I would like to make lines of text that, when hovered, display actions in an action bar. However, when I move the mouse over the action bar, I leave my frame, since the action bar is in absolute position. We’d need an option to make absolute elements hoverable and clickable even if they are outside the main frame.
Figma currently shares email updates with the subject header stating: " Your week on Figma Community" which is great when it comes to viewing the progress your profile has made in the past week. Also comes a total stats section where the total statistical figures regarding your posts can be seen including the number of views, copies made, saves and comments on various posts you’ve made on your Figma community profile. Although in addition Figma can really add a mini dashboard on top of the community profile page on the Figma Website, right below the top cover or maybe replacing the top cover. This could depict some stats like total views, copies made, saves from all the files from the very start of the profile till date. Along with this the progressive numbers can be shown in percentages such as the up or down percentage for views, copies made, saves and comments this week than the last week or something around this concept. Further to view such details with respect to individual post
I’ve compiled a wishlist of desired updates for Figma in 2024. I’d love to hear your thoughts and additions. What features or improvements are on your wishlist? Layout Features: Enable aspect ratio customization for any object Implement fixed aspect ratio functionality Introduce width and height settings as percentage values Introduce an option to limit width filling of wrapping items in auto-layout mode Incorporate full 360° rotation capability Variable Management: Introduce opacity control for linked variables Enable resizing of variable columns in the variable collections window Implement drag-and-drop functionality for rearranging variable modes Provide the capability to assign variables as page backgrounds Extend variable functionality to all typography properties Allow stacking of variables, such as multiple variables for stroke attributes Component Property Enhancements: Integrate an image picker for components (e.g., cards) to set custom background images Add a color picke
Hi there! I want to share an idea. I think it will be excellent to add a new permission for only edit texts. For example, our content managers want to edit some texts and designers don’t have time to fix all the content manager’s wishes.
PiP; with FigJam as like the “shift-enter” prototype screen in Figma where I can see my FigJam notes in my Figma design file or above it, exit it, and still work in my Figma file so I don’t muddy up the file copying and pasting from FigJam to Figma.
So, the design pannel is absolutely terrible. I need to go into the console to manually change the width of the design pannel. I need to do this everytime I start the app or open a new project/tab. Please just make it scalable with the Figma UI.
In a complex structure with multiple instances overlapping, it is difficult to locate a property object that is modified I repeat multiple clicks and trace back the layer panel to find the properties I want
Please hide phone navigation bar when we preview the prototype on Figma Mirror, mostly i always accidentally pressed phone navigation button when i want to click a menu from navbar in UI 😦 btw, previous version wasn’t like this 😉
Once you open local varables by default some accordion elements are always and you need manually close each of them. It may be tedious if you have a lot of tokens to do so
Figma is the fastest way to share a slide deck with your team, in comparison to porting over content to Google Slides. However, the inability to scan the deck prevents people from being able to quickly navigate to the right slide. Allowing viewers to see thumbnails of the entire deck would enable teams to effectively cut out Google Slides.
it would be great to be able to quickly draw squares and circles like you can in Invision Freehand by dragging the pencil in a diagonal or circular fashion. This allows for quick wireframing while speaking to stakeholders and collaborators.
Current behaviour on Mac app using the keyboard shortcut is to go from: on zoom in: 100% to 200% to 400% to 800% on zoom out: 100% to 50% to 25% to 13% to 6% It’s clearly a hard coded zoom value to multiply by 2 or divide by 2. The factor of 2 works great if you need to quickly zoom in or out, but falls short in providing users with more control in many situations. It becomes a real pain to use when a more gradual zoom in/out is needed, especially in the absense of a trackpad or a mouse wheel (this affects mac and pc) . Some use cases: during remote screen share (google meet, zoom, etc) what looks fine at 100% on a 32in monitor to the designer is too small on the screen share to the rest of the stakeholders and it requires a 130% zoom for proper viewing. There’s a clear difference in overall size when comparing ui in the browser and Figma (widths, text, and all measurements are the same on both: browser and Figma) and zooming out in Figma to 87% is more accurate to what the ui will
When tagging team members, the team member doesn’t seem to get the notification email until about an hour after the initial tag. This needs to be fixed as it is useless to tag someone and wait that long. A lot of teams have to move fast.
I’m happy with the mind map widget (finally) I would like it if I can make it into a Directed Graph (ie) a leaf can have 2 parents
With Spotify’s New Year listen recap as inspiration, it would be great if Figma could have a highlight reel of the work you did in Figma. Projects you worked on, comments you checked off, timelines. This would be so helpful for performance reviews too!
I noticed while adding documentation in our prototype flows, that Figma detects Markdown a bit too good sometimes 😅 Provided recording below: What I wanted to do: Type something that is FORMATTED_LIKE_THIS Instead, what I got: The text renders into FORMATTINGLIKETHIS Is it possible to have a preview mode for the description or just have a way to escape the underscore character in descriptions?
I think it’d be a great idea to have a feature that allows users to reply to individual comments in a comment, like a thread. This would be helpful for when you have, say, 5 comments in a single comment and need to respond to each of them.
Today I can use Enter / Shift + Enter to go in / out one level when selecting an element. If the element has child elements, I can use Tab / Shift + Tab to rotate through the child element’s siblings. However, when navigating multiple elements with child elements, the Tab / Shift + Tab shortcut does not work to rotate through the siblings. @Svarry describes this well here: How to navigate between sibling layers? Ask the community Currently, you can press enter to go down one step in layers, and shift-enter to go up. That’s really useful, but completely pointless when there’s multiple layers at same level, and you need to select only one of them. Is it possible to somehow select only first in the list, or navigate to next sibling? Because right now, when I enter into a deeper layer, it selects all layers within making any kind of manipulation impossible. Having the ability to navigate child elements in bulk would be immensely useful and make the existin
It would be great if add the left Alt functionality with the right Alt button too.
In FigJam, it is very inconvenient for me to create something like a user journey, which keeps growing horizontally, and having to extend ONE LINE AT A TIME. can I just select 10 horizontal lines and extend them ONLY horizontally when clicking on a vertical edge of the bulk bounding box? The current feature extends both the horizontal line AND the vertical space between them, in scale, NO MATTER WHERE I CLICK. The horizontal length and vertical intervals should ONLY extend both X and Y length when clicking on the corner selector. This has been a very frustrating experience.
I am new to Figma plugin development. I want to read the HTML file using filereader instead the code.js. I have installed the filereader using npm. now I am facing below error while using require to import the package. As I came to know the require is not supporting in Figma. Kindly suggest the possible way to import the filereader package.
@Figma_Team1 Could we get a markup tool similar to those in Zoom screen shares? Except whatever you draw stays on the screen. It would be great to have another “layer” on top of our files to illustrate flows, etc. It would be incredibly helpful during a screen share with my team. Thanks!
I tried to make multilingual interface with russian and english languages. But sometimes i can’t use variables because text has this strustrure: WORD+NUMBER (or symbol) like Contract: 3331242143. In this example i only need to use token on a word CONTRACT but without numbers and “:” in token. I think we need a way to use token in part of text block
• Be able to save to the same library from multiple files • Be able to add notes to a component in the library (e.g. a note to devs on how a component should function) • Be able to view the library full screen as a UI toolkit • The full page site styles overview you used to have (or maybe it was sketch that had it?) User story Currently, I’m working on an app, I split the Figma pages by ticket so it’s clear what the devs need to be looking at. But, if a new component appears on multiple pages I then need to copy the note to the devs on to each of those pages (It doesn’t make sense to create a design for a new page in my UI library because that should just be for components)
Although it’s a small function, I think it will be useful. When selecting a grouped element, display the number of elements in the group at the top
