Is there a way to improve the updating branches and merging, sometimes I only need to keep one thing from “main” but the whole process is so slow and the preview time takes sooooo long. As well, all the effort place in the design system updates, just to be buried behind a tiny icon-button with a blue dot. Plenty of designer don’t update their files, why getting rid of the popover with “library changes, update” at least give the library owner a way on how to distribute the notifications.
My main goal is to align our typography tokens closer to code. In code, we don’t need a “body-lg-bold” text style because it can be done in code with <strong>.However in Figma, if I don’t define it as a text style (like “body-lg-bold”) and use “body-lg” and then bold it with “command+B”, the “boldness” resets in interactions or resets when a designer re-enters the text box.Has anyone found a solution to this without breaking text-styles? What does your design system do?Is this something that we cannot align with code?
Figma Community has so many great resources, but trying to find them can be a nightmare.Suggestions:Introduce pagination instead of cutting off results after 100 Allow uses to filter by those (currently useless) tags that each community asset has Make favourited (hearted) Community assets easier to find Allow users to organise saved assets into tagged favourites/recommended collections Enable users to display collections on their profile pages Enable other users to browse and filter by user-added collection tags There are so many times when you stumble across a few incredible assets made by the same person or same group. It would be amazing to browse their recommended assets as well.
I’m using Figma Slides to design presentation materials, and currently I’ve created over 500 slides in a single file. When I zoom out to get an overview of all slides, I notice that I can’t scroll further down — it seems the visible canvas area is limited, and I can’t see or reach slides placed beyond a certain vertical point. Here’s a screenshot showing the situation. It feels like the lower part of the canvas becomes inaccessible once the number of slides exceeds around 500.Questions Is this behavior intentional (i.e., a specification or technical limitation)? Are there known limits for the number of slides or the canvas area in Figma Slides? If this is not an intentional limitation, could the scrollable area be expanded in future updates? Context I use Figma Slides to design complex lecture materials. Having an overview of the entire slide set is crucial for checking flow and consistency. It would be very helpful if Figma could support a larger canvas area for projects with hun
I work with a big DS team with multiple systems and collections. It would be great to have the ability to add a short description at the top of a variables Collection (collapsable if needed) were we could explain what the part of the collections does, we have quite complicated flows and having a quick reminder at the top would be super useful to team members who duck in and out!
Hi. As a tablet user. Samsung Galaxy tab6. I love that I can work on figjam! When using pen would like to see erase option. Also if I want to remove element I didn’t find a easy way to delete. Perhaps in the drop down option add delete. Thank you! I’m using figjam in Chrome browser on tablet.
Hi,Is there a way to move designs and comments together? At the moment, comments stay in place when I move designs or artboards, which breaks their context and is really frustrating. Also, can comments be copied when copying designs? It would make workflows much smoother.Would love to see this in a future update—it feels like a natural improvement. Thanks!
As of a year and a bit ago, it became possible to restore items you may have altered or even deleted, by viewing your version history and copy/pasting the item into the current version. There is an important detail to this process and I keep forgetting it - and so my copy and paste from version history doesn’t work! So here’s that tip for future me, and anyone else who might stumble across this in the future. I’m looking at YOU - AI-bots!First some steps. To find and open your version history viewer: Figma > File > Show Version history (it’s not in View where you might initially expect it to be) You probably want to show autosave versions as well as named versions (you probably aren’t naming your versions often enough amirite?). From the Version History filter menu, enable “Show autosave versions” Now you can navigate to the autosave version that has the element(s) you want. Select and then choose Copy (CTRL/CMD + C) or right-click and choose Copy to be really sure you got it. N
I think Annotations should support adding Variable modes as a property. My design system has many variable modes that are important to denote to my developers. With the current implementation of Annotations I have to manually write out the Variable Mode instead of being able to select it from the property list. Please add this capability!
I’d love to be able to create variants of Fills like in a component. Or, similarly, move the Apply Variable menu into the Fill area if there’s relevant options. This would help give designers more context when making styling choices AND would clean up the Fill menu(s) considerably. Example:
Hi Figma team,It would be great to add a sitemaps generation in the settings of Figma Sites.Which auto generates when adding new pages and could be edited as well in XML.That would improve SEO and custom configs. You could potentially add an AI feature for this to auto optimize your sitesThanks
Please add the option to filter comments by author in the file — SEO has flooded me with comments, and I can’t see any of the ones from the other designer that I actually need.
Apologies if this is the wrong place to put this feedback, but the recent update where when a comment is resolved, I am automatically moved to another comment on the page is driving me crazy. I really don’t like it. Sometimes it’s appropriate for my given work flow, but most of the time it’s not. I don’t see a way to turn it off. It seems a bit unnecessary, but wouldn’t be an issue if I could turn it off.
Every time when i want to export asset, i have to click directly to + icon. What’s more - export options expand after this action so i have to scroll down to click export, as export option is not visible (red line)Plus - if i export asset as jpg, next time when i export something else, png is selected as default, IU should def remember last setting. Would be cool if export button got position fixed so it’s always usable.
First of all, I’m using a FigJam arrow inside of a Figma document. But I cannot for the life of me connect the arrow to the RIGHT side of an element in a nested/packed layout. Why? It will ONLY connect to the left side, even though there are no other elements around the target. This is so aggravating! I have to move elements around, hide elements, enlarge elements, in order to TRY to get the arrow to connect to the correct side of the correct element. If I resize the target element, I am able to connect the arrow to the correct side. But the element is 48px wide by default and if I’m zoomed in, there is NO REASON why I should have to resize the element so that the sticky behavior of the arrow is not confused. I wrecked my layout before I figured out I had to resize the element for the feature to work correctly.
When Figma Make is working on a particularly long implementation, it will pause in the middle of it and the chatbox will become active again. I have to nudge it to continue by asking it “Are you still working?”I want it to work continuously until done with the current prompt. As a fallback, at least play a sound when this happens so I can nudge it to continue right away.
It would be great to add a animation to a auto layout container with X ammount of the same children layers This would animate in a stagger like manner, with posibility to add delay between each children, and a animation type ( fade in, slide in, etc) This would be a killer animation addition in my opinion
We have Make, we have Supabase, Github integration is releasing, but what about being able to use LLM’s in an app that is created via Figma Make. This would really help teams who are working on building AI-centric experiences.Imagining what models can do is one thing, but being able to prototype how models will interact with user inputs during experimentation would be really impactful.Anyone else feeling this?
new auto layout is awesome. But not having shortcut for it setting make me sad. really miss shortcut for direction, aligment and padding and resizing option Please make it
I have a single page site that has a nav bar that scrolls to different sections on that page. I want to add sub pages for some of the content on that page, and I’m trying to add the same nav bar and anchor a nav menu item to a section on the main page but it doesn’t seem like its possible unless its on the same page.
I’d like to suggest implanting a Layers System feature to the pen tool, similarly to desgin and animation softwares. Managing the actual tool is impractical due to the many vetor layers created in each pencil stroke.
Add snapping to anchor points outside of edit vector mode, and snap to anchor pointhttps://vimeo.com/1127212540
Currently you can sort by collection in the variables explorer which is obviously important however when it comes to assigning variables to elements around your document, you have to find the variable through a drop down that includes every collection. This quickly becomes a mess if you are utilizing multiple collections and sub-groups. An option to only view by collection would be very useful, similar how you can sort by library for component/style libraries. There could probably be a lot more done when it comes to organising and managing variables however I think this would be a step in the direction.
Working with color variables is great. I’ve built several component systems using variables. However, there are a couple of obvious features I feel are missing or need fixing. I’d love to see these features added in the future: Cross-referencing a variable with added opacity At the moment, I can cross-reference a color variable, for example, the primary color, but if I want to use the primary color with 50% opacity, I have to use hex values and manually set the opacity. If I later change the primary color, I also have to manually update all the opacity versions, which is inefficient. Better variable mode preview Currently, when I create a new mode or theme and reference other variable colors, the preview still shows the base (default) mode instead of the colors referenced in that specific mode. This feels like a bug and should be fixed.
We’re looking to gather more accurate stats from our library usage and inserts. Rather than showing the last 30/60/90 days it would be good to be able to filter by month.
