Hi! I need your help. In my company we have multiple Figma files (design projects) within one project. Usually they consist flows. Do you know a way, tool or a plugin to merge them? Create one huge flow, tree, connect them? And keep them up to date automatically? These are my thoughts so far: Building one file with the whole flow could be possible, just keeping it up to date would be a nightmare Create a flow with tiles, titles and links to Figma files in them
Hi, my organization nees the ability to track the usage of one or several prototypes and to be able to measure the accessibility and overal use, some kind of detailed analytics. We need to be able to see visitors per prototype and a history, date/time, visitor or guest, total number of visits etc. I know Invision had this feature Analitycs Dashboard were you could track all this. I’ m wondering if something similar is availabe in Figma. Maybe is already available somewhere, if yes, can you give me some hints on how to get there? Maybe a plug in available? Thank you
I am sharing a prototype for a group of people to use. I have created a link and password. I need to know who has been seeing my prototype. This data is surely stored in the database, Can we surface it to the users please?
Currently, I see when I select a layer which has been overridden, there are 2 places to reset that layer: one in the 3 buttons and one in the “more” menu. But I also noticed some of these buttons for other types of selection, some of them has this kind of a split button to attach a menu to it: So I am wondering why don’t you make a “reset” menu next to the main button like this:
It’s hard to find relevant files with the current search.
Really don`t like the approach that I need to create a lot of additional auto-layouts just to have different spacing between components. I guess Adobe XD have a more convenient way to do it.
As a non-designer who uses Figma often, I constantly find myself getting “lost” in the “blank grey space” of Figma files, then have to scroll through and zoom in/out frantically in order to find the actual design content. Or I need to find old comments to bring me back, or follow coworkers who are currently in the design… etc. This happens in FigJam too. It would be great to have a shortcut that “re-positions” you back into the actual content!
I’ve been using the Number variable feature in Figma to specify margin values, applying it only to the areas corresponding to the margins within the layout. For the auto layout’s gaps, which don’t correspond to margins, I’ve been manually inputting numbers instead of applying Number variables. However, in dev mode, I’ve noticed that the suggested variable usage based on the value automatically proposes the closest Number variable value, which is then reflected in the code (you can also see the ‘Suggested variable usage based on the value’ tooltip). Due to this suggestion feature, using Number variables has become quite inconvenient for me. I believe there should be an option to disable the Number variable suggestion feature.
It would be nice to have a feature within the comments function where we can temporarily mute a specific user or project’s comment notifications. Or it could be a “Figma Focus Mode” where we won’t receive multiple comment notifications.
Not sure how common/uncommon this issue is, but recently I’ve had a few projects from clients where they want to use the prototype preview as a final product. In the most recent project, they have lists of text that they want people to be able to copy (within the preview). I know that the content in the preview is not built with markup (rather just a canvas), so any kind of solve that requires selecting text would be a huge change that would require an overhaul of the entire engine, and hence, is unrealistic to implement. However, creating an interaction that will tie an ‘On Click’ to copy text to the clipboard would be much easier to implement. In the list of options for ‘On Click’ you could add ‘copy to clipboard’, then in the settings for the action you could provide a text box where the text to be copied could be pasted in. Alternatively you could have the option to copy an image instead. Thanks!
Hi everyone, I don’t know if it is possible, to hide labels from the contextual panel (the right panel). For me, the new interface creates a little bit of frustration, besides the fact that I Like testing new things and UIs, but: I don’t like that everything moved somewhere else; I guess, in the right panel, things are moved down because of the new field labels. I understand that makes the app easier for new users to find actions, but for advanced users who are familiar with the old UI, the new UI adds a little bit of friction. That’s all that I want to say.
Only deterrent to switching over from Google slides.
An engineer and I (UX designer) were looking at a crazy complicated technical flow in FigJam and thought how nice it would be that if you selected 2 nodes in said flow, it would show if they were connected.
While creating a vertical scroll, I came across a problem where I cannot stay in the same frame to make the scroll bar indicator as a relative interaction to the scroll of the list.
Please Please move Object Properties to the bottom of the bar. The most used blocks in the Right Panels are Position, Auto Layout and the rest, so my eyes are constantly darting to those data fields. When they are fixed in their position, like in Sketch and all Adobe, this darting action is automatic, instinctive and intuitive. So whenever I want to change some value, I should find the accustomed to field in its place when I look. But Object Properties Tab is object dependent, meaning that it constantly changes its sizes, pushing all those important blocks down. So I find myself always looking for the needed field, scanning all the panel every time. It is taking up time and taxing on the eyes and stresses me out. Please move it to the bottom of the Bar, or right above Export, which is not used that often. My eyes hurt, literally. Think of something, guys, please. Even if you add separate Bar to the Right of the right bar for only Object Properties, it would be better
It would be super nice if we could have a quicker way of creating variables. For example I would like to be able to select multiple frames and create variables for all text frames, then I could easily populate them in the variable manager. Its tedious to create text variables one by one.
It would be much easier to set the tone for a workgroup or describe the mood of a product if we could embed audio into a jam file. I assume this is a lot more difficult then it sounds given that there is a compatibility layer between figma and figjam … but this is an essential feature for a whiteboard application imo. 🙂
Hello, I was using the magnification slider daily. Then, you updated the app and removed it. Please bring back the slider, it was very useful
I’m having problems changing (or removing which is what I want to do) the corner radius of a table created in Figma Slides. I’m in design mode and the corner radius settings are there under ‘Appearence’ settings to the right, BUT for some reason it’s locked and can’t be changed. Could this be a bug or is there something I’m missing?
It’s kind of limiting that Figma only lets you add padding to auto-layout frames. This setup often means we’re using auto-layout just to add padding, even when it’s not really needed to be an auto-layout. Which sprouts out a few additional layout issues in the process. In CSS, you can add padding to pretty much anything, like individual text elements, which keeps things more straightforward. Would be amazing if Figma allowed padding on more than just auto-layouts to make designs more flexible and keep the setup simpler. Any chance we might see this added?
I have searched a bit, and I can see that there have been previous requests on this matter, but that is now closed. I actually see this more as a bug that this feature is missing than a missing feature. So, please add this minor feature soon to Figma. It would be very helpful. It is very rare that I actually use stroke in outline mode, but when I do, I expect that you can set an offset unrelated to having an auto-layout on a shape, text, or component. I honestly thought this would be possible, but I have had to hack my way to create this for my needs. To elaborate, I’m creating a design system within it covering the focus state for various form components. The easy method would have been to add a stroke in outline mode and put an offset on 1 px. This would also automatically follow when the field area is set to fill, but instead, I had to hack this by adding an additional auto-layout with a shape inside that covers the same area of the form field. The original auto-layout then had to b
Hello, In an Organization, plugins approval requests from users are either on or off. It should be possible to distinguish paid plugins from free ones, since the Org would like to only manage costs, and let users install free plugins as they wish. Plus, allowing a plugin allows it for the whole Organization. As a user, if i need a very specific plugin for some precise need, i don’t see why my whole organization should be impacted by having access to that plugin. Seems totally overkill.
I have semantic-level variables for various component widths, heights, and spacing. In order to apply them to an element in the UI, I have to click the select input field, which surfaces the drop-down. Then I have to click the “apply variable” option. Then I have to scroll to find the variable I want, and then I have to select the variable. This results in 4 user interactions, which is unfortunately slower/less intuitive than typing in a fixed number value. 2 ideas to simplify this process: a shortcut when clicking the select input field to automatically open the variable list (preferred) allow users to type the variable name in the input field to and surface a search drop-down. For example, if I had a variable defined as col-8, with a value of 856 and number scope of width/height, and I typed in “col-8” into the width property text input, a drop-down would surface with the col-8 variable focused and I could click ENTER to apply the variable.
The behavior is now inconsistent between annotations and the UI at large.
Problem A page can have loads of frames / screens. When I have to link many objects on a screen to many other frames, its time-consuming and tedious to manually select from the dropdown list or create a line connector between each frame (especially if its a big project - zooming in / out constantly is mentally jarring). Proposal: Allow users to search through the destinations list, so they can quickly link to frames from the prototype. This would save SO much time.
