With Miro, we are able to copy cells from a google sheet/excel, then paste them into Miro where each cell becomes an individual sticky note with respective colors applied.

This is great for transcription and affinity diagramming during research.

I’d LOVE to see this in FigJam 🙂

We used to have this before as a Bulk add post-it function and it was so useful. Shame it’s gone now! ☹

Hope it comes back soon! 😇

Thank you so much!! You have saved hours and hours worth of work!! Thank goodness for the generous Figma community!!

I am a UX researcher, and I use FigJam for analysis quite a lot. Since you introduced table feature and removed copy/paste from spreadsheet cell into sticky notes feature FigJam have become pain to work with.

FigJam was not as convenient for the sorting and analysis type of activities as other digital boards and now it got worth instead of getting better

Hi @Gunay_Tariverdiyeva,

We hear you. The FigJam team is aware of this request. Feel free to vote up here: LAUNCHED: Generate sticky notes from table data. We’ll continue to pass along your feedback and desire to have it back.

Big fan of Figma and FigJam. I use it with my team for design and research. I big part of that process is creating sticky notes from csv sheets. Is there a video, or training I can attend to optimize our experience?

This was THE Number 1 feature for FigJam, that made the whole agency move over from Miro. Please give us a way to use the CSV-to-Sticky-Notes again! I see now there is some kind of plugin, but it is a very drastic change of functionality- I’m used to have Figma / FigJam improving with each update, not killing useful features, you might like to consider this next time, @Figma_Support!

Just submitting a comment in hopes this issue might be boosted. I cannot tell you what a pain point not being able to paste as stickies from a spreadsheet is. Not being able to do so has added - and I’m not exaggerating - hours of work. Please help - this issue will for sure drive me to look for outside alternatives for collaborative analysis.

This is EXACTLY what i needed. Thank you!!!

My team and me were flabbergasted to see that this core functionality has been turned off in FigJam! i blame YOU Adobe

It would appear this coincided when FigJam introduced the Tables functionality within FigJam back in March. Tables in FigJam is cool, but breaking this essential csv==>stickie feels odd

Hey @Richard.Nichol,

Yes, that is correct. The FigJam team is already aware, and we’ll continue to pass along your feedback and desire to have it back.

In the meantime, the best workaround is using the plugin:

Figma

UPDATE

Hi all, we heard you!

Our team had seen your feedback that you would still love the option to paste spreadsheet data as FigJam tables or stickies.

Now, you can use the quick actions menu to convert pasted data to stickies with Cmd or Ctrl +.

Steps:

  • Paste items from CSV or Google Sheet (places items into a table)

  • Select all items in table

  • Type “Cmd + /” and search for the word “sticky”

  • Select “Convert to Stickies”

For more information, read our article here: https://help.figma.com/hc/en-us/articles/12583849250199-Tables-in-FigJam#Import_and_export_tables

I appreciate y’all fixing this, however the directions above were not super clear.

Here’s the steps I used to convert the table to stickies:

  • Paste items from CSV or Google Sheet (places items into a table)

  • Select all items in table

  • Type “Cmd + /” and search for the word “sticky”

  • Select “Convert to Stickies”

Hope that helps!

Thanks for the details @Victor_Kernes1 ! I added your workflow for more clearance, and I also added a video screenshot to make it clearer. 😀

Awesome, glad this helped and the video is great; thanks for making that!

Thank you! It works great! 👍

following those steps. But finally worked out that I have to select every table cell before ‘convert to stickies’ is an option. Is there a quick way to select all table cells?

The convert to stickies is disabled/greyed out. How do I enable it? Does it only work on Mac’s FigJam desktop app?

2024 April, still not working

It’s fascinating how Miro allows seamless integration from spreadsheets to sticky notes, which is ideal for organizing research findings efficiently. The update in FigJam to convert pasted data into stickies is definitely a step forward, addressing user feedback for more versatile functionality. For those who work with sensitive data or personal notes, platforms like NotesOnline offer a secure option with anonymous note creation and automatic deletion after reading, ensuring privacy and peace of mind.

I have the same issue but I can’t find the option to convert them to stickies.

Can you please just open a prompt when hitting CMD+V?
