LAUNCHED: Custom connection points on shapes in FigJam

Hey All,

@Lord_Hill and @Dave_Mitchell are correct! We launched this capability on August 20th. Technically, you do not need to hold control, there are new “hover zones” to detect the intent whether one of the 4 cardinal endpoints, the edge of a shape, or somewhere arbitrary within the node.

:rocket: Here’s the launch tweet from our FigJam Team:

I would like to use this functionality, but my FigJam (mac native app, fully updated, and Safari web app) does not have it. I just have the four connection points per object. Is there something I need to do to activate this new feature?

Hey @Bjorn_Hansell1, thanks for flagging this!

This was a bug, but the FigJam team just launched a fix:

Thanks for sharing that video. I’m realizing I do have this functionality to make connections to the border of shapes, but not tables, which is how I wanted to use it.

Thanks for clarifying, @Bjorn_Hansell1!

Are you thinking of something like this?

Yes, and I got a little confused when I read that the “custom connections” feature would solve that. It appears to me that it does not.

Sorry for the confusion!

As stated in the topic title, this feature is only for shapes in FigJam.
