecessarily difficult, as even minor adjustments require users to manually ungroup and regroup the remaining objects afterward.Instead, users should be able to reposition objects within a group while preserving the group relationship, allowing for quicker iteration and reducing unnecessary rework. This would make groups behave more predictably and better support common editing workflows.

I don’t use Figma all the time, I don’t want it to run anything on startup. It’s frustrating to manually remove Figma from Login Items, since it automatically adds itself there again. It would be nice to have at least an option to disable it in settings, or even better - remove that functionality at all, since it’s not user friendly. I want control over what and when the apps do at my workstation. P.S. If it’s needed for updates check - I’m more than okay to update on app start

Hi, It happened to our team multiple times, that version history events captured the wrong user. Last night I initiated a “Save to version history” , and the entry showed a colleague’s avatar. Restarting the application and checking the next day did not solve the issue. This is not the first time it happened. The other instances were when publishing or merging a branch. This undermines traceability. Hope you can find and resolve this issue. Thanks!

I strongly request the ability to turn off the Figma agent appearing by default when a new Design draft or file is created, and also to disable the Agent tab completely. In addition, the ability to hide AI options like “Make an image” for image design tools would be nice, as well as the ability to filter tools/plugins by their use of AI in the Tools tab and Community. This could be as simple as adding new toggleable options under Figma > Preferences… labeled something like “Show Agent in new files”, “Hide image generation tools”, and labels for Community assets that use AI and options to hide such assets in their respective categories.I know that these options don’t exist right now, which is why I am imploring them to be implemented as soon as reasonably possible. I understand these things can be helpful for a good amount of people and that’s completely their choice. But you need to understand that a similar amount of people, myself included, have no interest in using the agent or an

Seems like the IPad doesn’t load developer widgets in figjam files (even if the file has the widget loaded in the desktop app). Is there a way I can test my developer-widget in the IPad app before publishing it? Or can I publish the widget privately to test on IPad without signing up for a full enterprise account? Thanks for any help!

The seats section lacks of a registry to know all seat changes history. The only information it shows is the seats taken right now. It’d be great to know since when some seats have full access o collab, is almost useful as it is now if you have to set up a budget or making a billing from it.

I would love to be able to see all my brand’s patterns in the preview of the style panel. Right now they all sport the same generic dotted pattern.I am able to add a “background” colour behind the pattern, but many of my patterns use the same colours in different combinations, so it isn’t a reliable way to distinguish between patterns.

Connected Projects are a great way to have a shared space between two separate Figma accounts (usually between two organizations). A drawback is that all the files are in a single project.Without some kind of hierarchy (or filtered view) the Connected Project can quickly fill up with all kinds of working files, templates, older “archive” projects that are now needed only for reference, etc.Figma could either extend the “connected” concept to the team level (so there can be more “folders” in the connected space), or provide some other kind of other hierarchical or filtered view.

Can we allow Connected folder to have a sub-folder? Perhaps not 10 levels of nested folder. We can limit it to 1 or 2 levels should be good enough. Thanks!

bug description:The entire response is duplicated, not just individual paragraphs or sections. The duplicated content is appended directly after the original response with no line break between the end of the first copy and the start of the second. The agent history contains only a single response. The issue appears to occur primarily with longer responses.

So…. working today w/ the agent and now that button is gone.  it is in the other boards but not in one of my librarys.  i have shut down i have reinstalled, i have done the thigns…. but it still is missing = what is going on?

Problem Currently, Figma Number Variables do not support percentage values for line height. This makes it difficult to create a consistent and scalable typography system using variables. Many designers prefer to define line height as a percentage relative to font size rather than using fixed pixel values. For example, a heading might use 125% line height, while body text might use 150%. Suggested Improvement Please add support for percentage values in Number Variables, especially for typography properties such as line height. This would allow designers to create reusable variables like:line-height/tight — 120% line-height/normal — 140% line-height/relaxed — 150%Designers could then apply these variables directly to text styles and maintain consistent typography across their design systems.BenefitsMore flexible and scalable typography systems. Easier consistency between font size and line height. Better support for design tokens and design system workflows. Improved collaboration between

I know things are changing fast but I am struggling to find documentation or UI that explains if it is possible to use git for Figma Make templates. I work on a Design System team who wants to encourage use of our Figma Make template and right now the workflow of updating it is a bit cumbersome. Even naming versions in the UI appears broken (Publish → Publish History → ‘Name this version’ (nothing happens)).What is the roadmap here? Ideally even if it is going to be locked to changing inside the browser please add diff comparison feature and the ability to upload the entire dir vs one file (then we can at least use the download code button that exists now, work in our IDEs, reupload with all changes and look at diffs before publish).

Hello Figma Education Team!I'm a 17-year-old high school student from Brazil, currently studying at CETEP-RM, a public technical school in Bahia.I'm interested in learning UI/UX design and using Figma for educational purposes, including personal design projects.Unfortunately, my school-issued Google account has restrictions imposed by the school administrator, which prevent me from completing the standard verification process. Is there an alternative way to verify my student status, such as providing proof of enrollment or an official school document?I would really appreciate your guidance.Thank you for your time and support!

Hi Figma team,  I'm Ryan Saleh, an organizer of LPC Hacks and Treasurer of the Las Positas College Computer Science Club. LPC Hacks is our college's first hackathon, and it is a free, one-day, in-person event on Saturday, November 7, 2026 (10 AM–8 PM) at Las Positas College in Livermore, CA. About 250 college students will form teams of 1–4, build AI-powered projects, and demo them to judges. Among the sponsors we have gotten so far include n8n, Lovable, and Elevenlabs.  Figma Make would fit our AI theme well, since it lets teams go from prompt to working prototype in a single day. We'd love Figma's support through a "Best Design" or "Best Use of Figma Make" prize track, swag, a short workshop, or a Figma designer as a judge or mentor. Most of our hackers are community college students who rarely get access to events like this, so it would be a great way for Figma to reach new designers and builders early.  Could this be passed to the Figma for Education team or whoever handles stude

hello, I sent an email yesterday to figmasupport@sheerid.com because my account had a verification limit exceeded and I am a student, in the email I specified with university documents to clarify that I am a student, when will they respond to me that I have an urgent matter?

Missing file recovery - Ticket #2178768Hi Community Support Team,I accidentally deleted my Figma team "tabou1" on October 8, 2026, and can no longer access the design files within it. I did not receive the deletion confirmation email containing the "Restore team" link, and the file URL now returns an error stating the file may have been deleted or made unavailable. I have requested an email support ticket to restore the team and its files.I have already submitted support ticket #2178768 with all details. Could a community manager or moderator please help escalate this ticket to the file recovery team? This file contains critical active project work.Thank you!
