I am facing a bug where Figma does not correctly reference variables in a different collection even when the appropriate modes are set. For context, I have created a simple multi-brand design system with: Primitives collection: storing hex values of colors for each of my company’s brands (yellow and green) Semantic collection: storing references to variables in the primitive collection for the same brands After setting up the primitives collection, when I try and edit the variable for green brand in the semantic collection, the variable ‘picker’ window shows the correct green that should be referenced from primitives, however for some reason this does not apply.  The video demonstrates the issue. I also show correctly applying the mode for the page to be the green brand from primitives when attempting to troubleshoot.  Happy to hear if

Asset search recognizes PascalCase within the file where the component is defined but fails to do so when searching from a different file.For example, if I search for “can” within the file containing the TrashCan component, it appears in the results. However, searching for “can” from another file does not return TrashCan—only searching for “trash” works. This seems like a bug.  

I'm trying to use a Boolean property to toggle the visibility of a layer inside a component instance, but it's not working. I added a Boolean property to my main component and tried to bind it to a layer's visibility. I right-clicked the eye icon, linked the property, but nothing happens—toggling it in an instance doesn’t hide the layer. What am I missing? Any help would be appreciated!

I’m on a mac and am attempting to add a keyboard shortcut for “reset all changes” on component instances. I can’t seem to figure out the menu command I need include. I have tried “Reset all changes” as it appears on the instance menu, but that doesn’t seem to work. Any insight would be appreciated!

Usually when i open a file, a new tab opens for that file, but now i only see the design file but no tab is opened for it. I’ve tried changing teams and re installing Figma but nothing changed. Help please

Hey everyone! I recently was shared a file to edit within my team and I was able to edit and view without any issues. However after a week or so when I try to jump back into these files it is now requiring me to verify that I am a student or educator. I’m unable to do this because I am neither and if I can’t do it then I am unable to edit the file. Other members of my team are not experiencing this issue. Is there any solution in order for me to be able to edit these files again without verification? Does it have something to do with the owners permission of the file?

Well, I’m doing a project that uses a lot of overlays, and I want to use the manual option, but the preview appears sometimes… when I want to position one preview it doesn’t show up, but some times it works. What can i do?For example, the preview doesnt appear even I close this windows of interaction… what do I do?

Haven’t been able to find anyone else experiencing this so apologies if it’s already documented, but I’m getting a really annoying bug when selecting the trigger for a prototype where no matter where I am on the page it cuts off the options dialogue. Is there a fix?   

Hello! I need help locating the variable button. I’m following a tutorial where they attach a number variable to a text box. In my Typography section, I can see options to attach variables to line height and letter spacing. However, I don’t see an option to assign a variable to the entire text box content, which is what I’m trying to do. The dark theme screen shot is mine and the light theme screen shot is from the fallow along video.

Hello everyone, I have a problem with a component and the ignore auto layout command.I have constructed a component of two elements, a circle and a group, the latter consisting of two circles. I have a problem when I resize the component. When I resize the component the red circle changes size, but the spinner (where the ‘ignore auto layout’ is applied) remains the same fixed size, despite the fact that the component has the constraints set to left/right and high/low.If I detach the component, it works fine.If I modify the component within the component set, it works fine.I need to use the component with these two constraints because I use a system with variable collections and without this, if I change the dimensions, the whole system explodes.

Hi, I would like to see memory usage in layers panel. According to the Figma documentation there should be an option called ‘Memory usage’ found in ‘View’. This option is not visible for me. I find ‘Resource use’ but this does not display the percentage to view how much memory my layers and components are using. I tried to search (⌘+P) for “memory”, but didn’t get any result either. I also uninstalled Figma and re-installed, but still no Memory usage option. What have I missed?

When i add the “ignore auto layout” in a parto of component, this doesn’t work. If i detach the same component it works correctly.

I’m looking to prototype a sticky bar in Figma that becomes visible once the user scrolls past x% of the page height. The animation should have a smooth slide-up effect to keep the experience seamless. Any ideas on how to achieve this in Figma’s prototyping mode?For example, a sticky bar appears only when user scrolls to 20% of the page and it will become fixed to bottom of screen for the rest of the scroll depth. Then when a user scrolls back up, the element releases from the fixed position and disappear. You can see this in effect on this pageDoes anyone have any solution to this?

I’m working on a plugin to generate HTML and CSS from Figma designs. I am facing a positioning issue while generating CSS from the designs without auto-layout. While Figma’s auto-layout designs provide CSS properties like flex properties, so it’s easy to make the design responsive in that case. But, designs without auto-layout do not have those css properties. Is there a way to identify layout direction (vertical or horizontal) and spacing between elements in designs without auto-layout?

I encountered an issue with the Alibaba PuHuiTi font in Figma. When I type the character "收", it appears as "护" instead. I have tried refreshing Figma, reinstalling the font, and testing it on different devices, but the issue persists.Could you help check if this is a known issue or provide any possible solutions?

I offer free plugin on MIT license . As I remember there was no option to choose the license during publication so it was for free on MIT . I want now to add additional plugin services that the users could pay for them - i am reading now the payment api , but I am not sure so I would like to ask - does the payment checkout needs to be made by me like handle with Stripe , Paypal … payment ? I want to get list of libraries (along with their published version) used inside my figma design file using the REST API. I could not find anything specific in the documentation. Is there any way to do that?

When I select a light color, ie any of the second line, the connector will use the color at the first line, you can even see the selected is the one I chose but the connector will still use the darker color. It also happened when I tried to copy a color from other element, it won’t respect the color I chose.

Here is a video demonstrating the trouble or bug. Responsive fonts are adapted during the smart animate transition. This disrupts the desired animation. Fonts using variables should be cached in hidden states. Locking the mode to MD for the cards when the entire screen is on mode LG works… but then my composition is fake because it’s not the good font sizes !

When I click on the button, screen 1 should go to screen 2, and the button should move from enabled state to pressed state, while pressing. As you can see from the prototype, while moving from one screen to another, the icons on the right side do a strange effect, become a square. Can someone help me fix this? Also, for the kind of animation from screen 1 to screen 2 that I need, I have to keep the smart animate between the two. Thank you!!

If I remove all the font code, the plugin opens without complaint. Something has changed in the latest update that seems to be causing this
