On the “Members” page of the admin section, it’s possible to filter the list by one or more criteria. One of these filters is “seat type”, with the values “viewer”, “full”, and “viewer-restricted”. The problem is, the “seat type” filter doesn’t really do anything: Filtering by “viewer” shows both “viewer” and “viewer-restricted” seats. As a result, it’s not possible to distinguish which people could be upgraded by anyone vs. those whose upgrades require admin approval. Filtering by any value applies the value to any seat type (design, dev, FigJam). So it’s impossible to distinguish between who has a “full” licence for design seats vs. dev seats vs. FigJam seats. “Full” shows anyone who has a full licence for anything. Worse, since our organization has a policy to set “viewer-restricted” for FigJam, selecting either “viewer” or “viewer-restricted” filters (see my first point, just above) shows… everyone. The “Members” page was already a bit difficult to work with when there were only tw
I use my drafts to spin up quick Ideas I might want to mock up in HTML and dont want to commit those files to the company folder structure since they are drafts. The only way i can go and view properties now is if I share the doc with myself on another account.
In the new annotations feature in dev mode, the annotations get minimized into an almost unnoticeable dot. I frequently have developers who are moving fast and miss notes even when called out larger. I shouldn’t have to expect my engineers to zoom in to 200% to see that there are multiple notes because only one is shown by default. I’d like for there to be a toggle on/off or something more prominent when minimized that shows there are annotations that must be reviewed. In its current state I likely won’t use annotations because it won’t be prominent enough and I’ll go back to the old manual way of leaving notes.
Frames sometimes work as folders, would be great to be able to create pages inside pages.
I already unchecked all email notifications and I still get them after a few weeks. Please add an unsubscribe button in your emails. Thank you! 😃
Hi! I’ve been learning how to prototype using Figma and I couldn’t find a proper way to use Smart Animation with an Instant Transition for unmatched layers. The only workaround I could think of was using Instant Transition to navigate + an After delay Interaction which triggers the Smart Animation, but it requires a lot of extra frames and configuration. I think it would be nice to have this feature in the future. If it’s currently supported, I apologize and greatly appreciate it if you can tell me how. Here’s a playground I’ve made to demostrate it better: https://www.figma.com/file/UrYrZnXlLu9cY4YLgAuqwR/Instant-Transition-support-for-Smart-Animate?type=design&node-id=0%3A1&mode=design&t=ziFzZFfH9VFUTPkf-1
Hi, We just realized that this marvelous feature can be quite confusing. Showing Status in the Pages preview looks like there are subpages, especially in our case (see photo) but also in general. Also combined with this request it could make sense to add ‘mixed’ icon in the Pages preview beside of all requested ones.
It would be great to have the possibility to align selected Preferred values. I have a simple component (a row for settings for mobile app). The title is on the left and the button (component) is on the right side. I add some other Preferred values to the button but when I change the button with Toggle (for example) I can’t set its alignment. The button is wider than the toggle. When I swap them, the toggle displays in the center of the place where a button was. PS I tried putting the button in auto layout with align set to the left but it didn’t work PPS I understand that this feature was more for using different icons but it would be useful to upgrade it
Is there any solution to disable this feature? It’s very annoying!
If I click on ‘add child’ on ‘Lorem Ipsum’, I expect it to be in between ‘Lorem Ipsum’ and ‘Amet’ as ‘Dolor Sit’. But instead, it adds as a sibling to ‘Amet’. It would be better to have two different options, the current ‘add child’ and ‘add in between’. Significance? - Imagine there are 50+ items next to ‘Amet’ Note: This is from Mind Map widget
I saw where on the new Figma update, there’s a light/dark mode. I don’t see it on mines. I have the PROFESSIONAL Version
My Designer and I are working on a topic guide with a huge text field. we cannot type in it at the same time which slows down the workflow. Can we make it possible to do so?
Instead of creating branches on a per-file basis, why not create and manage branches on a team basis, the same way we do in development?
Hi, ADHD here. You guys are awesome. Please give us a way to open notifications in a full screen tab, or a multi-tasking window, or just something bigger than a tiny scroller that never ends. I need to hyperfocus on notifications sometimes, if I want to stay on top of requests from work. I need the option to allow you to command my attention, please. Thank you.
My team would like to be able to off multiplayer cursors (i.e. seeing other users cursors moving around) when accessing a file anonymously. This is because we use FigJam boards for retrospective meetings where people are encouraged to comment anonymously. Several members of the team find multiplayer cursors extremely distracting, but the option to turn them off is not available when accessing the board anonymously.
Hello. We’re using Figma as part of our work. We used Miro before, but changed to Figma because of economic reasons as far as I know. In this process there’s hundreds of us switching from Miro to Figma, but I can only speak for myself when I say that it would be fantastic if we had the option to change how to zoom in/out and move around so that it’s more easy for us used to the Miro keyboard shortcuts to transition to Figma. Best regards, Andreas
Hi Don’t you think it’s misleading that the “edit” button in link edit modal doesn’t indicate it is actually a button? Analogically the button in the next step inside this modal. I understand that we don’t want to change mouse cursor while hovering over it since it changes when we hover over the link itself. But maybe some subtle hover state would make it? Like slight lighting the bg
By Branching I mean the Git or other version control version of branching. Branch and merge. Many of our components are actually just offshoots of other components. No way to track. But how this happens is: My colleague saves a full page layout that has SIX CARDS, in a grid 3 columns and 2 rows. Now I want to make the layout wide. It makes sense to add more columns. Now I want to make it longer, now I want to add more rows. In order to do this, I have to break the component as is, and create another variant of that component that has more rows or more columns. So that’s a pain. But more likely, what will happen is I break the component, and then my designs can start diverging in subtle ways that then have to be audited or rejected by engineering. This is turning into a massive pain. We’re in the thousands of components with no end in sight. Now we have someone spending half their days just wrangling our component library. And they’re drowning.
Currently, the Flatten Selection command works in such a way that it removes all selected layers and creates new one. This brakes any internal links that Figma uses while working with components, ex. icons. As a result, you need to manually recolour all instances of an icon component after merging layers in the parent icon. I found a workaround to merge layers properly: Cut all layers except the 1st one. Select 1st layer. Enter vector editing mode by pressing Enter. Paste. This preserve Figma “links”, but require much more actions than a simple Cmd+E. Please make the Cmd+E to work in a way described above or something similar.
I used to love the Auto-layout property before the Absolute positioning property got introduced. The reason for me to love that property was no matter where my items were placed in the frame, it used to automatically align them all together either horizontally or vertically without causing any issues. But, ever since the Absolute positioning property got introduced - I started facing issues with the Auto-layout property, especially for the last item in my selection. Whenever I try to select a list of items and apply the Auto-layout property now if the last item is positioned slightly higher or lower than the others the Auto-layout property automatically sets the position of that last item to Absolute which is annoying and I have to go inside the frame to select that item and remove the Absolute positioning property from it. It’d be nice to not have the Absolute positioning property automatically applied to the item which is positioned slightly different than the others in the list.
Hi, I would like to have “Templates” or something equivalent to Sketch “Appearance”. So that I can then place my components in the template. Use case: For example having a modal box (with fill, border, drop shadow etc.) + auto layout and spacing. Only workaround I know is building “slots” but it feels wrong and seems more like a hack and is not very flexible as well. Or does anyone know another solution? Cheers
It would be cool if there is a possibility to export the flows as pdf. It would be beneficial when documenting for regulatory purposes.
Dear Figma support, 🤚 I’d like to suggest you improve your payment process when a user account is blocked for non-payment. 🙂 Currently, in the event of non-payment of an invoice within the allotted time, you block the account and display only a dialog box that blocks the user and forces him to contact Figma support via a ticketing solution. This process is frustrating, time-consuming and clearly a waste of time for both parties (Figma and customers). Why not propose a forced payment form for the invoice concerned in the dialog box, so that the negligent customer can unlock the account ? 👌 You could also provide a button to contact support and generate a ticket. 👍 This solution has the advantage of directly recovering the funds owed, avoiding a time-consuming and costly ticket for support, and quickly unblocking the situation for your customer ! I’m sharing this improvement with you because I personally encountered this problem today. I’m in France with a
I wanted to offer feedback around some of the reasons our company decided to remove the Figma app from Jira. There are a few things missing or mis-matching between our use of Figma and Jira. Figma is mostly used for software UI design but our DevOps team also use Jam for flowcharts sometimes, Marketing use it for some web and email design work. Jira is also used by several teams in the company, all of the above mentioned ones + several more. This causes some issues with how the “Jira app” is structured. You can setup the app to link to 1 and just 1 team in Figma. But this links to all of Jira. Not to any one team or project in Jira. We would want 2 Figma teams linked to 3-4 Jira projects. The app is not useful in any other Jira project but we were still not able to figure out how to disable the UI added onto all Jira cards. (E.g. “Add a Design” button) In contrast, apps like the one for Slack, Checklist pro, or MS Teams are apps you configure per Jira project. I can also link a speci
