When updating a component with many instances across a file, the editing experience often slows down and becomes frustrating, as Figma attempts to propagate every change instantly. This slowdown mainly happens because the browser’s memory quickly reaches its limit.Wouldn’t it be interesting to have a “Pause updates” or “Isolation” mode that allows users to edit a component without synchronizing changes to all instances in real time? Once editing is complete, exiting this mode would then apply all updates across every instance. This approach would preserve a smooth editing experience while still ensuring all instances stay consistent afterward.I’m not sure about the technical implications of implementing such a feature, but I believe the idea could be valuable to many users. 🙂
Our team works in Pixso and we want to migrate to Figma. But we have so many projects it would be very complicated to make it manually. Please Please Please! 🙏🏼
When I was doing slides with Figma Design, I would have a page for each presentation within a specific workstream, something like the following hierarchy in my organization. Project name: ClientName — File name: Packaging Design —— Page: R1 Exploration - 24.01.01 —— Page: R2 Directions - 24.02.01 —— Page: R3 Refinement - 24.03.01 With the new Slides, this 3-level hierarchy seems to have been broken down into 2 levels, with the lack of an ability to have different versions of a deck within one Slides file. I miss that. In its current state, I foresee the Project folder in the organization being inundated with too many random Slides files that become difficult to organize.
My name is Anselmo,I would like to suggest a crucial improvement for accessibility and user experience: the implementation of a specific zoom or scale adjustment option for the sidebars (Layers and Properties). The Problem:The fixed font size and element size in the sidebars, especially for users who work for long periods, cause visual fatigue and make it difficult to read information. The current solution of using the interface zoom (via Shift + Cmd + +) resizes the entire application, which can compromise the canvas view and is not the ideal approach for focusing only on the panels. The Proposed Improvement:Add a configuration option to adjust the font size and icons in the sidebars, allowing users to customize the interface to their visual needs. Implement a separate zoom control for the side panels, similar to the one that exists for the canvas, offering more flexibility and control. Why this Improvement is Important:Accessibility: It would make Figma more accessible to users with vis
Our small company uses Figma Make to create wireframes and leverage the AI tool for writing acceptance criteria and generating designs. We’re on an enterprise-level subscription, which provides excellent functionality for designers. However, the current collaboration model presents challenges for non-designers on our team. While the design and AI capabilities in Figma Make are impressive, the permissions structure limits collaboration. Everywhere I click I need to request access and elevate my subscription! Specifically, collaborators cannot share or distribute their Figma Make designs — even though collaboration across roles is essential to our workflow. This restriction feels counterintuitive to Figma’s collaborative ethos. For small companies like ours, paying for multiple full-design licenses isn’t cost-effective since most team members are not designers, but they still play key roles in defining and validating product direction. The current setup unintentionally creates silos by mak
I sometimes update components in large files, and hitting the ‘update’ button in the “Manage Libraries” updates panel often just sits there- I wonder if it’s working or not- and then suddenly the row I updated vanishes (after the update applies / memory catches up to the screen rendering). I’d love it if there was a spinner / non-interactive state during these loads; or just better state indication / handling in general- often I don’t know if something’s happening or if Figma has frozen, only to suddenly have the UI jump around after I’ve been trying to click on things to wake it up.
Im creating a prototype and would like to link to live pages on our site without having the User in the test have to see the “Leaving Figma Warning” page. My concern is that it takes it breaks the illusion of an actual experience. Is there a way remove this middle page from the experience?
Hi Figma Team 👋You guys are wonderful. This is my first time here writing something for Figma and our community. While working on a semi-complex Figma file with many components and design systems, I noticed something that could really speed up my workflow.Whenever I need a particular component, I usually access it by copying from nearby pages, searching within the Assets panel, or opening the component library page. While these methods work, I often wish I could assign custom shortcut keys to my frequently used components — so I could drop them in instantly without breaking flow. Here’s the idea: Allow designers to map their most-used components to personalized shortcut keys (e.g., Ctrl + Alt + 1 → Primary Button). The mapping could be managed within the component’s settings (Shortcut pattern + Name). If any conflicts occur with Figma’s existing shortcuts, a dedicated trigger (like a “Component Shortcut Mode” key) could activate this feature to avoid overlap. This could be a big pr
Hello,Upon reviewing your API documentation, it appears there is currently no method to list the members of a Figma organization other than through SCIM.Introducing an API endpoint to retrieve organizational users would be highly valuable, particularly for security and compliance purposes. Given the increasing number of security incidents globally, having the ability to programmatically query all users within an organization at any time would greatly enhance monitoring and governance capabilities.Kind regards,
so i ask figma team add liquid glass support to websites, ios emojis, and also smart animations
Figma Make is a little bit slow right now, and I end up having to wait quite a while after I send it a prompt for it to perform the action. It would be great if we could have a tone play or some sort of indicator that lets the user know that Figma make is done with a task. This should only happen if Figma Make is not actively being viewed.
Hi Guys and Gals,Hoping you all are doing great. It will be great if we could have section in the side bar. Like accordions would be great.
When creating multiple assets from a template using CSV data (e.g., one row per person), each generated frame/file keeps the same name as the original template. For example: if I generate 20 assets for 20 people, all files are named “Template” or “Fichier”, which makes it difficult to sort or manage exports afterwards. It would be very helpful if we could assign a line data to the name of the template.
When setting variables, it's frustrating when some of my companies themes require 'auto' for the gap value and some require a hard numerical figure. I thought I could use a string value to set those variable values for gap values (it made sense to me since the gap value accepts both alphabetic and numeric values), but I can't. It would be great to update that so a string value can be applied to gap and other spacing values that will accept ‘auto’ as a value (like typography line height).
I love the comment tool, it would be so awesome if you could have a viewing mode where all the comments stay expanded, so you can review a file and see the comments on your work without having to roll over an icon or look at a list.
There are many times I want to go back in the conversation thread and find something I’ve written previously, but after 800 iterations, that’s nearly impossible. If I could search the conversation thread as easily as I search a document, I could more easily find what I’m looking for.
Hey,An idea that might be not so complicated to implement:I’ve got a component containing a list of items (e.g. other components of the same type).I want the users of this component to be able to set the quantity of these items - for example the default state would be 3, but I would also like to allow them to display 15 or 50 if needed. It could be either1. A way to display X children of a component that exist in that component but are hidden2. A generative way to populate the component with X children inside.
When will be video option added in Figma Buzz? It would be a great help, since it is about to take the role of Canva, but it can do so, if it had video option included just like Canva has.
@Tom Reem When we will have plugin support in buzz? any ETA? [This post was moved from the thread “[Config 2025] Figma Buzz is here — let’s hear what you think!” and the title updated to “Is plugin support coming to Figma Buzz?” by a moderator on 09-Jul-2025.]
It would be really helpful to have the ability to set the prototype device by frame and not by page.So that when you’re designing a component or page and you want to preview or present prototypes to a client you can have both desktop and mobile on one page, not having to create a new page just for mobile. Then the page name could be ‘Hero banner’ or ‘Home page’ and you can have both desktop and mobile design on the same page. Just a neater workflow and neater file management.
2FA is currently only available in a user account (as far as I’m aware). So each user needs to enable it and can decide if they want to. Some customers really want us to use 2FA for any web app. A simple solution would be for organisation accounts, that we move that setting to the org admin and can enforce it or enable it for all users that way.
Can you support Jam connector can support on Figma design. Currently, It has a problem that it not link instance only support link frame to frame. So it really hard for adjust it right position. This friction affection on working in team product trying to present file design clearly
Figma continues to diversify its business with the new tools recently released.Today, in the printing world, InDesign has almost no competitors. Imagine a Figma tool dedicated to printing, with the management of the CMJN, the autolayouts and the intuitiveness we know them!I really think there's a market to take. Figma, also for print design.
Would it be possible to attach the delay value to a variable? I was initially working on a prototype flow where it’s possible that the system either moves to another screen quickly, or it takes some time (depending on system processes). I wanted to simulate that. I also noticed this idea (Use variables for transition timing) which is kind of related, but mine is looking into a different value. Maybe our ideas could be merged together for just allowing variables in prototyping values 😀
Currently, my project contains over 100 pages, and it has become quite difficult to find the one I need.To make navigation easier, I’ve been visually categorizing pages using emojis and dividers, roughly dividing them into 10 visual categories. However, even with that, I often end up getting lost while searching for a specific page. So, I’d like to propose two feature ideas inspired by how Slack organizes channels in its sidebar:1. Add a structural “Category” system for pagesEach page could belong to a category (including an “Uncategorized” one). Categories would be collapsible, making it easier to compactly view large sets of pages. All members in a file would share the same category structure. For context, I actually created a plugin that categorizes and lets users jump between pages:👉 Fast Page Selector (Figma Community)However, since it needs to be manually launched every time, it didn’t quite become a daily habit. That’s why I hope this feature can be built directly into Figma.2.
