Hi I am working on a project where I have to create a draggable button interaction in side a menu. But I am not able to do because of lack of knowledge on prototyping. Can someone help me with a tutorial or something?

I’m having a hard time wrapping my head around color variables in Figma Slides. Here’s my expectation:We have a component library file in Figma Design with colors variables and text-styles (which are also powered or “constructed” by variables). I’d like to create a new slide template for our product/company and would like to have maximum efficiency by just re-using what is already there and connecting the existing variables and text-styles in the Figma Slides feature. But it seems like this is not working?Here’s what’s happening:When I’m adding our component library file under Assets I get the option to pick a color for fills and text and switch to Libraries where my added library styles come up. But instead of linking this variable (such as in Figma Design), Figma Slides seems to create it’s own? So a separate color entity that just takes the values of the variable once, but will never update if I publish library updates.LOL? Why? Am I missing something? Am I holding it wrong? If it i

Hi,I have an updated version of a font which been used in our organization. I have removed the old version and installed the new one, but there is still the old font I see in my shared Figma files. For my personal Figma files I can get the new font by double clicking all textboxes, but not in my organizational shared files. Does anybody know how I can solve this? Could it be related to cache? Or do everyone in the organization need to update the font, if they havn’t yet? There is no shared fonts uploaded to our organization in Figma, it all relates to fonts locally installed.Thanks!

I’ve been dealing for some time with the quirks of using fonts as icons and Figma’s somewhat temperamental application of component variables, and I figured it was long since time to reach out here and maybe get some thoughts on how to better approach this.Where I’m at now:Currently, we’re using Font Awesome. Their figma system is comprehensive, but simple - it just gives you a base icon with a large variety of options, but lets you replace the text to get the glyph you want.Screenshot of Font Awesome’s official Figma file.This is a nice beginning, but I also want the convenience and guardrails of selected, specific icons for approved usage - designers shouldn’t be grabbing any text out of FA, and we can do this by providing more typical layout of icons. Possible bug: Currently, when I use the paste and replace option (either via keyboard shortcut of the menu options), instead of the thing I copied replacing the thing I selected, the text of the thing I copied replaces the thing I selected. I need it to work as before, where the entire thing I copied (component, section, frame, etc) replaced the thing I selected. There are a few older posts regarding the copy and paste+replace; however, I believe my experience is novel.

Is there a way to export a Figma screen with the overlay included?I don’t want to just take a screenshot in presentation mode since it doesn’t look very professional.What I usually do is duplicate my screens with the modal and an opaque background, but that ends up wasting time.Thanks in advance for any answers.

hi everybody. I’m trying to add fonts to the web version of Figma, install FigmaAgent, everything is fine. But fonts are not enabled in the panel, the message local fonts are currently not enabled. I tried to turn on WebGL - it didn’t help. My Mac is HighSierra 10.13.6. Chrome Browser

Hi, I am preparing a few prototypes in Figma Make and I’m going to present to stakeholders, but I need to limit the access to the published URL’s because or our company Privacy and Security policies. But even Figma Make file privacy is set to “Only those invited”, for the published URL I cannot control the visibility and this leads to a privacy problem, I don’t want to have this links public , but only private shared within our organization only. Is there a way to configure it? 

Hey Figma community!I’ve been working heavily with a custom plugin I helped develop. It generates components that I then publish to our team library for designers to use. My main frustration is this:Whenever I make updates to those components and push a new version, all instances in other files stay stuck on the old version. Designers have to manually remove and reinsert components—or use "Update All"—and that's error-prone and time-consuming.What I’ve tried so far:Ensured the components are in the correct library and version. Used “Swap Library” in Figma file settings. Asked team members to click “Update all instances” when prompted—but relying on that hasn’t been reliable.What I’d love to know from you all:Is there a smoother way—maybe via Figma plugin API—to push updates so instances refresh automatically? In the previous version i can able to paste the vectors as vectors from adobe illustrator but now it’s not working its getting pasted as image.. IS anyone facing the same issue??.. how to resolve this because that helps a lot

Are they considered the same organization, the same Team? We created a simple prototype for the number-purchasing flow. The buying process should work as follows: the user starts from the numbers page, where they should see a large selection of numbers (up to 200), organized into categories. Based on their needs, they should be able to choose only one number. However, in our prototype, we can’t restrict the selection to just one number — instead, it allows users to select multiple numbers. Hi,I created and designed some pages for my portfolio in Figma. As one of the last steps I wanted to include a navigation bar. Which should look different on Desktop, Tablet and Mobile:Desktop and Tablet: it should be a floating/sticky Element on the top Mobile: It should be a classic Element with a burger menu, when you click on the burger the menu should appear.I created the navbars for each device/breakingpoint as a component I created an component set for all these navbars (including the variant for the open mobile version) I added an istance to the desktop page and on tablet and mobile the correct variants appera But when I preview it, and then go to the  mobile view and open the burger menu and then switch to tablet or desktop view the mobile navbar is still there. Hello, while prototyping, Figma only understands the vector, images and text, how to allow figma to under stand a combination of all of this as a one button (like the photo attached), so once the user press on any element of this button it will activate..as you see in the below image, there is an option to select the language, but Figma only can select the arrow or one single element at a time, so shall I make the whole vectors connection? or is there a way to combine it into one button?. Thank You

Hello, I recently started lerning FIgma. So when I was making the calendar, I decided to add a highlight effect for selected cells. When you click on them, they get bigger and start to highlight. I did it with buttons. So, is it possible to place all the calendar cells at the same height along the z-axis, and when you click on them, raise the active cells above the others, and so that they are also at the same level (the active cells should not cast a shadow on each other, as in the screenshot). I tried to find something on the google, but there is nothing similar.Thanks in advance for your help.
