Figma projects load slowly and layers become unresponsive after loading

Some Figma projects take a long time to load. Even when the file appears to have finished loading, navigating between layers is extremely slow or unresponsive, making it difficult to work on the design.

Steps to Reproduce:

  1. Open a project with multiple pages and layers.

  2. Wait until the file seems to be fully loaded.

  3. Try to navigate or switch between layers..

Environment:

  • Figma desktop/web

I understand you're experiencing long loading times when opening a Figma file.

Could you please try refreshing Figma(either by reloading the tab or restarting the app) and see if the issue persists?


If the issue is still occurring after the refresh, could you please try the following steps?

  • Try connecting to Figma from a different network (for example, a mobile hotspot) to see if the issue still occurs.

If using a different network resolves the issue, we recommend contacting your IT team for further troubleshooting. Be sure to let them know:
