Suggest a Feature

Well, according to some earlier forum posts, Figma clearly has no plans to launch a Linux app. I don’t personally mind using it in a browser, but local fonts don’t work. Could we at least get a Fonts Helper for Linux, if not the full app? Thanks.

I don’t use Figma all the time, I don’t want it to run anything on startup. It’s frustrating to manually remove Figma from Login Items, since it automatically adds itself there again. It would be nice to have at least an option to disable it in settings, or even better - remove that functionality at all, since it’s not user friendly. I want control over what and when the apps do at my workstation. P.S. If it’s needed for updates check - I’m more than okay to update on app start

Proposed FeatureAdd a status bar toggle in the design panel for mobile frames. When a default device frame is created, designers should be able to switch the matching status bar on or off without searching files, copying components, or rebuilding status bars manually.This removes the need for standalone status bar components in the layers panel. As long as the frame matches official device dimensions, the design panel shows the status bar toggle and applies the correct, up to date version automatically. This would cut setup time in early design stages and keep files cleaner.:) Feel free to comment and share your thoughts on this feature idea.  Further Improvements to the toggle• Automatic color inversion so the status bar keeps proper contrast on any background, similar to real devices• Controls to adjust status bar elements like the camera, microphone and location indicators

In Finland, we have to attach the invoices to all card payments for bookkeeping. Now I need to every month to go to Favro and manually download the invoice. Please add a feature where I can define an email address for the invoice emails and automatically send new invoices in an email with the PDF invoices attached so that we can automate the download and processing of the invoices. The subject of the email should have the same structure each month ("You Figma invoice YYYY-MM-DD) and the PDF invoice name should be unique and contain the date of the invoice, for example, Figma incoice YYYY-MM-DD

Figma make has been super useful! I like that you can click elements and there are basic things you can edit, such as font, size, spacing, etc. It would be even better to take it further by allowing basic editing right in the file, without having to go as far as creating it into a design file.For example, I wanted to delete some text elements. Or change some text, move a couple things around. These simple things are a lot faster to just do yourself, than ask AI to do little things and wait. Then you might not even like it and want to change it back! Sincerely, I’m impatient and also like getting my design hands dirty.

There’s only a handful of color styles I use very often. But I always have to search/scroll past all the ones that aren’t useful. Having a way to sort the color picker by recent would be a game changer for speed and productivity, ideally it would persist till the user changes it. Could probably use an icon button to the left of the grid vs list view.

I have been playing around with creating variables but realized I would rather have groups in separate collections, but cannot move them. I would like to be able to duplicate an entire collection so I don’t have to manually re-create values and can remove what I don’t need from that collection OR simply be able to move groups into other collections.

Can we add “move/add to a file” link so we can do that easily for files in drafts? Maybe put a link next to Drafts. I am not trying to go to the Drafts file at this point when I’m moving files. Every time I click the folder or Drafts link I get taken to back to home to that folder and that is never my intention with this action.

It would be great if the code panel would also be visible in the Component playground in Dev Mode. I understand the importance of restricting developers from making changes to the design, which is why we have the Component playground. However, developers might also need to inspect a component in various states, not just the state initially set by me. This feature would greatly benefit developers by reducing the need to navigate back and forth between views, pages, or files. I was envisioning something like this: Thanks!

We have a design system set up with tokens (variables) to enable all components to switch between light and dark mode. For developers/viewers to see what a screen should look like in Dark mode, we have to duplicate that screen. But as an editor I can set the colour mode variable at the Page level to Dark and all screens on the canvas/page turn to dark mode. If developers/viewers could also do this, I could delete the dark mode duplicates of every screen and only have one copy of each screen, defaulted to light mode, and then just toggle dark mode as needed. This would be much more efficient on memory usage and maintenance.

When creating hand-off documents I like to showcase user flows by using arrows between different UI elements. I have to use plugins to create these arrows at the moment. When playing with Figjam I notice it had a connector option - this is great. I would love it if we could also have this connector option inside Figma as it would be a HUGE timesaver for hand-off. I would like to think this would be a super easy update given that we can already edit connectors inside Figma. We just need a connector button in the toolbar like so:

TImes I have been working in a file and want the assets panel to show: 0 Times I have been frustrated that the assets panel is showing by default as it is a library but I want to access the layers panel: 1,923,328 OK OK, that is an exaggeration, but since I find the Assets panel confusing, poorly designed and not very useful, I never use it. I am always either copy/pasting components, or using things like ‘insert’. I NEVER want to see the Assets panel and I am constantly being annoyed I have to manually switch to the assets panel, many times a day. I find it weird it defaults to that as well, cos when I am in a library I am working on the assets, not needing to pull them into the canvas. I also turn all my files that consume design system libraries into libraries themselves, cos I often make entire artboards into components so they can be duplicated elsewhere in the file and automatically update with changes to them, or place them into other files.

As a developer with read-only access, I don’t have any means to know/access what the Max lines should be for this text. (which from designer is set to 3)

The plugin api provides the variables in any collection in the correct order, and this order is updated if user reordered variables. But for collections, the api doesn’t provide them in the correct order :→ if a user created Collection1 then created Collection2, then reordered them so that Collection2 is before Collection1, the plugin still gets them by creation order → Collection1 then Collection2. Can this bug be fixed quickly? It would be a great improvements of the api.    

 I've been here for two days, this service looks good and easy to use. I just want to mention two things. When you download the code, the App.tsx file isn't downloaded, and second, the utils.ts file should be generated in /lib/utils.ts to avoid compilation errors. Well, that's all. Regards.

I want to make a prototype where something changes when user scrolls content. I want to keyboard collapse when user starts scrolling content, but it’s impossible to do with drag action. Or it feels unnatural Or am I missing a way to do it with existing tools?

We use Figma a lot for client presentations and to showcase video snippets. We recently discovered the figjam workaround to embed videos in the Edit View, but its not possible to rescale those Widgets from FigJam and more annoyingly the are not playable in the prototype/presentation view. There is a Plugin called YouTube and Vimeo from Ampier, but its also not working in presentation view…but has more than 45k user…there is a need for it 😉 Pleeeease let us embed Youtube/Vimeo Videos in Figma nativly and also play those videos when presenting. Vote here so that this gets some visbility

Hi,We have thousands of icons as components in our library that should not be linked via Code Connect.It would be great to have a way to multi-select them and apply a batch action, such as “Skip connection”.At the moment, I would need to click on each icon, select “Skip connection” on the next screen, then go back to the list… Something like this, used in combination with filtering by name would be great!Thanks

Would love if the conditional statement could include IF // IF ELSE instead of just IF // ELSE

I want to share my own experience and I think having the option to collapse all frames and groups at once is very important because it is very annoying to close all groups one by one when you have a lot of them.
