Hi! I’m trying to create an “author credit” component to document a design system. The component has a link to the original resource. All text will be set using component properties. Is it possible to create a property so the link URL is filled in the instance instead of using overrides?
With all the new AI features in Figma, the only thing missing is generative expand. If we could reframe or crop images and have the tool generate the additional sections of the image—allowing us to freely change aspect ratios—it would be game-changing and bring Figma closer to becoming the true Photoshop killer.
Having a rolling slide deck always being the source of truth (without the need to create copies) makes it super easy for business use - however we are largely unable to actively work on slide changes in these existing documents because of the risk it’s currently being viewed or presented.Being able to create a hidden branch and merge back into the main document (same as Figma Design) would make handling changes a breeze.
HiAs a maintainer of our Figma team (not admin tho) I was wondering if there is any possibility to access Figma Make analytics to understand the following:How many Figma Make files have been created? Which designers/teams are creating Make files? How many prompts are being used in which Make file? Thank you
For User Test Purposes It would be great to have custom IDs for each action a user performs on a prototype. Specially when using external tools that track clicks/links.i.e. if I want to track a click I can do it currently if the user navigated to a different frame that has a individual ID, but that is not possible if for instance the action is to open an overlay.By making it possible to add Trackable IDs to actions it would reduce by a lot the number of artboards needed. Thanks
Dear team,Why is it basically not possible to simply drag and drop a sound file (mp3, wav, etc.) into the platform? This would make things much easier and would also save resources, since audio files require significantly less storage capacity compared to video. As a sound designer, it’s always an extra step for me to convert sounds into video formats—and what starts as a 1MB mp3 quickly turns into a 100MB video. This seems unnecessarily inefficient. On top of that, it doesn’t look very nice to have “empty” videos with just a black screen.Surely there must be a better solution. I’d be happy to support you with my expertise if that would be helpful.Best regards!
I wasted an entire hour trying to figure out why the contents of my frame was bleeding out. Why is ‘Clip Content’ off by default? What a confusing UX decision. I don’t understand this change, it makes no sense. I haven’t seen anyone uncheck that box while working in Figma. Or if they do, they do it so rarely that it doesn’t make any sense to change it to off by default.
Hello,It would be interesting to be able to transfer an entire figma make prototype to figma in order to improve the design and make adjustments easily without losing the functionality of the prototype developed in figma make.To complete this feature, like many users, it would be useful to be able to save the entire project in GitHub.It would also be interesting to be able to upload modified files!
Dear Figma team, I suggest a feature allowing vectorising pasted or placed image, as well as making AI generated image immediately vector instead of PNG. Please please add this feature ASAP. It’s the only reason I still have to keep Adobe Illustrator :( I hear vectorisation / tracing images is already available in BETA version .. But I can’t figure out how to get BETA version of Figma myself.
If I want to add a comment/caption to an image in FigJam I need to create a separate Text and Group the elements together - I would love to have an “auto caption” added to images I use in FigJam - Whimsical has something similar, that is pretty handy, see the video here: CleanShot 2021-05-10 at 16.36.56 · CleanShot Cloud
I would like to suggest a few useful improvements to Figma’s Version History view:Wouldn’t it be nice to be able to tag/mention other users (e.g. from frontend team) when saving a new snapshot to the history? It would be great if I could tag or link certain frames, sections or pages when creating a new snapshot. By that I could lead developers directly to currently edited areas of my file in Dev Mode. At least, please make hyperlinks work inside of version commit messages. At the moment no interactive content seems to be allowed.
There are so many figma users in China, but there is still no Chinese support in 2025, while Korea and Japan nearby have it.
In Apple’s new ‘Liquid Glass’ design language, text and icons can change color based on what they are floating on top of. For example, icons in a tab bar (bottom navigation bar) can change from black to white if they are on top of a dark image (see example screenshots). It would be cool to be able to activate this kind of behavior for certain layers in prototype mode similar to how you can adjust the scroll behavior for certain certain layers. Without this feature, liquid glass prototypes will always look broken if ‘sticky’ elements are scrolling over both light and dark content.
It would be great if a Folder or File could be pinned to the top of the list within a Team. This would make key files or references easily findable for people on a large Team.
As a project manager I give feedback on the designs of my team before the costumer sees the design. We don’t want the costumers to see the comments we give each other. So it would be nice to have comment section only for team members. Also a chat would be nice. Does anyone else experience this? Is there a plugin for team comments?
Feature Request: Replace Image Fill with Existing File ImagesHi Figma Team,When working in Figma, we often need to replace the image Fill of a shape or layer. Currently, the only options are to re-upload from a local file or copy the Fill from another layer. This workflow has two major issues: Copying a Fill often overrides the target layer’s properties (corner radius, strokes, shadows), rather than just replacing the image itself. There’s no way to directly choose an existing image from the current file as the replacement source, like we can in Sketch. It would be very helpful if Figma could add a feature to select and replace image Fills using images already present in the file, with these benefits: Show a list of all images used in the current file. Allow replacing the Fill image without affecting other properties (corner radius, stroke, effects). Support batch replacing images for multiple layers at once. This would significantly improve iteration speed for teams working with
I would very much like to have the ability to add/subtract/divide/multiply variables (or a given value) to other variables to create new variables. See the examples below. This would add so much more flexibility as it would add a level of flexibility to design systems while at the same time maintaining consistency across designs. It also means that you can change just a few “master” variables rather than having to update everything. Thoughts?
We share a lot of decks in Slides with our clients and many of them need to be able to export our presentations as PDFs to share with their team or whoever. Currently, we send them a link to the Slides deck and also attach a PDF. It’d be great if our clients had the option to export PDFs themselves from the presentation view if they need to.
This came up because I wanted to copy dropshadows from one image to another, but because the image itself is considered a property, it replaced the other image with the one I copied. Which is annoying. It’s fine to have pre-made styles in a separate library that you link to your file, but sometimes you’re just trying to quickly iterate and work and don’t want all the background effort an entire library would take.It would be nice to be able to go to the sidebar, right click ‘effects’ to copy all effects or right click a single dropshadow to copy that specific effect. Same for all the other options in the right sidebar.
I prompted Figma Make with a particularly long prompt attempt, but it caused errors. So I restored to a previous version to get back to baseline. Now many of my very small future prompts are failing while the AI is working with the “try again with fewer inputs” error.I’d like to remove my previous long prompts from the history manually as I suspect that’s not helping the “fewer inputs” problem I’m experiencing.
One of the biggest problems my design systems team faces is designers breaking instances.Figma should allow teams to “lock” certain components/component sets so that users can’t break instances. It’s nice to have freedom in Figma, but at some point we need to be able to control certain aspects of our libraries and files.
Hi there, I’m a French designer sometimes working with both French and English, it’s always annoying for me to switch between the English and the French spell check because I can’t select both options. Do you have any solution for this? It would help so much!!
I think the "contact us" function is very poorly designed and has caused me a lot of trouble. After submitting my feedback, such as a request to modify invoice information, I only received a toast message saying "figma will contact you soon". However, I have been using figma for 3 years and I don't know how to contact you. Until today. I think you should provide us with a way to contact you, such as a link on the webpage. After confirming, the pop-up window should disappear. Otherwise, it will cause a huge and unnecessary workload for customer service. I hope you will seriously consider this。
The fonts looks sharper and crispier in Figma due to the font-smoothing css property that applied in Figma’s CSS style by default. Hence the font-smoothing property is deprecated and the support is limited to MacOS, it is misleading when designing on a Mac and looking in any web browser on Windows. Providing an option to disable the font-smoothing in Figma settings will let us get the same results in Figma and web browser regardless of operating systems. Thanks in advance!
I switched from XD to Figma late last year. And I am beyond pleased to make that switch. There are only a few things I have found that I prefer how XD handled them. One of them is a certain functionality in the Presentation view. In XD you press the play button and it shows a preview of whatever “frame” you happen to be on. If you have prototype linking built-in, you can click through using that. If not, clicking on the screen jumps you to whatever frame happens to be to the right of your current screen in your canvas. But most importantly, if you have your presentation on one monitor and your working file on another, you can click on a specific “frame” and the presentation automatically jumps to that frame. This is extremely helpful when presenting your designs. It may be rough mockups that you don’t want to have to create a full prototype for, or you are just discussing the design and need to jump around to different screens. It can become nauseating for people viewing your presentat
