I have created a number of tokens for type:Primitive;Family\tWeight\tSize\tLine Height\tLetter SpacingThen created a number Semantice Type variables for headings font sizes ext.I created these directly in Variables Pane.Originally they all worked with - when I place some text on screen and highlited it th I would go to the Typograpyh panel and variable styles would be listed. However when I publised this file. and attempted to acces the typography it was not available in other files. I feel like I am doing something simle wrong - as it was workgin previously . Any help is very. much appreciated.

Hi, I have a question about how gradients work in Figma.When I use a Fill with a Gradient, what is the difference between using Flatten and Union?This is what I understand:-Flatten: If I select multiple shapes and use Flatten, they become one single shape. Then, the gradient is smooth across the whole shape.-Union: If I use Union, it looks like one shape, but inside, each part is still separate.So the gradient is applied to each shape individually, and the direction can look different for each part. Is this correct? I want to know how Figma really handles this in the background. Thanks.

A few months ago you released the feature to hold option to click and drag to tweak numbers in the color panel etc...This doesn’t work any more and the regular click + drag feature in the places where it’s always been possible seems a little flaky aswell.Edit: It was #19 in the little big updates from H2 2023.

Hi,I am trying to complete Stripe onboarding to sell community resources on Figma but it keeps giving me this error (attached)I’ve been chatting with customer support for the last few days and I was first told it could be an issue with the Postal Code (The UAE doesn’t have postal codes so we normally just use 00000). A couple days later I was told that the issue is because I need to submit it from a user account not a team account (keep in mind that this is a user account not a team account). Now I’ve finally been told that it’s because my country is not supported.I live in the United Arab Emirates and Stripe is supported here (https://stripe.com/ae/global). My client and I are having issues when viewing a Figma prototype on our mobile phones. I have tried in different browsers as well as the Figma app and it always looks the same. It works fine on desktop but everything on mobile looks like the attached screenshot. I have tried a bunch of troubleshooting options I have found in the community but nothing seems to work. Has anyone experienced anything like this before? 

We are on the Organization plan. We have “Public link sharing” enabled. When we attempt to share publicly, there is no “Only those invited” or “Anyone” option. There is only “Anyone in the [organization]”.  I contacted support but the AI bot just keeps telling me to enable “Public link sharing”. Any suggestions would be great.  

When adding a new asset frame in Figma Buzz, it comes with a pre-baked drop shadow that can’t be removed since there’s no Effects panel. So when exporting for an instagram post, for example, it adds unnecessary space to the post.My only workaround is copying all my asset frames into a regular Figma design file to remove the drop shadows, and then exporting from that Figma design file.

Hey, when im starting prototype on my windows desctop app, my font looks normal , but when i am turning on the same file on android phone , or ios tablet the text appears distorted.Im using “Delight” fontThe font looks fine when I’m designing, but when I view the prototype, the text appears distorted or uses a different font entirely. I’ve tried clearing my cache, restarting Figma, and even reinstalling the font, but the problem persists.Has anyone else faced this issue before? Are there any specific settings I should check, or is there a workaround? I’d appreciate any advice or suggestions on how to resolve this!Thanks in advance! 🙏

Hey, guys.I’ve been avoiding Figma like the plague because I think it sucks.  Sadly, I’m in a position where I have to use it…That being said, is Figma’s auto layout stuff supposed to be correlated to flex/gird layout or something? I literally make zero sense is probably one of most asinine concepts I’ve come across in design in ages.Thank. 

Hi, I'm a student at FIT and I'm currently working on my portfolio. I just found out that my School Team Drive file is gone, along with all the projects I had started. I was able to find one of the files, but it says I need permission to edit—even though it's mine.What can I do now? Who should I talk to about this problem?

Unable to add radius on corners using the drag feature. It only seems to work on closed shapes now. Earlier, I could select a point/corner and change the radius of that point alone by dragging across the radius box - now I need to enter a value to apply the radius. Not a huge issue, but this seems like a bug.

We used to be able to share frames that contain flows, mockups, table of contents and more as presentations (like Powerpoint) for customers. This is no longer possible as it now forces our presentations into preset device sizes, which does not let the customer see the whole presentation in full with (frame size). This is literally breaking all of our prototype presentations! Please let us share prototypes like before where we can view a frame at its full size, (fix width/fit height), so the whole frame (containing multiple screens) can be viewed in prototype mode. This is crucial!!!!

Title basically explains it. The “CMD + \\” keyboard shortcut to show/hide the UI in both Figma and Figjam isn’t working for me. I reloaded the page and restarted Figma but still not working. I use this shortcut multiples times a day so it’s definitely impacting my workflow.  I’m on a MacBook Pro with M4 Pro, Sequoia 15.3.1

Hi Figma Support,I'm experiencing repeated crashes when trying to edit color variables in one of my design files. Every time I attempt to modify a color variable (even a small change like selecting a different swatch), Figma immediately crashes with a "Something went wrong" message. This happens consistently, both in the desktop app and in the browser version.Some details:\tThe issue occurs only in a specific file.\t\t\tThe crash is triggered specifically when editing color variables.\t\t\tI've tried duplicating the file, clearing cache, restarting, and switching browsers – the issue persists.\t\t\tVersion history doesn't seem to help, and there are no obvious plugin conflicts.\tCan you please help me identify what might be causing this and how to resolve it? Hello Figma Support Team,I am experiencing an error with the AI generation/mind-mapping feature. * What I was doing: I was trying to generate a mind map or diagram from text input. * What I expected to happen: I expected the tool to generate a diagram based on my input. * What actually happened: I received an error message that says, "Can't generate right now—edit a bit before trying again." The generation tool also appeared to be stuck in a loading state.I have already tried the following: * (Mention if you have tried refreshing the page, restarting the browser, or editing the text).Attached is a screenshot of the error message.Thank you.

My Figma automatically updated to the latest version, but it now says that it is incompatible with my Mac OS version and cannot run. Is there a location I can find the download link for an older version of the desktop app for Mac? Versions prior to 116.17.9 ran correctly. Thanks!

Hola a todos,Estoy intentando insertar vídeos .webm con canal alfa (transparencia) en Figma para mostrar elementos sin fondo. Los .webm han sido exportados correctamente desde After Effects (con fondo transparente) y convertidos a .webm VP9 con la opción "Keep alpha channel" activada en Shutter Encoder.El problema es que algunos vídeos se ven con fondo negro en Figma mientras que otros idénticos (misma comp, misma exportación) se visualizan perfectamente con transparencia. He probado a colocarlos en distintos frames, fuera de auto-layouts, cambiar el fondo del canvas, usar modo Presentación... y el comportamiento es inconsistente.He verificado los .webm en reproductores y algunos tienen transparencia confirmada, pero Figma sigue mostrando fondo negro en ciertos casos sin un patrón claro.¿Alguien ha experimentado este mismo problema? ¿Puede ser un bug de render en Figma? ¿Hay alguna solución o práctica recomendada para insertar vídeos transparentes de forma estable?Gracias de antemano \ud83d

Hi,I need urgent help recovering a project file that suddenly disappeared.Yesterday I worked on it from my main device — everything was normal, and I closed the file as usual.Today, when I opened the same tab again (on the same and another device), I saw a message saying the file was deleted.I checked all folders, Recents, Drafts, and Trash — the file is gone.I also followed the official instructions from the Help Center (including checking the Trash and applying the "Created by: Anyone" filter), but still couldn't find the file anywhere.There were no sync issues while working, and I had full editing access — possibly even ownership.This project is very important and I need to recover it as soon as possible.I'm currently on a Starter plan and can’t reach email support directly, so I really hope someone from the team or community can help, or escalate this internally.Thanks in advance!

Hi everyone ! This is a question for the engineer / design team around the plugin API.First, a big thanks and cheers to the dev team for this API which is a real pleasure to work with.So for context, i’m working on a plugin, and i’ve recently subscribed to dev-mode in order to optimize it for dev-mode. My plugin is a code exporter, and there are multiple reasons that force me to write in the user design :removing things like border, radius, shadow, ... in order to define them as CSS rather than leaving them in the exported image (no serious front-end dev want that)\tfor image-background, sometimes, it can’t be defined with the image fill because of some transformation (filters, crop...) and must be exported instead (node.exportAsync), in that case, the content of that node must be hidden before the export (since that content will be HTML dom)\tother reasons related to nested rotation which are a bit hard to describe in a short sentence.Of course, i make sure that each of those writes are

I was trying to clean up a file and move some older stuff to an “archive” file. I accidentally used cmd + x and cut the frames I wanted to move. Now when I try to paste them, Figma hangs for a minute, then the frames all show up as if the paste worked, Figma is unresponsive for a moment — then I get an “Open this file in recovery mode” modal, and when I do so all the pasted content disappears.You can see it in action here: https://monosnap.com/file/3VMxNwbMXEoFAkDcUNR2JH7t4jcmUQI can’t seem to get around this. I’ve tried the desktop app and multiple browsers. I’ve tried using a new file, restarting Figma, and wiggling my nose in every direction during the paste…Any idea how I can get these frames out of my clipboard and back into Figma? Is there some way I can paste the data into another app and attempt to break it up into multiple pastes? It’s not even THAT much stuff, but I guess it’s just a teeny bit over the line for what Figma can handle.Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
