Dear Figma Team,

I am a big Figma fan and want to fully transition from Adobe, I’ve identified two key text-related SIMPLE features that would greatly improve Figma’s layout design capabilities:

  1. Text Wrapping Between Text Boxes
Figma currently lacks the ability to wrap text between multiple text boxes, making multi-column layouts cumbersome. A native text threading feature (like Adobe indesign) would allow text to flow dynamically between boxes, especially when resizing frames.

  2. Hyphenation for Improved Text Alignment
Long paragraphs in Figma often result in uneven spacing at the edges. A hyphenation feature (like Adobe Indesign) would automatically add dashes to break words at line ends, improving readability and visual consistency.

These features would make Figma more versatile for typography-heavy designs and streamline workflows for users transitioning from other tools.

The community has been asking for this improvements for years and still we have not seen any response from you. Please give us something, this are basic design features required for any layout design Web and not.

Thank you for considering these enhancements! The community is hoping

Best regards,

Hey Michele,

You may try Nisa Text plugin (https://www.figma.com/community/plugin/739048247603902878/nisa-text). I recently added  Hyphenation feature.

Nisa Text plugin solves the issue, until the free trial ends and you are slapped with a paywall. We need hyphenation natively in Figma! It’s literally just a basic property in CSS, so what gives? I know that adding cool effects like liquid glass is great and shiny, I love using it, but some basic, boring core features like the ones Michele12 mentioned are very important for the richness of Figma.

I still can’t comprehend how is possible that they haven’t tackled such a basic feature...is a mistery to me. This would make everyone’s day to day life soooo much better.
