No reference for editted comments, or comment edit-historythis makes comments a very unreliable toolpeople can comment one thing one day, then edit it the other day, with no record. this can lead to real trust issues in teams. please fix. examples (whatsapp, facebook): reference for “edited” status - whatsapp web:reference for “edited” status - facebookreference for edit history - facebook desktop web
Linking modes to breakpoints and being able to adjust on the fly is a real game changer. The thing that I’m missing tho, after typography support was recently added, is the ability to also use variables on the alignment settings of typography. Is this something that is being considered?
In my Figma design file, I have used multiple libraries. Is there any plug-in or which is better way to identify used component belongs to which library? Best, Pankaj
Different than having a fully editable component instance, I would really like if there was a new object type (or maybe the frame object could be extended) so that it could serve as a fully editable space within a component. So basically when I use an instance of that component, I can populate this editable container with anything I want, and still retain the relationship to the original component (not having to detach it). My current workflow has me nesting a “content area” component instance into the a larger component (think page layout, card, modal, etc), and then creating my custom content as a separate component and doing an instance swap to get my custom content into that larger component. It’s either this, or just detaching the larger component and putting my content inside of it, which then defeats the purpose of having that larger component and then it’s just acting a template. This has bothered me for years and I searched for a solution to/request for this and can’t believe
I can’t use a number variable for stroke thickness but I need to, in order to support a particular button design. May as well make variables an option for dash and gap numbers, too.
I wonder if there are any plans on your roadmap to enable viewing variant descriptions directly within Figma?Currently, only design system editors can see the variant library and associated descriptions, which makes it challenging for other team members to understand the purpose or intended use of specific variants. Having a way for all users—designers, developers, and stakeholders—to view variant descriptions without requiring editor access would significantly enhance collaboration, improve understanding of the design system, and reduce dependency on editors for clarification. This feature would empower teams to work more efficiently and ensure consistency in using components across projects.
Hey guys, This is a feature request. Let; say I am designing a website. I create a certain grid (column/gutter) and I start adding components, aligning them to the grid I previously created. Let’s say I have quite a few pages, all of course using that same grid. When I finish all the 20 pages of the website, let’s say the client wants to change the grid size. That means I have to resize and reposition every component on all 20 pages, it’s a huge waste of time. How about an option to “link” the components to the grid I created, so that when I change the grid size (column width, gutter width), all the components and elements resize and reposition properly based on the new grid size? It could be checkbox in the frame “Link to grid” and whatever components I size initially based on the grid, those would get resized and repositioned correctly any time I change that grid size. Thanks, Chris
This is the first of three features I want to suggest. When you have your spacing variables, This is what we currently see but what if we see this instead of having to go all the time to the right panel, see below: I find it so annoying and time consuming having to go to the right panel. I hope you guys can consider this, thank you!
I’ll keep it short and sweet;I’d love a feature in which it would be possible to set the height and width of an object to be changed in multiples of a set number of pixels. So if you’d increase in height your grid would remain the same.
As you all knew, if you have a variable applied to a layer, it will be displayed with full path with every group it is in, like thisExtended Design panelBut when I resize the Design panel to a narrower size, it will truncate the text at the endMinimized Design panelI feel it is time consuming every time I have to hover all the variables to make sure the correct variables are applied. In most cases, I noticed they have different names, despite of they are in same or different groups. So I wonder if it is more convenient to right align their names like this, to prioritize showing the name, not the group:
The new feature of copy and pasting variables over to new collections is a great addition, however its not currently usable. One major improvement that needs to happen— when pasting into the new collection the order of the variables is completely messed up, it should retain the organization from the original list. Also better yet it would be immensely helpful to just have a duplicate collection option. Thanks for all your hard work Figma team.
As a product manager, I often comment on a design file, I would like to have an option to label the comment with priority - critical, high, medium, low or 1-5, so the product designer will know what to focus on first. Furthermore: Each priority color/icon should be really clear on first look over all comments to help open the most important comments. The notifications section should allow sorting the comments by priority. Also, labeling the comments could help for versions division - adding “next version” tag / “current version” tag, or in general, costume tags that match the team internal process.
I made the gif and wanted that to be blurred slightly, but after i apply blur all the text added which is also getting blurred either that should be controllable with sent to back/bring front options or if there is layer option where we can organize object in the layers To control the objects visibility & make the editing easy we need the selection control bar
The Ui in figma is easy, the project files and folders is simple, navigating is simple.Yet an account person I’ve worked with can’t seem to ever find the current page. Sending a new link doesn’t kick her into the current page, she’s still in the page she dug out of the archives. I’d be fine with this and understand and be patient with her EXCEPT she is complaining about all the links, asking me for links each time she wants to get in and is pointing the finger at figma like it’s figmas problem. We are only circulating two files guys…I try to get her to highlight my person, it’s like..leading horse to water...Give me the capability to grab my coworkers cursor and place them in the correct page PUH LEEZE. I’m loosing my mind. I will settle for a pop up invitation that takes over her screen and gives her the option to “Follow The Person Who Knows What they’re Doing”
it would be so incredibly helpful if i could open up nested canvases right inline as i’m working on a design.so for example, i’m working on a screen with a component stored somewhere else (like way off to the side on that same canvas or in a diff page in the same file or even in a separate design system file) and then be able to press a button to open the main component in a nested (or “popup”) canvas so i can edit it, then close the nested window and continue working on the main design. this would help me to not break context and stay in my flow.would also be very cool if i could create instances of those nested canvases manually too. if i could define a happy path series of screens and then underneath them create a button/link/something that opens an “error states” nested canvas, then i could keep the main design clean & clear and still allow people to jump into details without leaving the current context. this would also really help me as i’m designing to have a separate space t
I typically choose multiple properties, but I have to keep clicking open the dropdown. TONNNNNNS of clicks.
I wanna present the prototype like slides. It will be benefit to have the title on top and differentiate subtle interaction on screen. Sometimes I get lost and need to go back to design mode.
Please add the auto page number function. I’ve been expecting this before Figma slides 🙂
We use Fig Jam for user research analysis and there are only 9 colors of stickies so it limits us to how we can use them. We should be able to customize the colors of the sticky notes, or at least have more colors!
When I share my screen - I don’t want my customers see the NDA projects and teams I work with. Here’s my solution:
Please enable playing of videos in design mode and dev mode, not just prototype mode. As a designer, I want to be able to include videos that viewers may play, So that my viewers/designers/devs may better understand what I have designed. As a dev, I want to be able to include videos that viewers may play, So that my viewers/designers/devs may better understand my thoughts visually Better still, I can then link videos to take people on a narrated tour of my design. Currently, videos do not play inline on the design, but need to pop up in a preview modal. Not great UX from a UX platform. Check out Miro Talktrack for inspiration: Create a Talktrack in Miro
The Missing Fonts replacement tool that becomes available when you are missing a font in Figma is really useful. Why not make it available all the time for any and all font replacement?Could be an easy feature to add since the tool already exists.
I would like to have the mirror feature be locked to a specific frame so that i’m able to see direct changes on the device of choice. What happens today; I select a frame that i want to view, go to edit another frame ( this could be a component ) and mirror switches aautomatically. All i want is a way to hold the focus on the one frame until i say so. It would make life so much easier especially during meetings where changes are requested on the spot and the test device will then switch between too many different items which ends up distracting the stake holders. So much pain! Thanks.
I usually have 3-4 Figma documents open and it would be super helpful to have a quick indicator as to which documents have new comments in them. The toolbar’s comment tool icon has the red dot indicator which is great, but having it in the tab itself would be even more useful.
Add it as a toggle here, so you don’t need to go trough the Assets panel and right click on the component.
